Bytča

Hits: 4755

Bytča je mesto na Hornom Považí. Nachádza sa neďaleko od Žiliny.

Leží v Bytčianskej doline v nadmorskej výške 337 metrov nad morom. Na rozlohe 43.17 km2 tu žije 11 320 obyvateľov. Má tieto mestské časti: Beňov, Hliník nad Váhom, Hrabové, Malá Bytča, Mikšová, Pšurnovice, Veľká Bytča a Jabloňovský majer, Kypúsy, Šagáty, Tomborov Salaš.

V roku 1831 a 1849 zasiahla mesto cholera. V roku 1858 zemetrasenie. V roku 1946 došlo k pripojeniu Hliníka nad Hronom a Malej Bytče k Veľkej Bytči (bytca.sk).

mesta: básnik Samo Chalupka, básnik, publicita Viliam Paulíny-Tóth, kňaz a prezident vojnového Slovenského štátu Jozef Tiso, lekár Ján Červeňanský, ktorý je považovaný za zakladateľa modernej slovenskej ortopédie (Wikipedia).

Bytča is a town in Upper , located near Žilina.

It lies in the Bytčianska Valley at an elevation of 337 meters above sea level. Covering an area of 43.17 km2, the town is home to 11,320 residents. It consists of the following districts: Beňov, Hliník nad Váhom, Hrabové, Malá Bytča, Mikšová, Pšurnovice, Veľká Bytča, and settlements Jabloňovský majer, Kypúsy, Šagáty, Tomborov Salaš. The town features the Bytča Castle (chateau), designated as a national cultural monument. It includes the Renaissance Wedding Palace (Wikipedia). The Wedding Palace was built in 1601, probably by Italian masters under the instruction of Juraj Thurza. The wedding hall measures 34.5 x 12.5 meters. In 1647, the palace suffered a fire but was only used for storage, a lumberyard, and a granary (bytca.sk). In 1856, it burned again, prompting renovations and changes in its use (muzeum.sk). The Popper Palace underwent significant internal renovations and, in 1886, it became the administrative building of the district court. The palace was reconstructed and officially reopened on October 23, 2009 (bytca.sk). The castle, likely established in 1575 by František Thurzo, was conceived by Ján Kilian de Syroth from Milan (bytca.sk). Bytča is also home to a relatively monumental synagogue closely connected to the large Jewish population in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Built in 1801, its current form dates from the early 20th century (bytca.sk).

The first written mention of Bytča dates back to 1234. Around 1512, František Thurzo, the founder of the Bytča- branch of the Thurzo family, was born. In 1555, Bytča became part of the Hričov estate. The Wedding Palace was constructed in 1601. In 1708, the town was occupied by German imperial forces. Juraj Jánošík served in the castle’s unit. Between 1708 and 1710, Bytča was struck by a plague. In 1766, Mikuláš Lukáči died at the age of 112, likely becoming the oldest resident in the history of Bytča. Cholera affected the town in 1831 and 1849, followed by an earthquake in 1858. In 1946, Hliník nad Hronom and Malá Bytča were annexed to Veľká Bytča (bytca.sk).

Notable personalities from the town include the poet Samo Chalupka, poet and publicist Viliam Paulíny-Tóth, priest and president of the wartime Slovak State Jozef Tiso, and the physician Ján Červeňanský, considered the founder of modern Slovak orthopedics (Wikipedia).

Strážnice

Hits: 2819

Strážnice is a small town located near the borders with Slovakia in southern Moravia, practically a stone’s throw from Skalica.

In German, it is called Strassnitz. Approximately 6,000 inhabitants live here (Wikipedia CZ). In the 5th century, Slavs built a settlement in the area that is now Strážnice. Prior to them, Celts inhabited the region four centuries before Christ, followed by Germans from the end of the 1st century (Skácel). The beginnings of Strážnice are associated with the fortification of the Czech state borders during the rule of Přemysl Otakar II in the second half of the 13th century. The city’s name itself is derived from its guarding function. Strážnice Castle was built in 1260. Captain Petr Strážnický played a significant role in the city’s development. In the early 15th century, the Žerotín family purchased the city, supporting fraternal education. In 1604-1605, Ján Ámos Komenský, who had an aunt in the city, attended such a school. In May 1605, the city was burned down (Vratislavský).

The town’s dominant feature is the White Tower of Strážnice, built in 1615 (straznice-mesto.cz). Consideration for the establishment of an ethnographic open-air museum began in the early 20th century. However, it was only in 1973 that construction commenced (skanzenstraznice.cz). Folklore festivals take place here at the turn of June and July (Vratislavský).

Hits: 5743

Neusiedler See je známe jazero v Dolnom Rakúsku.

Už v roku 1927 bolo v Neusiedli am See kúpalisko. Ponúka rôzne možnosti . Okrem iného surfovanie, jachting (neusiedlamsee.at). V rokoch 1811 – 1813 čiastočne a v 1867 – 1871 jazero úplne vyschlo (Reichwalder, Jablonský, 2003). Miesta a kúpanie a prístavy sú: Illmitz, Podersdorf am See, Weiden am See, Neusiedl am See, Jois, Breitenbrunn, Purbach am Neusiedler See, Oggau am Neusiedler See, Rust, Mörbisch am See v Rakúsku a Fertőrákos v Maďarsku. Prítok do jazera je z 80 % z podzemným prameňov. 20 % privádza rieka Wulka (wikipedia.sk).

Je domovom mnohých vzácnych zvierat a stoviek druhov vtáctva. Na rakúskej strane je oblasť rezerváciou biosféry „Neziderske jazero – Seewinkel“ (neusiedlamsee.at). V jazere žije okolo 30 druhov rýb a v ňom a v okolí hniezdi viac ako 300 druhov vtáctva (mojerakusko.sk). 140 druhov tu hniezdi (info-tour.info). Neziderské jazero patrí k najvýznamnejším oblastiam chráneného vtáctva v Európe. Nachádza sa tu viacero pozorovateľní (Alena Motyčková). Okolo celého jazera je vybudovaná sieť cyklotrás. Celá trasa okolo jazera má 132 km (cestovanie.sme.sk).

Neusiedler See is a well-known lake in Lower Austria, extending into Hungary in its southern part. It is a destination for many cycling trips, including those from Slovakia. Conditions for cycling are also created around the lake itself. Its Slovak name is Neziderské jazero.

It is also referred to as the Sea of Vienna and is a remnant of the Tethys. As early as 1927, there was a beach in Neusiedl am See. It offers various recreational opportunities, including surfing, yachting (neusiedlamsee.at). The Hungarian name for the lake is Fertö tó. Neusiedler See is a shallow, endorheic, slightly saline lake on the border of Austria and Hungary, with a maximum depth of 2 meters. Along with Lake Balaton, it is one of the only steppe lakes in Europe. Since 2001, Neusiedler See has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (wikipedia.sk).

Approximately 20 million years ago, the region experienced subsidence, giving rise to the Pannonian Basin. The subsided areas connected with the system of Tethys basins filled with seawater. After the sea level dropped about 11 million years ago, the Pannonian Basin became a saline brackish lake, often referred to as the Pannonian Lake. In 1811-1813 and 1867-1871, the lake partially or completely dried up (Reichwalder, Jablonský, 2003). The lake covers an area of about 315 km2, with a length of 36 km and a width ranging from 6 to 12 km. The northern third is called Neusiedler Bucht, the narrower middle part is Illmitzer Seeenge, and the lower southern part is Silbesee. The lake is almost entirely surrounded by a reed belt, creating a unique environment. It freezes occasionally to the bottom in winter. Illmitz, Podersdorf am See, Weiden am See, Neusiedl am See, Jois, Breitenbrunn, Purbach am Neusiedler See, Oggau am Neusiedler See, Rust, Mörbisch am See in Austria, and Fertőrákos in Hungary are bathing and harbor locations. 80% of the water inflow into the lake comes from underground springs, while 20% is supplied by the Wulka River (wikipedia.sk).

It is home to many rare animals and hundreds of bird species. On the Austrian side, the area is a biosphere reserve called „Neusiedler See – Seewinkel“ (neusiedlamsee.at). Around 30 fish species inhabit the lake, and more than 300 bird species nest in and around it (mojerakusko.sk). It is home to 140 nesting species (info-tour.info). Neusiedler See is one of the most significant bird conservation areas in Europe, with several observation points (Alena Motyčková). A network of cycling trails is built around the entire lake, with a total distance of 132 km (cestovanie.sme.sk).

Je sídlom mnohých medzinárodných organizácií spojených národov a iných inštitúcií, napr. OPEC-u.

V 18. a 19. storočí žili vo Viedni umelci ako Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Johann Strauss (Wikipédia).

Hits: 4530

Spišský hrad je úchvatný, to sa musí nechať. Je najnavštevovanejším hradom na Slovensku.

Pomenovania Spišského hradu – castrum Scypus, castrum Scepus, castrum Kirchenberg, castrum Scepeswara, hrad (zamky.sk). A o tom máme jednoznačný dôkaz.

Bolo to najrozsiahlejšie a najintenzívnejšie ranohistorické osídlenie hradného kopca.

Spiš Castle is captivating, there’s no denying that. It is the most visited castle in Slovakia.

Names of Spiš Castle – castrum Scypus, castrum Scepus, castrum Kirchenberg, castrum Scepeswara, Spiš Castle (zamky.sk). It is located 634 meters above sea level, making it one of the largest castle complexes in Europe (spisskyhrad.com). With an area of 4.15 hectares, Spiš Castle is considered the largest castle in Central Europe (spisskyhrad.sk). Beneath Spiš Castle, there is a system of caves (snm.sk). It is a national cultural monument (spisskyhrad.sk), and in 1993, Spiš Castle and its surrounding monuments were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List (spisskyhrad.com). This part of Spiš was once inhabited by Neanderthals, as evidenced by the discovery of a human skull in a quarry on neighboring Dreveník in 1938 (spissky-hrad.szm.com). Neolithic people also left traces here, dating back almost 7,000 years (spisskyhrad.com). The prehistoric settlement is dated to the 5th millennium BC (spisskyhrad.com). One of the first known settlements is from the Neolithic period when people of the so-called Bukovohorská culture settled here. In the late first half of the 4th millennium BC, they were replaced by people of the Bodrogkeresztúr culture, bringing a new, more sophisticated material—copper. In the second half of the 3rd millennium BC, people of the Baden culture—people with corded ware pottery—settled, building an extensive hilltop settlement on the castle acropolis and its slopes, as well as the adjacent Dreveník (wikipedia.sk).

In the first two centuries AD, a massive, well-fortified Celtic settlement existed on the site of Spiš Castle. Celts likely minted coins here, including Spiš-type whorls (cestaunesco.sk). Its elite was the Celtic tribe of Kotíni. A unique find from this period includes skeletal remains of a man and leather pouches with Roman coins discovered in a cave beneath the castle (spisskyhrad.com). This was the most extensive and intensive Early Historic settlement on the castle hill. The sophistication of this ethnicity is evident from numerous archaeological artifacts, such as silver coins of the so-called Spiš type, probably from the 1st century BC. However, at the end of the 2nd century, the fortress was suddenly abandoned, and for more than nine hundred years, the hill, once pulsating with life, fell silent.

Around the turn of the 5th and 6th centuries, the first Slavs began to appear in the wider area. The subsequent Slavic settlement was localized on the adjacent plain of elevated Dreveník in the form of an extensive fortified settlement (wikipedia.sk). In 1241, the castle resisted the Mongol invasion (Information board). Despite this, additional construction work further fortified it. Italian stonemasons from the North were involved in the construction work in the 13th century, who later also worked on the construction of Spiš Chapter and Spišský Štvrtok (wikipedia.sk).

The most extensive renovations were carried out by Ján Jiskra of Brandýs in the mid-15th century, creating the largest lower courtyard. Throughout its history, the castle belonged to the Zápoľskýs, Turzovci, and Čákyovci. Ján Zápoľský, who became the King of Hungary, was born at Spiš Castle. In 1780, a fire destroyed the castle, which was already abandoned by then. The castle complex includes the Romanesque Palace, the Chapel of St. Elizabeth, Zápoľský Palaces, Castle Tower, Romanesque Forecastle, Csáky Palaces, Barbican, and Jiskra’s Fortress (Information board).

Zamek Spiš jest fascynujący, nie ma wątpliwości. To najczęściej odwiedzany zamek na Słowacji.

Nazwy Zamku Spiš – castrum Scypus, castrum Scepus, castrum Kirchenberg, castrum Scepeswara, Zamek Spiš (zamky.sk). Jest narodowym zabytkiem kultury (spisskyhrad.sk), a w 1993 roku Zamek Spiš i okoliczne zabytki zostały dodane do Światowego Dziedzictwa UNESCO (spisskyhrad.com).

A Kr. e. 4. évezred első felének végén a bodrogkeresztúri kultúra embere váltotta fel őket, aki új, tökéletesebb anyagot hozott – rezet. A Kr. e. 3.

A kelták valószínűleg pénzeket is vertek itt, a Szepesi típusú fehérjekék (cestaunesco.sk). Ennek a népnek a fejlettségét számos régészeti lelet, például a Spiš típusú ezüstpénzek tanúsítják, amelyek valószínűleg a Kr. e. 1. századból származnak. A 2. század végén azonban a várat hirtelen elhagyták.

A következő szláv település a környező magas Dreveník-hegy domborzatának kiterjedt erődített városként történt (wikipedia.sk). A vár 1241-ben ellenállt a tatár támadásnak (Informačná tabuľa). Ennek ellenére további építési munkákkal megerősítették a várat. A 13. századi építési munkáknál északi olasz kőfaragómesterek is részt vettek, akik később a Szepesi Kapitula és a Spišský Štvrtok építésén is dolgoztak (wikipedia.sk).

A várkomplexum magában foglalja a román palotát, Szent Erzsébet kápolnáját, a Zápoľský palotákat, a várkört, a román elővárost, a Csáky palotákat, a barbakánt és a Jiskra erődöt (Informačná tabuľa).
