Obec sa nachá­dza na úpä­tí vrchu Choč (jase​no​va​.sk), v nad­mor­skej výš­ke 537 met­rov nad morom. Na plo­che 11.93 km2 žije 416 oby­va­te­ľov (Wiki­pe­dia). Od 14. do 16. sto­ro­čia sa spo­mí­na Jase­no­va lúka. V roku 1608 už osa­da Jase­no­vá mala 10 domov. V roku 1897 tu vzni­kol Gazdovsko-​potravný spo­lok, kto­ré­ho čle­no­via si posta­vi­li prvý obec­ný obchod a prvý val­co­vý mlyn na Ora­ve (Ame­ri­kán) (jase​no​va​.sk). Z Jase­no­vej pochá­dza spi­so­va­teľ Mar­tin Kuku­čín – pôvod­ne Matej Ben­cúr (jase​no​va​.sk). Naro­dil sa tu aj herec, reži­sér a sce­ná­ris­ta Ján Jam­nic­ký (Wiki­pe­dia).

The vil­la­ge is loca­ted at the foot­hills of Mount Choč (jase​no​va​.sk), at an ele­va­ti­on of 537 meters abo­ve sea level. It covers an area of 11.93 km², and is home to 416 resi­dents (Wiki­pe­dia).
From the 14th to the 16th cen­tu­ry, Jase­no­va mea­dow is men­ti­oned. In 1608, the sett­le­ment of Jase­no­vá alre­a­dy had 10 hou­ses. In 1897, the Agri­cul­tu­ral and Food Asso­cia­ti­on was estab­lis­hed here, who­se mem­bers built the first vil­la­ge shop and the first rol­ler mill in Ora­va (Ame­ri­kán) (jase​no​va​.sk). The wri­ter Mar­tin Kuku­čín, ori­gi­nal­ly Matej Ben­cúr, hails from Jase­no­vá (jase​no​va​.sk). The actor, direc­tor, and scre­en­wri­ter Ján Jam­nic­ký was also born here (Wiki­pe­dia).

Miejs­co­wo­ść leży u pod­nó­ża góry Choč (jase​no​va​.sk), na wyso­ko­ści 537 met­rów nad pozi­omem mor­za. Na powierzch­ni 11,93 km² miesz­ka 416 miesz­ka­ńców (Wiki­pe­dia). Od XIV do XVI wie­ku wspom­nia­na jest łąka Jase­no­va. W 1608 roku osa­da Jase­no­vá mia­ła już 10 domów. W 1897 roku pows­ta­ło Sto­war­zys­ze­nie Rol­nic­ze i Spo­ży­wc­ze, któ­re­go człon­ko­wie zbu­do­wa­li pier­ws­zy sklep wios­ki i pier­ws­zy młyn wal­co­wy w Ora­wie (Ame­ri­kán) (jase​no​va​.sk). 3.2.2012 sa konal na námes­tí SNP v Bra­ti­sla­ve tzv. Gori­la Pro­test. Bol to pod­ľa všet­ké­ho naj­väč­ší pro­test obča­nov Slo­ven­ska voči sta­vu spo­loč­nos­ti, voči korup­cii od roku 1989. Bola to pre mňa foto­gra­fic­ká uda­losť, sám ako občan by som sa zrej­me takej­to akcie nezú­čast­nil. Navy­še ak aj áno, zrej­me po krát­kom čase by som odišiel, pre­to­že by som sa nudil. Mal som a mám stá­le veľ­ké názo­ro­vé roz­die­ly s tým, čo chce­li, resp. neus­tá­le meni­li orga­ni­zá­to­ri. Aj s tým ako sa sprá­va­li. Chcieť pria­mu demok­ra­ciu, robiť legis­la­tí­vu cez Inter­net, dis­ku­to­vať o všet­kom a všet­ci, výmen­ný obchod apod. sú uto­pis­tic­ké až bláz­ni­vé pred­sta­vy, kto­ré sa vymy­ka­jú rea­li­te. Samot­ní orga­ni­zá­to­ri mali pek­né ide­ály, chce­li zme­niť a rie­šiť všet­ko. Mal som pocit a dis­ku­to­val som o tom s via­ce­rý­mi, že vede­nie pro­tes­tov nemá asi tuše­nie ako fun­gu­je štát. Navy­še ak vod­ca roz­prá­va o tom, že on je len oby­čaj­ný člo­vek a necí­ti sa byť vod­com, rapíd­ne strá­ca kre­dit. Šlo o prí­liš váž­ne témy. Ško­da, že sil­ne pre­vlá­da­li emó­cie nad roz­umom, ško­da že sa orga­ni­zá­to­ri nespo­ji­li s inte­li­gen­ci­ou, kul­túr­nou obcou. Chý­ba­lo pre­po­je­nie, spo­lu­prá­ca. Namies­to toho som vní­mal vyde­ľo­va­nie sa. Dnes, tak­mer po roku sú zrej­me frus­tro­va­ní, že nie je vôľa meniť stav vecí verej­ných, ako som počul v tele­ví­zii. Je veľ­ká ško­da, že sa nevy­užil poten­ciál pro­ti korup­cii. Že sa sily roz­bi­li na cel­kom odliš­ných ambí­ciách. Odpo­ru­čil by som hľa­dať chy­by v sebe. Kle­sa­jú­ci záu­jem ísť sa zúčast­niť ​“Gori­la Pro­tes­tov” je odra­zom reak­cie nás všetkých.

Ja som ešte takú davo­vú silu, aká bola pri foto­gra­fo­va­ní, keď sa dav pohol z námes­tia, ešte neza­žil. Terén – námes­tie SNP a oko­lie poznám výbor­ne. Mal som šťas­tie, keď sa dav pohol z námes­tia ku Úra­du vlá­dy, bol som na jedi­nom mies­te viac ako 10 minút. Dav elek­tri­zu­jú­co hučal, bolo to magic­ké, pov­zná­ša­jú­ce. Napriek tomu, že vlád­la cel­kom sluš­ná zima, a vte­dy už aj tma, prs­ty mrz­li. Niž­šie je výsle­dok môj­ho sna­že­nia. Veľ­ká časť foto­gra­fií je prá­ve z času, keď sa dav hýbal.

On the 3rd of Feb­ru­ary 2012, the so-​called Goril­la Pro­test took pla­ce in SNP Squ­are in Bra­ti­sla­va. It was, accor­ding to all indi­ca­ti­ons, the lar­gest pro­test of Slo­vak citi­zens against the sta­te of socie­ty and cor­rup­ti­on sin­ce 1989. It was a pho­tog­rap­hic event for me; as a citi­zen, I pro­bab­ly would not have par­ti­ci­pa­ted in such an acti­on. More­over, even if I did, I would like­ly have left short­ly after­ward becau­se I would have beco­me bored. I had and still have sig­ni­fi­cant ide­olo­gi­cal dif­fe­ren­ces with what the orga­ni­zers wan­ted or cons­tan­tly chan­ged. Also, with how they beha­ved. Desi­ring direct democ­ra­cy, making legis­la­ti­on through the Inter­net, dis­cus­sing eve­ryt­hing with eve­ry­o­ne, bar­ter, etc., are uto­pian and even cra­zy ide­as that defy rea­li­ty. The orga­ni­zers them­sel­ves had nice ide­als; they wan­ted to chan­ge and add­ress eve­ryt­hing. I had the fee­ling, and I dis­cus­sed it with seve­ral peop­le, that the lea­ders of the pro­tests pro­bab­ly had no idea how the sta­te func­ti­ons. More­over, when a lea­der talks about being just an ordi­na­ry per­son and does not feel like a lea­der, he rapid­ly loses cre­di­bi­li­ty. The­se were too seri­ous topics. It’s a pity that emo­ti­ons stron­gly pre­vai­led over rea­son, a pity that the orga­ni­zers did not con­nect with intel­li­gen­ce, the cul­tu­ral com­mu­ni­ty. The­re was a lack of con­nec­ti­on, coope­ra­ti­on. Ins­te­ad, I per­ce­i­ved divi­si­on. Today, almost a year later, they are pro­bab­ly fru­stra­ted that the­re is no will to chan­ge the sta­te of pub­lic affairs, as I heard on tele­vi­si­on. It is a gre­at pity that the poten­tial against cor­rup­ti­on was not uti­li­zed. That the for­ces bro­ke up due to enti­re­ly dif­fe­rent ambi­ti­ons. I would recom­mend looking for faults wit­hin one­self. The dec­li­ning inte­rest in par­ti­ci­pa­ting in the ​“Goril­la Pro­tests” ref­lects the reac­ti­on of all of us.

I have not expe­rien­ced such a cro­wd for­ce, as the­re was during the pho­tog­rap­hy, when the cro­wd moved from the squ­are. The ter­rain – SNP Squ­are and its sur­roun­dings – I know very well. I was for­tu­na­te when the cro­wd moved from the squ­are toward the Govern­ment Offi­ce; I was in one pla­ce for more than 10 minu­tes. The cro­wd was elect­ri­cal­ly buz­zing; it was magi­cal, uplif­ting. Des­pi­te the quite decent win­ter weat­her and the dark­ness that had alre­a­dy set in, my fin­gers were fre­e­zing. Below is the result of my efforts. A sig­ni­fi­cant por­ti­on of the pho­tog­raphs is pre­ci­se­ly from the time when the cro­wd was in motion.

Lode vždy boli spo­je­né s obja­vo­va­ním nových sve­tov. Obja­vi­teľ­ské výpra­vy umož­ni­li pre­skú­mať a pocho­piť rôz­ne kul­tú­ry. Výraz­ne dopo­moh­li ku obcho­du. Majú aj roz­mer slo­bo­dy, dob­ro­druž­stva, stá­va­li sa čas­to meta­fo­rou snov a žela­ní. Dneš­né lode posky­tu­jú luxus­ný pries­tor pre rekre­ač­né plav­by, pohod­lie a samoz­rej­me zážitky.

Ships are majes­tic ves­sels that car­ry the­ir own sto­ries. From the first wooden boats to modern cru­ise ships, they cap­ti­va­te us with the­ir diver­si­ty and his­to­ry. In pre­his­to­ric times, ships were car­ved from tree trunks. Pri­mi­ti­ve dugout cano­es gra­du­al­ly evol­ved into ste­ams­hips, ele­gant yachts fil­led with vari­ous tech­no­lo­gi­cal inno­va­ti­ons. Ships have alwa­ys been lin­ked to the explo­ra­ti­on of new worlds. Explo­ra­to­ry expe­di­ti­ons allo­wed the exa­mi­na­ti­on and unders­tan­ding of vari­ous cul­tu­res, sig­ni­fi­can­tly con­tri­bu­ting to tra­de. They also sym­bo­li­ze fre­e­dom and adven­tu­re, often beco­ming metap­hors for dre­ams and desi­res. Toda­y­’s ships pro­vi­de luxu­ri­ous spa­ces for rec­re­a­ti­onal voy­ages, offe­ring com­fort and, of cour­se, unfor­get­tab­le experiences.
