Žehra je zložená z troch lokalít: vlastnej obce Žehra, Sídliska Dreveník a miestnej časti Hodkovce. V roku 1869 v Žehre žilo 408 obyvateľov. V roku 1991 1126, v roku 2021 2616 obyvateľov (obeczehra.sk). Interiéry kostola svätého Ducha tvoria vzácne gotické fresky svetového významu. On samotný už z diaľky púta pozornosť bielou farbou kostola a charakteristickým dreveným cibuľovitým zakončením veže. Navyše sa vypína nad obcou na návrší. Kostol bol dokončený v roku 1275, v priebehu storočí bol viackrát upravovaný. Od roku 1985 je národnou kultúrou pamiatkou a od roku 1993 je zapísaný aj do Zoznamu svetového kultúrneho dedičstva UNESCO (obeczehra.sk).
