Nádrž

Hits: 21014

Kov časom hrdzavel a akvárium často tieklo.

Naozaj veľké nádrže, zväčša nad 1500 litrov sa lepia špeciálnymi a veľmi drahými materiálmi, prípadne celkom inou technológiou – jeden postup by som nazval zváranie skla. Napr.

Ak chcete mať doma nádrž do 500 litrov a dom nemá nejaké zjavné ťažkosti so statikou, starosti s hmotnosťou vášho akvária hoďte za hlavu.

Prípadne stojan“ tvorí kombinácia murovky, ocele a dreva.

Aquariums are manufactured in more or less standard dimensions. Usually, the width and height are the same, and the length is double the height. Spacious tanks are more suitable for creating beautiful aquariums as they provide a larger surface area. They can be purchased ready-made in stores or customized, including irregular shapes, beveled corners, curved glass, etc. You should choose the size of the aquarium based on the requirements of the fish and plants you intend to keep. Generally, larger aquariums are more visually appealing and easier to maintain. If you’re starting with aquaristics, consider beginning with a volume of 150 – 200 liters. In the past, popular tanks were called elementky,” made of cast glass, and used for smaller tanks up to 20 liters, but they were prone to cracking. Tanks in metal frames were also common, sealed with sealant instead of glue. Plastic tanks are often used for fish transportation and temporary setups at expos. Nowadays, tanks are bonded with silicone, with special aquarium silicone, either transparent or black, being commonly used. Black is considered more suitable as it is less affected by algae and appears more elegant. The most commonly used high-quality silicone is Perennator.

Really large tanks, typically over 1500 liters, are constructed using special and expensive materials or entirely different technologies, such as glass welding. For example, the 1,600,000-liter tank in the Tropicarium in Budapest is constructed with a partially brick wall but mainly with 14 cm thick glass acquired from a Japanese company. Larger tanks benefit from reinforcements, longitudinal strips of glass, and for tanks over 250 liters or longer than a meter, crosswise reinforcement is also suitable. To strengthen the corners, it’s excellent if the tank creator glues a narrow strip of glass along the height and along the bottom’s inner perimeter. The thickness of the glass is a crucial parameter, depending on the tank’s height. If you buy a tank from a store, it will meet the required standards. However, if you decide to build your own tank, the thickness of the glass depends on the tank’s height and can be found in literature. Aquarists should also consider insurance against tank leaks and water damage. Placing the aquarium in a darker part of the room, away from direct sunlight but not in front of a window, is advised for optimal lighting conditions. The west or east side is preferable concerning the cardinal directions. Placing the tank at eye level or slightly lower is recommended, considering both aesthetics and practical maintenance.

Especially for larger tanks, it’s essential to ensure the tank sits on a stable, level stand. A fully equipped 300-liter aquarium can weigh 400 – 500 kg. When handling the tank, caution is necessary due to its considerable weight. An ideal stand for an aquarium is made of metal, but a skillful person can create or acquire a nicely looking stand, possibly clad with wood. The tank can also be built into furniture, structures, and various technical solutions are possible. Regarding the suitable stand, consult with the manufacturer or seller, depending on the load it needs to bear. A glass cover is part of the aquarium setup. It is usually made of thinner glass than the tank walls. Having cut corners is practical, creating space for feeding and electrical cables. It is helpful if you don’t have to remove the glass every time you want to feed the fish. If you have a cat at home, a cover glass protects fish from being caught, and it’s also a safety measure for small children. Of course, a cover glass is not mandatory, and other solutions can be chosen if maximizing light transmission into the aquarium is crucial. However, the safety of alternative solutions needs to be considered. A cover glass effectively prevents water evaporation, maintaining humidity. When deciding on the type of aquarium, consider what you want to have in it.

A community aquarium is the most common type, not trying to precisely mimic nature. It typically includes fish like barbs, tetras, and smaller species with a social nature. Another type is a biotope or natural aquarium, where you try to adapt conditions as closely as possible to nature. The choice depends on your preferences and the type of aquatic environment you want to create.
