Na Hvare som strávil krátky čas v máji 2010. Samozrejme, príspevok ukazuje len veľmi malú časť druhovej diverzity rastlín na tomto krásnom chorvátskom ostrove. Hvar je domovom pôsobivej flóry. Hvar sa vyznačuje typickým stredomorským podnebím s teplými suchými letami a miernymi zimami. Slnečné svetlo a dostatok tepla tvoria ideálne podmienky pre rast a kvitnutie mnohých druhov rastlín. Pôda na ostrove je však často kamenistá a chudobná na živiny. Biodiverzita flóry Hvaru je dôležitá nielen pre estetický zážitok návštevníkov, ale aj pre udržanie ekosystémov a zachovanie genetického bohatstva rôznych druhov. Ochrana tejto flóry je preto kľúčovým aspektom environmentálnej politiky a úsilia o udržateľný rozvoj ostrova.

I spent a short time on Hvar in May 2010. Of course, this contribution shows only a very small part of the species diversity of plants on this beautiful Croatian island. Hvar is home to an impressive flora. The island is characterized by typical Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild winters. Sunny weather and sufficient warmth create ideal conditions for the growth and blooming of many plant species. However, the soil on the island is often stony and nutrient-poor. The biodiversity of Hvar’s flora is important not only for the aesthetic experience of visitors but also for maintaining ecosystems and preserving the genetic wealth of various species. The protection of this flora is therefore a key aspect of environmental policy and efforts towards sustainable island development.
Hvar is home to several endemic plants. One example is Hvarski ljutić (Nigella croatica), which adorns the slopes of the island with its impressive flowers. Another endemic species is Hvarski šafran (Crocus hvarensis), which blooms in the spring and creates colorful carpets in some parts of the island. The island of Hvar is also home to many plants characteristic of the Mediterranean region. Na Hvaru sam proveo kratko vrijeme u svibnju 2010. Naravno, ovaj prilog prikazuje samo vrlo mali dio biljnog diverziteta na ovom prekrasnom hrvatskom otoku. Hvar je dom impresivne flore. Otok se odlikuje tipičnom sredozemnom klimom s toplim suhim ljetima i blagim zimama. Sunčano vrijeme i dovoljno topline stvaraju idealne uvjete za rast i cvjetanje mnogih biljnih vrsta. Međutim, tlo na otoku često je kamenito i siromašno hranjivim tvarima.
