Zell am See sa nachá­dza neďa­le­ko Salz­bur­gu. Ozna­ču­je sa tak­to jaze­ro, celá oblasť, okres a kúpeľ­né mes­to. Nachá­dza sa tu množ­stvo per­fekt­ne udr­žia­va­ných zjaz­do­viek, rekre­ač­né stre­dis­ká, turis­tic­ké a cyk­lo­tu­ris­tic­ké ces­ty, špor­to­vé haly apod. Celé­mu okre­su Zell am See sa hovo­rí aj Pinz­gau (zel​lam​see​.cz). Cez Zell am See vedie Tau­ern­ská cyk­lo­tra­sa, kto­rá je 325 km dlhá z mes­ta Krimml do Salz­bur­gu. Vedie po asfal­to­vých ces­tách s mini­mál­nym pre­vý­še­ním. Neďa­le­ko sa nachá­dza Kap­run a jeho ties­ňa­va Sieg­mung Thun Klamm, ľado­vec Kitzs­te­in­horn, vrch Hund­ste­in, vyhliad­ka Kai­ser Franz Josef Höhe kto­rý je vo výš­ke 2369 met­rov nad morom, s kto­rej vid­no naj­väč­ší rakús­ky ľado­vec Pas­ter­ze a naj­vyš­ší vrch Grossg­lock­ner. V šir­šom oko­lí od jaze­ra sú Krimml­ské vodo­pá­dy, voda z nich padá z výš­ky tak­mer 400 met­rov v troch kas­ká­dach. Pat­ria medzi naj­väč­šie v Euró­pe (Milan Zajíc). Pôvod­ná a naj­star­šia lanov­ka Sch­mit­ten­höhe­bahn bola posta­ve­ná v roku 1927 ako prvá v Salz­bur­sku a pia­ta v Rakús­ku. V Kap­ru­ne vzdia­le­nom 7 km od Zell am See sa nachá­dza dru­hý naj­väč­ší kúpeľ­ný kom­plex v Rakús­ku, s množ­stvom bazé­nov, a širo­kou ponu­kou vod­né­ho sve­ta (Jan Hocek).

Zell am See is loca­ted near Salz­burg. It refers to a lake, the enti­re regi­on, a dis­trict, and a spa town. The­re are nume­rous per­fect­ly main­tai­ned ski slo­pes, rec­re­a­ti­onal resorts, hiking and cyc­ling trails, sports halls, and more in the area. The enti­re dis­trict of Zell am See is also cal­led Pinz­gau (zel​lam​see​.cz). The Tau­ern Cyc­le Path, which is 325 km long from Krimml to Salz­burg, pas­ses through Zell am See. It fol­lo­ws asp­halt roads with mini­mal ele­va­ti­on. Near­by is Kap­run and its gor­ge Sieg­mund Thun Klamm, the Kitzs­te­in­horn gla­cier, the Hund­ste­in peak, the Kai­ser Franz Josef Höhe vie­wpo­int at an alti­tu­de of 2369 meters, from which you can see Aus­tria­’s lar­gest gla­cier Pas­ter­ze and the hig­hest peak Grossg­lock­ner. In the bro­ader vici­ni­ty of the lake are the Krimml Water­falls, with water fal­ling from a height of almost 400 meters in three cas­ca­des. They are among the lar­gest in Euro­pe (Milan Zajíc). The ori­gi­nal and oldest Sch­mit­ten­höhe­bahn cab­le car was built in 1927 as the first in Salz­burg and the fifth in Aus­tria. In Kap­run, 7 km from Zell am See, is the second-​largest spa com­plex in Aus­tria, with nume­rous pools and a wide ran­ge of water att­rac­ti­ons (Jan Hocek).

In Kap­run, 7 km von Zell am See ent­fernt, befin­det sich das zwe­itg­rößte Kur­kom­plex Öster­re­ichs mit zahl­re­i­chen Pools und einem bre­i­ten Ange­bot an Was­se­ratt­rak­ti­onen (Jan Hocek).
