Jel­sa je men­šie mes­to. Leží medzi dvo­ma naj­vyš­ší­mi ostrov­ný­mi vrchol­mi – na zápa­de Sv. Niko­la a na výcho­de Hum. Na juhu sa týči Vrh, Samo­to­rac a Gozd.
