Nachá­dza sa na ľavom bre­hu rie­ky Váh, v nad­mor­skej výš­ke 475 met­rov nad morom. Z hra­du vid­no Doma­šin­ský mean­der (hrad​s​trec​no​.sk). Iné náz­vy pre hrad: Varín­sky hrad, War­na, Var­na, Owar, Owa­ar, Sta­rig­rad. V roku 2017 bol zapí­sa­ný medzi národ­né kul­túr­ne pamiat­ky (Wiki­pe­dia). Povesť o hra­de Starh­rad hovo­rí o krás­nej Marien­ke a jej milom Mil­ko­vi (kam​na​vy​le​ty​.sk). Dol­ný hrad obo­pí­nal pomer­ne vyso­ký a masív­ny hrad­ný múr (strec​no​.sk).


In the past, the Old Cast­le Streč­no was also kno­wn as Varín. The first writ­ten men­ti­on dates back to 1241. In the first half of the 17th cen­tu­ry, the cast­le under­went recons­truc­ti­on (hrad​s​trec​no​.sk). It is loca­ted on the left bank of the Váh River, at an ele­va­ti­on of 475 meters abo­ve sea level. From the cast­le, you can enjoy vie­ws of the Doma­šín Mean­der (hrad​s​trec​no​.sk). The Lower Cast­le was sur­roun­ded by a rela­ti­ve­ly tall and mas­si­ve cast­le wall (strec​no​.sk).
