Hits: 5776

Devínska Kobyla patrí k najdlhšie osídleným lokalitám na Slovensku. Už v období 5000 rokov pred n.l. si tu neolitickí roľníci stavali svoje prvé sídla. V 4 storočí pred n.l. sa tu usadili Kelti, ktorí začali klčovať lesy. Po nich ovládli územie v 1. storočí n.l. Rimania a založili na juhozápadných svahoch Devínskej Kobyly vinice (devinskakobyla.sk). Pod severovýchodnými svahmi medzi Dúbravkou a Technickým sklom” sa odkryli pozostatky vidieckej usadlosti rímskeho typu – villa rustica z 3. storočia (panorama.sk).

Britský botanik D. Moore v publikácii Plant Life pripravil celosvetový výber prírodovedne osobitne zaujímavých lokalít a z desiatich vymedzených pre celú Európu venoval dve strany Devínskej Kobyle (inba.sk). Patrí do Devínskych Karpát.

Vzácnosťou je ihlica nízka Ononis pusilla, Lathyrus sphaericus, Conringia austriaca, Potentilla pedata, Smyrnium porfoliatum, Bupleurum rotundifolium, Consolida orientalis ssp. paniculata, Aplenium adianthum nigrum (sazp.sk), stepný relikt Gypsophila fastigiata (devinskakobyla.sk).

Devínska Kobyla is one of the longest inhabited sites in Slovakia. As early as 5000 years BC, Neolithic farmers established their first settlements here. In the 4th century BC, Celts settled, initiating deforestation. Following them, in the 1st century AD, the Romans dominated the area and founded vineyards on the southwest slopes of Devínska Kobyla (devinskakobyla.sk). Under the northeastern slopes, remnants of a Roman-type rural settlement – villa rustica from the 3rd century, were uncovered between Dúbravka and Technické sklo” (panorama.sk).

Geologists refer to the massif of Devínska Kobyla as the treasury of geological phenomena.” Approximately 300 million years ago, this area was part of the supercontinent Pangaea. In subsequent periods, the region was repeatedly flooded by the sea, forming limestones and dolomites – Devínska hradná skala, Waittov lom, Štokeravská vápenka, Sandberg. The Baden Sea, which existed here 14 – 16 million years ago, shaped a significant fossil site on Devínska Kobyla – Sandberg. Morava and Danube rivers significantly contribute to the formation of Devínska Kobyla. Their beds gradually shifted, and about 600 thousand years ago, their confluence was formed in the area of today’s Devínska Nová Ves. The geological changes moved Devínska hradná skala about 130 thousand years ago (devinskakobyla.sk). Devínska Kobyla is the starting point of the massive Carpathian arc. The Hundsheim Hills on the right bank of the Danube in Austria also belong geologically to the Carpathians. Southern slopes consist mainly of gray limestones, dolomites, and carbonate breccias, dating back 160 – 180 million years. The summit is composed of Mesozoic cherts, formed by cementation of beach sand (Information Board).

Devínska Kobyla is one of Slovakia’s most unique locations. British botanist D. Moore, in the publication Plant Life,” selected globally scientifically interesting locations, dedicating two pages to Devínska Kobyla for the whole of Europe (inba.sk). It is part of the Devínske Karpaty, located in close proximity to Devín – a district of Bratislava, near the confluence of the Morava River with the Danube. It includes Sandberg and is highly frequented. Familiarly known as Kobyla, it boasts a rich variety of natural forms. It exhibits a high degree of biodiversity due to its history as a originally forested area that humans have historically managed, deforested, and cultivated (Wikipedia). Devínska Kobyla used to be grazed by sheep, goats, and cattle, but pasture gradually diminished around the mid-20th century (broz.sk). Devínska Kobyla hosts thousands of animal species, such as the Saga pedo bush-cricket and the Mantis religiosa mantis. Over 600 butterfly species, including the Papilio machaon swallowtail and Parnassius mnemosyne clouded Apollo, more than 380 beetle species, like Lucanus cervus stag beetle, and Cerambyx cerdo great capricorn beetle. Falcons, such as the Falco tinnunculus kestrel, nest on the rocks, while Monticola saxatilis rock thrush occasionally visits. The rare long-necked mantis Mantispa styriaca and the scarce swallowtail Iphiclides podalirius are also found here (devinskakobyla.sk, sazp.sk).

The vegetation is dominated by thermophilic and calcicolous plants, with over 1,100 species of higher plants. Among them are 26 species of orchids, thermophilic insect species adapted to extreme and prolonged periods of drought (broz.sk). The elegant feather grass Stipa pulcherrina and Stipa joannis, 26 species of orchids (Orchideaceae), Adonis vernalis, Pulsatilla nigricans, Pulsatilla grandis, Lilium martagon, Iris pumila, Iris variegata, Platanthera bifolia. Rare species include Ononis pusilla, Lathyrus sphaericus, Conringia austriaca, Potentilla pedata, Smyrnium porfoliatum, Bupleurum rotundifolium, Consolida orientalis ssp. paniculata, and the steppe relic Gypsophila fastigiata (devinskakobyla.sk, sazp.sk).

Devínska Kobyla is the highest peak of the Devínske Karpaty, with an altitude of 514 meters above sea level, and simultaneously the southernmost extension of the Malé Karpaty. It has legal protection, designated as a National Natural Reserve since 1964, covering an area of 101.12 hectares (Wikipedia). Devínska Kobyla is also a so-called area of European significance, part of the Protected Landscape Area of Malé Karpaty and part of the NATURA 2000 protected areas (broz.sk). Waittov lom, depicted in the photographs, is located near Sandberg, approximately 600 meters towards Devín. In the past, it served as a limestone quarry (slovakia.travel).

Kr. e. 4. században a kelták telepedtek le itt, akik elkezdték erdőket irtani. Utánuk a rómaiak vették át a területet a Kr. u. 1. században, és szőlőültetvényeket alapítottak a Devínska Kobyly délnyugati lejtőin (devinskakobyla.sk).

A geológiai változásoknak köszönhetően a Devínska hradná skala mintegy 130 ezer évvel ezelőtt került át a területre (devinskakobyla.sk). A Devínska hradná skalán kezdődik a Kárpátok hatalmas íve területünkön. Geológiai értelemben a Kárpátokhoz tartoznak Ausztria jobb partján található Hundsheim-hegyek is. A déli lejtőket főként szürke mészkők, dolomitok és karbonát brekciák alkotják. Az üledékek 160 – 180 millió évvel ezelőtt keletkeztek. A csúcs másodlagos kvarctartalmú homokból kialakult a mezozoikum korszakban (Információs tábla). A Devínska Kobylyon keresztül indul a Kárpátok hatalmas íve területünkön. A Devínska Kobyla az egyik legszigorúbban védett hely Szlovákia egész területén. A brit botanikus, D. Moore, a Plant Life című munkájában a világ számos természeti szempontból érdekes helyéből választott ki, és a tíz európai hely közül két oldalt szentelt a Devínska Kobylynak (inba.sk). A Devínske Karpaty része. Bratislava városrészéhez, a Devínhöz, nagyon közel található. A Morava és a Duna folyók torkolata mellett fekszik. Ide tartozik a Sandberg is. Nagyon gyakran látogatott hely. A Kobyla”, ahogyan Bratislavában hozzászoktak nevezni, valóban gazdag a természet változatos formáinak palettájában. Magas fokú biodiverzitást mutat, részben azért, mert eredetileg erdős terület volt, ahol azonban történelmileg gazdálkodtak, erdőt irtottak, kaszáltak stb. (Wikipedia). A legelők körülbelül a 20. század közepéig fokozatosan megszűntek (broz.sk). A Devínska Kobylyon több ezer állatfaj él. Például a Saga pedo sáska, a Mantis religiosa imádkozó sáska. Több mint 600 pillangófaj, például a lepkefarkú lepke Papilio machaon, a Parnassius mnemosyne tollaslepkű, több mint 380 bogárfaj, például a szarvasbogár Lucanus cervus, a nagy szarvasbogár Cerambyx cerdo. A sziklákon fészkel a vércse Falco tinnunculus, és ide is repül a Monticola saxatilis, a keleti rétisas Falco

cherrug (devinskakobyla.sk). Több északi elterjedési határon élő faj is él itt. Ritka hosszúnyakú imádkozó sáska, Iphiclides podalirius sáska is előfordul itt (sazp.sk).

Itt a melegkedvelő és mészkövet kedvelő növények dominálnak, összesen több mint 1100 faj magasabb növény nő itt. Közöttük 26 orchidea faj. Itt élnek a száraz időszakokhoz alkalmazkodott melegkedvelő rovarfajok is (broz.sk). Itt található a szép Stipa pulcherrina és Stipa joannis, 26 orchideafaj (Orchideaceae), a tavaszi sáfrány Adonis vernalis, a fekete kankalin Pulsatilla nigricans, a nagyvirágú kankalin Pulsatilla grandis, a törpe liliom Lilium martagon, az alacsony írisz Iris pumila, a kétszínű írisz Iris variegata, a Platanthera bifolia. Rendkívüli ritkaság a kis ononis Ononis pusilla, a gömbölyű levelű pillangós Lathyrus sphaericus, a Conringia austriaca, a Potentilla pedata, a Smyrnium porfoliatum, a Bupleurum rotundifolium, a Consolida orientalis ssp. paniculata, az Aplenium adianthum nigrum sziklai relikvia (devinskakobyla.sk).

A Devínska Kobyla a Devínske Karpaty legmagasabb csúcsa, tengerszint feletti magassága 514 m, és egyben a Kis-Kárpátok legdélibb kiterjesztése. Törvényi védelmet is élvez, 1964 óta Nemzeti Természeti Rezervátum (NPR) 101,12 hektáros területtel (Wikipedia). A Devínska Kobyla az Európai Unió fontos területe, része a Kis-Kárpátok Védett Tájterületének és a NATURA 2000 védett területeknek (broz.sk). A fotókon látható Waittov lom a Sandbergtől nem messze, körülbelül 600 méterre Devín felé. Régebben mészkőbányaként szolgált (slovakia.travel).

Stopy

Hits: 1285

Footprints are created by humans, and they are usually symmetrical and arranged with a distinct pattern depending on the type of footwear, often with visible details such as laces or spikes. Footprints offer a unique perspective on movement and activities in a particular location. Their character and visibility are influenced not only by the type of animal or human but also by weather conditions and the characteristics of the surface.

Animals with hooves create distinct prints in the shape of a line, wider at the back and tapering towards the front. These prints are often deep and leave a characteristic shape on the ground. Animals with paws make small prints with toes and prominent pads. They are symmetrical and can reveal the size and weight of the animal, as well as its mode of movement. Footprints are especially pronounced in the snow.

Šport

Hits: 11676

Ja sám som aktívnejšie lyžoval a hral basketbal.

Sport is an amazing thing. Our behavior during sports activities is similar to how our ancestors, the predators of ancient times, used to express themselves when hunting. The excitement in sports closely resembles the thrill that Homo sapiens predecessors likely experienced in the prehistoric era. It’s an instinctual matter. In sports — by which I mean activities involving physical movement — I simply feel the joy of motion, gaining a sense of well-being. Moreover, sports have positively changed the lives of many people, teaching them to be demanding not only of others but, more importantly, of themselves. Personally, I’ve been more active in skiing and basketball. If I were to start today, I would consider trying cycling and swimming from a health perspective. Swimming is perhaps the most versatile sport, and cycling is excellent for endurance, promoting heart health through training. I, myself, engage in sports less nowadays, but I try to stay active :-)).

Park Foto 2013tento rok nám navarili guľáš priamo v parku hostia

Park Photo 2013 – this year, guests cooked goulash for us right in the park.

Park Foto 2011

Park Foto 2009 – najpríjemnejšie stretnutie amatérskych fotografov na Slovensku

V tretiu septembrovú sobotu sa konal už 4. ročník výstavy fotografií v plenéri, ktorú organizuje Piešťanský fotoklub v mestskom parku. Park Foto bolo minulý rok ocenené primátorom mesta Piešťany – Kultúrny počin roku 2008, ako významná a už tradičná akcia, ktorá úspešne zviditeľňuje Piešťany. Vystavovalo 68 autorov, na ktorých bolo zvedavých približne 1500 návštevníkov, ktorí hodnotili fotografie pripnutím štipca. V kategórii do 18 rokov zvíťazili dve mladé dámy: Anna Kopponová a Simona Hanková z Piešťan. Medzi dospelými bolo takéto poradie: 1. Roman Tibenský z Piešťan, 2. Daniel Bašo z Galanty, 3. Milan Maronek z Trnavy. Tento rok Piešťanský fotoklub zaviedol okrem tradičného hodnotenia jednotlivých fotografií štipcami aj hodnotenie porotou, ktorú tvorili členovia Asociácie profesionálnych fotografov SR. Peter Bagi ocenil Annu Kopponovú z Piešťan, Ivan Čaniga Magdu Vrábelovu z Galanty, Martin Vrabko Máriusa Sordela z Nových Zámkov a Anna Struhárová Romana Bučka z Piešťan.

Park Photo 2009 – the most enjoyable meeting of amateur photographers in Slovakia.

On the third Saturday of September, the 4th edition of the open-air photo exhibition took place, organized by the Piešťany Photo Club in the municipal park. Park Photo was awarded the Cultural Act of the Year 2008 by the mayor of Piešťany, recognizing it as a significant and traditional event that successfully highlights the city. The exhibition featured 68 authors, attracting approximately 1500 visitors who evaluated the photos by attaching clothespins. In the under 18 category, two young ladies, Anna Kopponová and Simona Hanková from Piešťany, emerged victorious. Among adults, the rankings were as follows: 1. Roman Tibenský from Piešťany, 2. Daniel Bašo from Galanta, 3. Milan Maronek from Trnava. This year, the Piešťany Photo Club introduced, in addition to the traditional evaluation using clothespins, jury evaluation composed of members of the Association of Professional Photographers of the Slovak Republic. Peter Bagi awarded Anna Kopponová from Piešťany, Ivan Čaniga awarded Magda Vrábelová from Galanta, Martin Vrabko awarded Márius Sordel from Nové Zámky, and Anna Struhárová awarded Roman Buček from Piešťany. All three together awarded Nora Lukačovičová from Piešťany for the photograph Merry-Go-Round.” Park Photo saw a successful continuation, everything happened in a pleasant atmosphere, and the weather was favorable. The evaluation took place in the beautiful and dignified setting of the nearby Kursalon, followed by socializing. The fact that a crispy-roasted piglet was enjoyed by the exhibitors at the end was an excellent conclusion to a great Saturday.

In 2009, I prepared for Park Photo much better than the previous year. It was also because I knew what to expect. Twice as many authors came as positive. Park Photo was more beautiful for me also because I already knew other authors here. It’s a pity that the Photo Marathon took place in Bratislava at the same time. I prepared two series of photos. I got the impression that landscapes were liked by almost everyone. The series of fish was unacceptable for many but liked by others. Probably the fact that many found them somewhat cold, I assume that the idea of something from the water discouraged many. It was my attempt, which I probably won’t repeat. However, I was satisfied with my photos. Among the exhibited photos, I really liked Beckov by Richard Hesko, and by far the most, the photos by Rasťo Čambal. It’s a bit strange because until September 19, 2009, I didn’t really like Rasťo Čambal’s work. I found only a few photos that I liked. Of course, it must be admitted that I had probably seen only 20 – 30 pictures until then.

However, I have one very negative aspect. A lot of people walked past the photos carelessly. I believe that many of them simply didn’t take the time for it. What struck me, however, was that few people read the names of the photos, and the reactions to these names were not adequate at all. I’m very sorry that almost even children can’t express themselves properly. I registered about four adequate reactions to the read name of the shot. Of course, I wasn’t standing by my photos all the time. Among them was also a negative reaction. I am definitely more pleased with a negative reaction than no reaction at all. I am referring primarily to the names of the fish because it is a different abstraction than with landscapes – judge for yourself according to the photos below. I thought a lot about it. I noticed that visitors who came from the flower parade – another event, expressed themselves much more. Perhaps they were stirred up by dance, perhaps singing, allegorical floats, flowers, majorettes.

Rok 2008

Year 2008

On September 20, 2008, in the pleasant surroundings under the chestnuts of the municipal park, the third edition of the Park Photo exhibition took place. The event organizer named it Park Photo Piešťany 2008, a festival of creative photography – an open-air photo exhibition. Someone mysterious, but certainly powerful, probably ordered” the weather, and someone paid for it very well because it was raining almost everywhere in Slovakia, but not in the park in Piešťany. On this chilly Saturday, only three drops fell on me. Objectively, it must be acknowledged that it drizzled a bit in some places, but since we had large horse chestnut and other trees almost as an umbrella above us, our photos and we remained dry. The organizer also thought of our lower instincts, prepared tea and rum. Mixing was allowed in any ratio :-). There was only one liter of rum, though ;-). If you happen to envy, there’s not much to envy because the air temperature, humidity, and wind speed almost forced us to expand our veins a bit. September 20 also marked the ceremonial end of the bathing season. A procession, a floral parade, allegorical floats, passed through the city. Around 3:30 pm, frozen majorettes in short skirts passed by us, who seemed to be running rather than walking :-(.

38 creators participated in the photo exhibition. Despite the unpleasant weather, maybe 700 – 900 people viewed the photos. It was significant for me personally that I presented myself at home (by the way, for the first time) in front of people as well as photographers. According to the words I heard, my photos made an impression on people. Since I had Piešťany in several shots, many people examined what was in the photos. I took some shots in places that a person wouldn’t normally reach without effort, so they looked a bit exotic. It was strange for me to find out that people often lack geometric and spatial imagination. The view of the area from an airplane, on a map, is different from a person’s view, and a photographer’s view is a bit different. It might sound a bit strange, but visitors were surprised by what they knew. The angle of view was unknown to them, of course, not to everyone.

I was also pleased with another assessment that repeated a few times, namely that my photos were like alive.” To clarify, I do not consider the photos I had at this exhibition as amazing, and the motifs on them are not considered artistically very valuable or original at all. I consider one single photo from them as more photographable 🙂 and I finally gave my clothespins to it. The evaluation took place using clothespins – pegs attached to clotheslines. First, visitors to the event evaluated, then the exhibitors themselves evaluated using clothespins they collected. I won’t thank for the favor shown because it’s not about something for a reward or extra work, but I’ll say that I’m happy about the favor, and I’ll continue to try to take better and better photos. But I thank the organizers for the opportunity to present myself and spend time pleasantly and usefully.

After the exhibition, Dušan Beláň (dufi) introduced us to photobox.sk and the photos from the competition he had committed in early July on photobox.sk itself. The photos were on Pribinova 115 thanks to the then EVEREST FOTO until September 19, later in Piešťany at Kursalon. Then the announcement of the winners followed in a pleasant environment full of photos. After the evaluation, I got to know the exhibitors more, especially the members of the photo club from Piešťany. We toasted to Dušan’s health (apparently, we didn’t have to – presumably, he’s as fit as a fiddle 😉 ), and then we tackled the roasted piglet. We talked for a long time, I myself stayed until about 8:30 pm, so perhaps two hours. We also discussed organizational and human problems mildly, and since I myself am involved in the aquarium movement” in a similar position, we noted that it’s the same, and it’s certainly not fun.

During the whole day, as I was in the exhibition space, I met a lot of acquaintances, and the conversation was, of course, about photographs. Especially at the end, my friend Leo helped me, who later found himself at the evaluation as well. He saw the atmosphere that prevailed there and expressed himself surprised. He didn’t expect that this chilly day would turn out so nicely in the end.

Dušičky a sviatok Všetkých svätých

Hits: 7568

Kresťanský sviatok Všetkých svätých pripadá na 1. november. 2. november prislúcha Spomienke na všetkých verných zosnulých – Dušičkám. Latinsky In commemoratione omnium fidelium defunctorum (Wikipedia.cz). Sviatok All hallow even znamená doslovne predvečer všetkých svätých. Masky stríg a oheň mali pomôcť zahnať démonov viesť dobré duše do ríše smrti.

Christian holiday All Saints’ Day falls on November 1st. November 2nd is dedicated to the Memory of All the Faithful Departed – All Souls’ Day. In Latin, it is called In commemoratione omnium fidelium defunctorum” (Wikipedia.cz). On both of these days, we more often visit cemeteries, decorate graves with flowers and wreaths, and light candles in their memory. It is a symbol of faith in eternal life (Vlk). By remembering our deceased loved ones, we pay them respect and express that they continue to live in our hearts (teraz.sk). In the East, the feast of all martyrs has been celebrated since the 4th century (Wikipedia CZ). The celebration of All Saints’ Day originates from the historical event of the consecration of the Roman Pantheon to the Virgin Mary and all the holy martyrs on May 13, 609 (katolik.cz). In the 8th century, the feast of All Saints began to be celebrated on November 1st in Ireland and England, and in Rome from the 9th century (Wikipedia CZ). Perhaps on November 1st because the Celts started the new year on this day (katolik.cz). The Celtic population bid farewell to the goddess of life and welcomed the rule of the prince of death Samhain on the night of October 31st to November 1st, marking the beginning of winter (teraz.sk). The commemoration of all the deceased (All Souls’ Day) is a remembrance of the departed. Prayer for the deceased is one of the oldest Christian traditions, and the remembrance of the dead is part of every Mass. The commemoration appeared after 998 in the French Benedictine monastery of Cluny. Since 1915, when a large number of people died in World War I, priests can celebrate three Masses on this day. In the past, in some villages in the Czech and Moravian countryside, a special pastry called dušičky” (little souls) was baked, which was given to travelers, beggars, and the poor (katolik.cz). The holiday All Hallow Even literally means the eve of All Saints. From it, the holiday Halloween, especially celebrated in the USA, originated. Its origin is associated with the Celtic festival Samhain (pronounced souin”, sauin”). On this day, a living person could visit the underworld. The Celts used to prepare a feast for the souls. The whole ritual was to ensure the inhabitants of the house peace from evil spirits and protection by good spirits. Masks of witches and fire were supposed to help drive away demons and lead good souls to the realm of death. The Irish legend tells of Jack O’Lantern, a drunkard who was rejected by both heaven and hell for his vile behavior. However, hell could not accept him because he had received a special promise from the devil through deceit. Since then, his spirit has been traveling around the world with a pumpkin lantern. This is how the custom of placing pumpkins on windows and sills originated. People believe that Jack takes the light and protects them from evil spirits (diva.sk).
