Delfínky Cyrtocara moorii

Hits: 9579

Vraví sa im aj delfínky. Dosahujú úctyhodných veľkostí, aj cez 20 cm v akváriu. V prírode sa vyskytuje vo východoafrickom jazere Malawi. Patrí medzi endemické druhy. V prírode sa vyskytuje v skalnatých oblastiach, najčastejšie vo väčších skupinách, kde uprednostňujú hlboké vody so silným prúdom.

They are also called dolphin cichlids. They reach impressive sizes, even over 20 cm in aquariums. They occur naturally in Lake Malawi in East Africa. They are among the endemic species. In the wild, they inhabit rocky areas, most commonly in larger groups, preferring deep waters with strong currents. It is important to keep them in larger groups to maintain their natural social dynamics. It is recommended to have at least 6 to 8 individuals in an aquarium of at least 200 liters. They have a wide body and a striking blue color, mainly on the upper parts of the body and head. This species of cichlid is easily distinguished from others by its specific mouth anatomy and characteristic protrusion on the forehead, reminiscent of a hump. They are polygamous, harem species. They are omnivorous, peaceful, and gentle species, but can also be quite active. In the aquarium, they can establish a hierarchy, but usually coexist harmoniously with other fish in the tank. In the tank, they sift” the sand at the bottom, constantly searching for something to nibble on. In the wild, they reproduce in the reefs. Males can be aggressive towards females during mating season; after laying eggs, the female cares for the larvae until they hatch and begin to swim independently.

Neolamprologus leleupi is an endemic species of Lake Tanganyika. They are also known as Leleupi Cichlids. They have characteristic coloring, ranging from light yellow to intense orange, with narrow heads and long bodies, allowing them to maneuver quickly among the rocky reefs of their natural environment. In the wild, they inhabit rocky areas of Lake Tanganyika. They are territorial and aggressive fish, defending their territories from other individuals of their species. It is recommended to keep them only with species capable of defending themselves. In the wild, pairs are often found in rock crevices or under large stones. They are relatively hardy and can adapt to various water conditions, being omnivorous fish. Individuals of this species are able to stretch their mouths incredibly wide – perhaps up to 160°. They look truly intimidating then, capable of intimidating even much larger opponents. Intraspecies fights often occur, sometimes resulting in the death of the weaker individual. They are hostile to each other in adulthood. For breeding, they require peace and a firm substrate. There are various forms, such as lemon-yellow to dark brown: bulu, kapampa, karilani, kakese, kiku, lumbye, maswa, milima, mtoto, orange, tembwe, uvira.

Kuna aina mbalimbali, kama vile manjano hadi kahawia kali: bulu, kapampa, karilani, kakese, kiku, lumbye, maswa, milima, mtoto, orange, tembwe, uvira.

Copadichromis borleyi

Hits: 9807

Malawijský druh. Synonymá: Cyrtocara borleyi, Haplochromis borleyi. Patria medzi Utaka druhy. Žijú vo voľnej vode vo veľkých skupinách, blízko skalných stien, piesčitého dna, v malých až stredných hĺbkach (520 m) (akvarista.cz). V rôznych oblastiach jazera: Chemwezi Rocks, Chimwalani Reef, Mara Point, Pombo Rocks, Kadango, Chilucha, Chinyamwezi, Chinyankwazi, Crocodile Rocks, Fort Maguire, Kande Island, Linganjala Reef, Lundu, Maison Reef, Makonde, Mara Rocks, Mbenji Island, Mdoka, Mpanga, Mpandikucha, Msisis, Mumbo Island, Namalenje, Nkhungu Reef, Otter Island, Taiwan Reef, Tumbi Point, Undu Point, Zimbawe Rocks (cichlidenstube.de).

Celkom registrujem tieto formy: Cobue, Gold Fin, Kadango, Kadango Red Fin, Kirondo, Namalenji, Chemwezi Rocks, Chimwalani Reef, Mara Point, Pombo Rocks, Chilucha, Chinyamwezi, Chinyankwazi, Crocodile Rocks, Fort Maguire, Kande Island, Linganjala Reef, Lundu, Maison Reef, Makonde, Mara Rocks, Mbenji Island, Mdoka, Mpanga, Mpandikucha, Msisis, Mumbo Island, Namalenje, Nkhungu Reef, Otter Island, Taiwan Reef, Tumbi Point, Undu Point, Zimbawe Rocks, Ntekete, Yellow Fin.

A Malawi species. Synonyms: Cyrtocara borleyi, Haplochromis borleyi. Belongs to the Utaka species. They live in open water in large groups, near rocky walls, sandy bottoms, at small to medium depths (520 m) (akvarista.cz). In various areas of the lake: Chemwezi Rocks, Chimwalani Reef, Mara Point, Pombo Rocks, Kadango, Chilucha, Chinyamwezi, Chinyankwazi, Crocodile Rocks, Fort Maguire, Kande Island, Linganjala Reef, Lundu, Maison Reef, Makonde, Mara Rocks, Mbenji Island, Mdoka, Mpanga, Mpandikucha, Msisis, Mumbo Island, Namalenje, Nkhungu Reef, Otter Island, Taiwan Reef, Tumbi Point, Undu Point, Zimbabwe Rocks (cichlidenstube.de). They readily crossbreed with Copadichromis azureus (akvarista.cz).

Those that I kept behaved relatively collectively. After two months from acquisition, they began to behave more aggressively towards each other. I bought young fish, estimated to be 8 to 12 months old. The males began to color. They could gorge themselves incredibly on live cyclops, daphnia, and similar food. The male is more colorful. Both genders can grow up to 15 cm in our care. In their appetite, they are similar to Nimbochromis venustus. They are not as reasonable in consumption as Pseudotropheus and certainly not as Melanochromis. They stuff themselves much more and to bursting, then other species do not get so much. Once I witnessed how a dominant male was so fat that he had breathing problems. Perhaps he also had balance problems – he was intensely trying to swim. I lost one individual in a quite curious way. While feeding, as always, the borleyi would uncompromisingly push their way to the food. But Cyphotilapia gibberosa was also hungry and, above all, stronger. Its mouth is truly grandiose and since it did not care about the consequences, it punctured the face of the gentle female Copadichromis. On one side, she was left with a visible scar, on the other an even larger one, and she also lost an eye, which was held only by a few millimeters. The punctuation of the fight for food was completed by Pseudotropheus socolofi albino, who swam to the affected fish, opened his papilla, aimed, and with a strong tug, devoured the eye with pleasure. As if nothing else was the purpose of his existence, just to wait for such an opportunity. After this shameless act, he immediately but calmly swam away. The borleyi was left without an eye. I was curious how she would react to the fate’s disfavor, and my instinct did not deceive me. The fish was disoriented, but initially showed no clear signs of pain or lethargy. Although she did not accept food, she swam elegantly but chaotically throughout the aquarium, avoiding only places where food was concentrated. Even three hours after the incident, I did not observe any signs of hiding, unhealthiness, or impending demise. However, the night followed, and as I expected, it was over for her in the morning. Copadichromis borleyi kadango red fin is a form of the species Copadichromis borleyi. Red fin means red fins. They are more orange or yellow. I register these forms: Cobue, Gold Fin, Kadango, Kadango Red Fin, Kirondo, Namalenji, Chemwezi Rocks, Chimwalani Reef, Mara Point, Pombo Rocks, Chilucha, Chinyamwezi, Chinyankwazi, Crocodile Rocks, Fort Maguire, Kande Island, Linganjala Reef, Lundu, Maison Reef, Makonde, Mara Rocks, Mbenji Island, Mdoka, Mpanga, Mpandikucha, Msisis, Mumbo Island, Namalenje, Nkhungu Reef, Otter Island, Taiwan Reef, Tumbi Point, Undu Point, Zimbabwe Rocks, Ntekete, Yellow Fin.

Eine Malawispezies. Synonyme: Cyrtocara borleyi, Haplochromis borleyi. In verschiedenen Gebieten des Sees: Chemwezi Rocks, Chimwalani Reef, Mara Point, Pombo Rocks, Kadango, Chilucha, Chinyamwezi, Chinyankwazi, Crocodile Rocks, Fort Maguire, Kande Island, Linganjala Reef, Lundu, Maison Reef, Makonde, Mara Rocks, Mbenji Island, Mdoka, Mpanga, Mpandikucha, Msisis, Mumbo Island, Namalenje, Nkhungu Reef, Otter Island, Taiwan Reef, Tumbi Point, Undu Point, Zimbabwe Rocks (cichlidenstube.de).

Red fin bedeutet rote Flossen. Sie sind eher orange oder gelb. Ich registriere diese Formen: Cobue, Gold Fin, Kadango, Kadango Red Fin, Kirondo, Namalenji, Chemwezi Rocks, Chimwalani Reef, Mara Point, Pombo Rocks, Chilucha, Chinyamwezi, Chinyankwazi, Crocodile Rocks, Fort Maguire, Kande Island, Linganjala Reef, Lundu, Maison Reef, Makonde, Mara Rocks, Mbenji Island, Mdoka, Mpanga, Mpandikucha, Msisis, Mumbo Island, Namalenje, Nkhungu Reef, Otter Island, Taiwan Reef, Tumbi Point, Undu Point, Zimbabwe Rocks, Ntekete, Yellow Fin.

Spishi ya Malawi. Visawe: Cyrtocara borleyi, Haplochromis borleyi. Katika maeneo mbalimbali ya ziwa: Chemwezi Rocks, Chimwalani Reef, Mara Point, Pombo Rocks, Kadango, Chilucha, Chinyamwezi, Chinyankwazi, Crocodile Rocks, Fort Maguire, Kande Island, Linganjala Reef, Lundu, Maison Reef, Makonde, Mara Rocks, Mbenji Island, Mdoka, Mpanga, Mpandikucha, Msisis, Mumbo Island, Namalenje, Nkhungu Reef, Otter Island, Taiwan Reef, Tumbi Point, Undu Point, Zimbabwe Rocks (cichlidenstube.de).

Ninarekodi aina hizi: Cobue, Gold Fin, Kadango, Kadango Red Fin, Kirondo, Namalenji, Chemwezi Rocks, Chimwalani Reef, Mara Point, Pombo Rocks, Chilucha, Chinyamwezi, Chinyankwazi, Crocodile Rocks, Fort Maguire, Kande Island, Linganjala Reef, Lundu, Maison Reef, Makonde, Mara Rocks, Mbenji Island, Mdoka, Mpanga, Mpandikucha, Msisis, Mumbo Island, Namalenje, Nkhungu Reef, Otter Island, Taiwan Reef, Tumbi Point, Undu Point, Zimbawe Rocks, Ntekete, Yellow Fin.

Melanochromis auratus

Hits: 10349

Registrujem tieto formy Melanochromis auratus: dwarf, elongate, nakathenga. Druhy rodu Melanochromis: auratus, baliodigma, benetos, brevis, chipokae, cyaneorhabdos, dialeptos, elastodema, heterochromis, interruptus, joanjohnsonae, johannii, labrosus, lepidiadaptes, loriae, maingano, melanopterus, mellitus, parallelus, perileucos, perspicax, robustus, simulans, vermivorus, xanthodigma.

For me, one of the most beautiful species, especially the females. They reach 1015 cm, and I consider them moderately demanding, especially the young ones, which are a bit more delicate compared to other Malawi species. Gender can be easily distinguished in dominant individuals. There are known cases where a recessive male exhibited female coloration. Young individuals start to change color after nine months. Just like in the literature, I have witnessed a young aggressive male dominating over a well-established” male, who seemed to be in his prime. The same description is in the literature: in the battle for dominance, the young blood usually wins out. When young are fed live food, they grow rapidly.

Something very paradoxical happened with this species. An adult female, about two to three years old, drowned. She got stuck with a stone, which lodged in her digestive tract in such a way that she couldn’t expel it. She appeared healthy and in good condition, preparing to breed. The male’s sexual activity is considerable; he often actively pursues the female. The male establishes his place in the tank, which he happily arranges to his liking, often seen spitting sand.

I record these forms of Melanochromis auratus: dwarf, elongate, nakathenga. Species of the genus Melanochromis: auratus, baliodigma, benetos, brevis, chipokae, cyaneorhabdos, dialeptos, elastodema, heterochromis, interruptus, joanjohnsonae, johannii, labrosus, lepidiadaptes, loriae, maingano, melanopterus, mellitus, parallelus, perileucos, perspicax, robustus, simulans, vermivorus, xanthodigma.

Arten der Gattung Melanochromis: auratus, baliodigma, benetos, brevis, chipokae, cyaneorhabdos, dialeptos, elastodema, heterochromis, interruptus, joanjohnsonae, johannii, labrosus, lepidiadaptes, loriae, maingano, melanopterus, mellitus, parallelus, perileucos, perspicax, robustus, simulans, vermivorus, xanthodigma.

Astatotilapia latifasciata

Hits: 8221

Ide o geneticky a morfologicky pomerne príbuzné taxóny. Synonymá A. latifasciata: Haplochromis obliquidens zebra, Haplochromis latifasciata Pod označením Haplochromis obliquidens zebra som ich videl napríklad v Tropikáriu v Budapešti. Registrujem jednu formu: albino.

A cichlid from Lake Victoria belonging to the Haplochromini group, which is a so-called catch-all group of several genera and species awaiting further determination. They are genetically and morphologically closely related taxa. Both this species and other species belonging to this group are often renamed and reclassified, leading to confusion and misunderstandings. Synonyms for A. latifasciata: Haplochromis obliquidens zebra, Haplochromis latifasciata. I saw them under the name Haplochromis obliquidens zebra, for example, at the Tropicarium in Budapest. This species is quite predatory and voracious. The male reaches larger sizes, with a maximum likely between 15 and 20 cm. The number of eggs a female can hold in her mouth is remarkable; I would estimate it at 100200 pieces. I didn’t have these cichlids for long, but once I counted almost 90 fry from one female. The male has a red spot behind the gill covers, and yellow color accompanies him from this spot to the tail. The female is colored only with a basic grayish-white color, with 5 – 6 transverse stripes. These stripes are more or less perpendicular. Another species of the genus Astatotilapia has these stripes more diagonally oriented. I would characterize this species as resilient, capable of dealing with the challenges of other African cichlids. I had the impression that they don’t bother others and yet command natural respect. I register one form: albino.

Ninaandika fomu moja: Albino.
