World Dog Show Bratislava

V Bratislave v Inchebe sa konala 8. až 11.10.2009 Svetová výstava psov. Mrzí ma, že som si našiel málo času na to, aby som si vychutnal túto výstavu. Našiel som si iba hodinku a to som musel dávať pozor na , aby som stihol vlak. Nabudúce určite pôjdem od rána. Veľmi ma potešilo aj to, že počas akcie som stretol Ivana Čanigu, ktorý sa tiež zjavne bavil vďaka štvornohým stvoreniam všakovakých tvarov.

Svojho času som už navštívil viaceré psov. Táto bola naozaj obrovská. Samotné priestory Incheby, kde zvyknú byť výstavy psov nestačili a preto sa súťažilo a vystavovalo aj pred hlavnými halami pod velikánskym stanom. Napokon, je to vidno na úvodných fotografiách. Už teraz sa teším na nasledujúcu výstavu.

In at Incheba, the World Dog Show took place from October 8th to 11th, 2009. I regret that I didn’t manage to find enough time to fully enjoy the exhibition. I only had an hour, and I had to keep an eye on the time to catch my train. Next time, I’ll definitely go early in the morning. It was also a great pleasure to meet Ivan Čaniga during the event, who seemed to be enjoying himself among the various four-legged creatures of all shapes and sizes.

Over time, I’ve attended several dog shows, but this one was truly massive. The Incheba premises, where dog shows are usually held, proved insufficient, leading to competitions and displays taking place even outside the main halls under a gigantic tent, as evident in the introductory photos. I’m already looking forward to the next exhibition.

Terčovce – králi akvaristiky

, alebo aj diskusy sú kráľovské druhy sladkovodnej akvaristiky. , podobne ako skaláre, medzi juhoamerické . Ich a odchov je dosť náročný a odchov. Okrem iného vyžadujú teplú vodu 28 – 30 °C, veľmi mäkkú pre odchov. V chove sú už dnes dlhšie chované terčovce schopné znášať aj trvale tvrdú vodu. Samostatnou kapitolou je chov spoločne so skalármi. Spoločný chov odporúčam len skúseným chovateľov. V zásade to nie je vylúčené, skaláre musia byť dostatočne odčervené. Pri ich rozmnožovaní je jedinečné, že vylučujú kožný sekrét, ktorým živia svoje potomstvo. Obsahuje aj ochranné látky, takže plní podobnú funkciu ako materské mlieko u cicavcov, alebo trhanie srsti u zajacov a králikov. Je veľmi dôležité, aby sa rodičom vytvorilo dostatočné množstvo sekrétu pre úspešný odchov. Odvodzujú sa od prírodných foriem týchto druhov: Symhysodon aequifasciatus haraldi, Symhysodon aequifasciatus axelrodi, Symhysodon aequifasciatus aequifasciatus a Symphysodon discus.

Discus fish, also known as Symphysodon, stand as regal beings in the realm of freshwater aquaristics. Similar to angelfish (skaláre), they belong to the family of South American cichlids. Their breeding and rearing pose considerable challenges and demands. Among other requirements, they need warm water between 28 – 30 °C, and very soft water, especially during breeding. Recently, captive-bred discus fish have adapted to tolerate permanently hard water.

A separate chapter in the care of discus fish addresses their compatibility with angelfish. Coexistence is recommended only for experienced breeders. In principle, it is not excluded, but angelfish must be adequately dewormed. During their reproduction, discus fish exhibit a unique behavior: they excrete a skin secretion that nourishes their offspring. It contains protective substances, fulfilling a function similar to maternal milk in mammals or fur tearing in rabbits and hares. It is crucial to create a sufficient amount of secretion for successful rearing.

The excretion of skin mucus during reproduction is a distinctive feature and a crucial aspect for a successful rearing process. The various species and forms within the genus Symphysodon offer aquarists a diverse range of options, each displaying its unique beauty and characteristic features

Diskusfische, auch als Symphysodon bekannt, gelten als königliche Wesen in der Welt der Süßwasseraquaristik. Ähnlich wie Skalare (skaláre) gehören sie zur Familie der südamerikanischen Buntbarsche. Die Zucht und Aufzucht stellt erhebliche Herausforderungen und Ansprüche dar. Unter anderem benötigen sie warmes Wasser zwischen 28 – 30 °C und sehr weiches Wasser, insbesondere während der Zucht. In letzter Zeit haben sich auch in Gefangenschaft gezüchtete Diskusfische an dauerhaft hartes Wasser angepasst.

Ein eigenes Kapitel in der Pflege von Diskusfischen befasst sich mit ihrer Verträglichkeit mit Skalaren. Das Zusammenleben wird nur erfahrenen Züchtern empfohlen. Grundsätzlich ist es nicht ausgeschlossen, aber Skalare müssen ausreichend entwurmt sein. Während ihrer Fortpflanzung zeigen Diskusfische ein einzigartiges Verhalten: Sie scheiden eine Hautsekrete aus, das ihren Nachwuchs ernährt. Es enthält Schutzstoffe und erfüllt eine ähnliche Funktion wie Muttermilch bei Säugetieren oder das Reißen von Fell bei Kaninchen und Hasen. Es ist entscheidend, eine ausreichende Menge Sekret für eine erfolgreiche Aufzucht zu erzeugen.

V Banskej Bystrici na adrese Majerská cesta 98 sídlila firmy Akvaprodukt. Je to akvaristika, ktorá bola na Dolnej. Je založená od roku 2002 a je zameraná iba na Akvaristiku. Objem nádrží predstavuje cca 5 000 litrov, v ktorých sa nachádza sa minimálne 70 druhov tropických a jazierkových rýb. Akvaristika má aj svoj internetový predaj. Akvaristika takisto zriaďuje akváriá, vždy je k dispozícii dobrá ponuka živorodiek, afrických cichlíd jazier a . Samozrejmosťou sú akváriové aj jazierkové rastliny, krevety, , , liečivá, krmivá. Richard sám je posudzovateľ rýb. Akvaristika na Dolnej poskytuje širokú paletu tovaru a ja vám ju odporúčam navštíviť.

Či obchod aj v roku 2024 funguje, neviem.

In , at Majerská cesta 98, there used to be an aquarium store called Akvaristika operated by the company Akvaprodukt. It was an aquarium store that was located in Dolná. Established in 2002, it focused exclusively on aquariums. The total volume of the tanks was approximately 5,000 liters, housing a minimum of 70 species of tropical and pond fish. The aquarium store also had an online shop. They set up aquariums and always had a good selection of livebearers, African cichlids from the Malawi and Tanganyika lakes. They offered a variety of aquarium and pond plants, shrimp, feeds, equipment, medications, and fish food. Richard himself is a fish judge. The aquarium store in Dolná provided a broad range of products, and I recommend paying it a visit.

Stretnutia akvaristov

stretnutí sa začala písať v lete 2001 na vtedajšej www.akvarium.sk. Prebiehali v Prešporskej kúrii v Bratislave. 11.06.2003 jeden z členov fóra akva.sk – azet inicioval myšlienke diskutovať aj zoči voči a nielen na fóre prostredníctvo Internetu. Medzitým pretieklo v Dunaji veľa a sa stala miestom mnohých stretnutí. Do 1.1.2008 ich bolo snáď už aj 200. Na väčšine z nich som sa aj zúčastnil. Po istom čase som začal evidovať, aby som zhruba vedel koľko ľudí chodí na tieto stretnutia. Zúčastnilo sa ich celkovo možno až dvesto akvaristov a iných chovateľov, manželiek apod. Predovšetkým z Bratislavy, ale aj z okolia, niekoľkokrát dokonca z Nitry. Výborné je, že k nám neustále prichádzali noví a noví a to ako z radov mladých akvaristov, tak aj z tých skúsených. Dúfam, že sa nám podarilo naozaj osloviť veľa ľudí, o čom svedčí aj skladba chovateľov a akvaristov na stretnutiach. Stretávali sme sa najmä v Smichovskej perle na Špitálskej, v Rakete pri Draždiaku a na konci môjho pôsobenia v Prešporskej kúrii.

Aj v súčasnosti sa stretnutia robia, momentálne „U Očka“. Dôležitou vecou je, že sme neoslovili len Bratislavu, že sa nestretávame len v Bratislave, ale aj Košice, kde sa stretnutia konajú takmer tak dlho ako v Bratislave. Okrem toho sa tieto aktivity množia v Bánovciach nad Bebravou, v Nitre, v Leviciach, v Poprade, v Žiline, v Dubnici nad Váhom, v Trenčíne, v Banskej Bystrici.

The history of meetings began to be written in the summer of 2001 on the then www.akvarium.sk. They took place at the Prešporáček Palace in Bratislava. On June 11, 2003, one of the forum members on akva.sk – azet initiated the idea of discussing face-to-face, not just on the forum via the Internet. Since then, a lot of water has flowed in the Danube, and Bratislava has become the venue for many meetings. By January 1, 2008, there were probably already around 200 of them. I participated in most of them. After a while, I started keeping records to have a rough idea of how many people attend these meetings. A total of maybe two hundred aquarists and other breeders, spouses, etc., attended them, mainly from Bratislava but also from the surrounding areas, and several times even from . It’s excellent that new people kept coming, both young and experienced aquarists. I hope we managed to reach many people, as evidenced by the diverse composition of breeders and aquarists at the meetings. We met mainly at Smichovska Perla on Špitálska, at Raketa near Draždiak, and towards the end of my time, at Prešporáček Palace.

Meetings are still happening today, currently at „U Očka.“ Importantly, we didn’t only engage Bratislava; we don’t only meet there but also in Košice, where meetings have been taking place for almost as long as in Bratislava. Besides, these activities are growing in Bánovce nad Bebravou, Nitra, Levice, Poprad, Žilina, Dubnica nad Váhom, Trenčín, and .

Bol som nejaký členom akvaristického klubu, ktorý nesie meno KLUB.AKVA.SK. Neskôr som sa nezhodol s praktikami v klube a rozhodol som sa s tým ďalej nebojovať. Avšak styk s mnohými akvaristami z tej doby stále mám.

I was a member of an aquarium club called KLUB.AKVA.SK for some time. Later, I disagreed with the practices in the club and decided not to continue fighting against them. However, I still maintain contact with many aquarists from that time.

Prednáška Norberta Dokoupila

KLUB.AKVA.SK zorganizoval 6.9.2006 v Dome kultúry Ružinov akvaristickú prednášku Norberta Dokoupila „Nielen o živorodkách“. Zúčastnilo sa jej 50-60 ľudí. Pán Dokoupil rozprával o sfarbení rýb, o tom akými farbivami disponujú. Po prednáške prebehla diskusia, kde sme sa napr. pýtali, prečo ryby nebývajú zelené. Položili sme pánovi Dokoupilovi asi päť otázok, jednu z nich aj prítomný Miro Rusko. Aj mimo oficiálneho programu sa živo diskutovalo a verím, že mnohí z nás využili príležitosť prehodiť zopár viet so svojimi kolegami. Po prednáške sa uskutočnila ustanovujúca schôdza, na ktorej sa volil výbor klubu a revízna komisia. Zvolený výbor: Branislav Barčin, Norman Durný, Markéta Rejlková, Vladimír Volf, Haláč, , Ivan Vyslúžil. Revízna komisia: Milo Pešek, Ľubomír Holubčík. Priebeh máme zaznamenaný prostredníctvom kamery a ja som zachytával dej fotoaparátom, aby som vám priblížil atmosféru, ktorá v DK Ružinov 6.9.2006 vládla.

Lecture by Norbert Dokoupil

On September 6, 2006, the CLUB.AKVA.SK organized an aquarium lecture at the Ružinov Cultural Center by Norbert Dokoupil titled „Not Only About Livebearers.“ Approximately 50-60 people attended the event. Mr. Dokoupil discussed the coloring of fish and the pigments that fish possess. Following the lecture, there was a discussion where questions were raised, such as why fish are not green. About five questions were posed to Mr. Dokoupil, including one from Miro Rusko. Even outside the official program, lively discussions took place, and many of us took the opportunity to exchange thoughts with our colleagues. After the lecture, the inaugural meeting was held, during which the club committee and audit commission were elected. The elected committee members were Branislav Barčin, Norman Durný, Markéta Rejlková, Vladimír Volf, Martin Haláč, Peter Kaclík, and Ivan Vyslúžil. The audit commission consisted of Milo Pešek and Ľubomír Holubčík. The course of the lecture was recorded via camera, and I captured the events with a camera to provide you with a glimpse of the atmosphere at the Ružinov Cultural Center on September 6, 2006.

10.10.2009 sa uskutočnila v Dome kultúry v Dúbravke, v Bratislave v poradí druhá bratislavská teraristická burza (BTB) Tropicana Pressburg. Najviac boli ponúkané plazy, predovšetkým jaštery. Veľa bolo aj slimákov, hadov. Čiastočne bola zastúpená aj . Zvláštne pre mňa boli kalone, čo sú netopiere. Podľa fotografií si môžete spraviť obraz o tom, ako to tam vypadalo. Ja odhadujem, že predajcovia boli zhruba na 50 metroch, keby boli v jednom rade. Atmosféra bola výborná, teraristi sú takmer bez výnimky tolerantní, pokojní , kto neverí, nech príde napr. na ďalšiu Tropicanu, ktorá bude na 2010.

On October 10, 2009, the second terrarium fair in , Tropicana Pressburg (BTB), took place at the Culture House in Dúbravka. The event featured a significant offering of reptiles, especially lizards. There were also many snails and snakes available. Additionally, there was a partial representation of aquarium-related items. Particularly intriguing for me were „kalone,“ which are bats. From the photos, you can get an idea of how it looked there. I estimate that the sellers were spread over approximately 50 meters if they were in a single row. The atmosphere was excellent; terrarium enthusiasts are, without exception, tolerant and peaceful people. Anyone who doubts this should come to the next Tropicana, scheduled for spring 2010.
