Hits: 3476

Nachádza sa tu zrúcanina hradu Devín, gotický kostol svätého Kríža – Panny Márie z druhej polovice 13. storočia a pomník padlým hrdinom I. a II. svetovej vojny (Wikipedia).

V 16. storočí bolo významným trhovým miestom, existovali tu viaceré cechy: lodníkov, rybárov, hrnčiarov, obuvníkov a vinohradníkov. Prekvitalo pestovanie ovocia a zeleniny.

Devín is located at the confluence of the Morava and Danube rivers at an altitude of 158 meters above sea level. With an area of 13.98 km², it is home to 1382 inhabitants. The Hungarian name for Devín is Dévény, and the German name is Theben. Here, you can find the ruins of Devín Castle, the Gothic Church of the Holy Cross – Virgin Mary from the second half of the 13th century, and a monument to the fallen heroes of World War I and II (Wikipedia).

The oldest settlement in Devín dates back to the Neolithic period – the arrival of Neolithic farmers 5,0003,500 years BC. The most significant discovery from the early Iron Age is likely the finding of a grain pit containing originally stored einkorn wheat – Triticum dicoccum. The territory was associated with the Celts during the late Iron Age. From the 1st to the 4th century, the area was part of the Roman defensive system, the Limes Romanus, as one of the outposts of the Roman Carnuntum (sazp.sk). At the end of the 1st century BC, Roman traders also settled here. Roman coins were found here (Richard Miške). In the 1st century, the Romans built a guard station here, inhabited by a legion from Carnuntum. After its abandonment in the 4th century, Slavs settled in the area (Goláň et al.). Ancient Germanic urn graves were also found here (sazp.sk). An ancient loaf of bread was found, likely of wheat and rye (hradiska.sk). The earliest written mention of Devín dates back to a document from 1237 under the name Villa Thebyn. The town was subject to Devín Castle. In 1568, it gained independence and privileges from Emperor Maximilian. In the 16th century, it was a significant market town with various guilds: boatmen, fishermen, potters, shoemakers, and winemakers. The cultivation of fruits and vegetables flourished. In 1829, the Danube Steam Navigation Company was founded. Devín significantly benefited from Lafranconi’s quarry from 1870 to 1890, which supplied stone for the regulation of the Danube. Vineyards have been mentioned in the Devín area since 1254, but Devín is known for its currant wine, production of which began in 1922 by Alois Sonntag. Until the end of World War II, Germans, Hungarians, Slovaks, Jews, and Croats lived here. Devín has been part of Bratislava since 1946 (devin.sk).

Dévény a Morava és a Duna folyók összefolyásánál fekszik, 158 méteres tengerszint feletti magasságban. Területe 13,98 km², és 1382 lakosa van. A Dévény magyar neve Dévény, a német neve pedig Theben. Itt található a Dévényi várnak a romja, a Szent Kereszt – Szűz Mária gótikus templom a 13. század második feléből és egy emlékmű az I. és II. világháborúban elesetteknek (Wikipédia).

Dévény legrégebbi települése a neolitikumból származik – a neolitikus földművesek érkezése 5.0003.500 évvel ezelőtt. Kr. U. végén római kereskedők is letelepedtek itt. Itt is találtak ógermán urnatemetőket (sazp.sk). Az ókorban találtak egy kenyérféléket. Valószínűleg búzából és rozsból készült (hradiska.sk). A Dévény legrégebbi írásos említése egy 1237-es okiratból származik a Villa Thebyn néven. A város a Dévényi várhoz tartozott. 1568-ban kapott függetlenséget és kiváltságokat I. Maximilián császártól. A 16. században jelentős piaci város volt különböző céhekkel: hajóskapitányok, halászok, fazekasok, cipészek és borászok. Gyümölcs- és zöldségtermesztése virágzott. 1829-ben alapították a Dunai Gőzhajózási Társaságot.
