Czechia is our western neighbor. We are connected to it by a common history. After all, it was only in 1993 that the federation of Czechoslovakia dissolved. The capital city is Prague. The so-called father of the country is Charles IV.

Česko tvoria Čechy, Morava a Sliezsko. Geologicky Český masív a Západné Karpaty. Prvé osídlenie siaha do staršej doby kamennej, zhruba 28000 rokov pred n. l. (Wikipedia.sk). The official name of the state is the Czech Republic, simply Czechia. Some of the public rejects the word Czechia. Karol IV. pripojil Braniborsko, Lužice a Sliezsko (Wikipedia.cs).

In the 1st century, Germanic tribes, such as the Quadi and Marcomanni, migrated to this territory. According to some historians, for example, Balázs Komoróczy, there was an attempt by the Romans to create the province of Marcomania on part of the territory during the rule of Marcus Aurelius, with its center likely in southern Moravia, possibly in Mušov (Wikipedia.cs). By the beginning of the 5th century, the population decreased, with a part likely leaving in 409 with the Vandals and Alans. In the first half of the 5th century, due to the departure of the Marcomanni to Noricum, the region was affected. There was probably an influence of the Hun invasion led by Attila on the Morava in the late 5th century. By the end of the 5th century, against the current of the Elbe, the Lombards and Thuringians reached Bohemia. In the second half of the 6th century, Slavic tribes arrived here (Wikipedia.cs). In the 7th century, a part of the territory became part of the Samo Empire. In the 9th century, it became part of Great Moravia. Unification occurred in the 10th century through the efforts of the Přemyslid dynasty (Wikipedia.sk). The Czech Kingdom, established in 1198, reached its peak of power under the rule of the last Přemyslids and Charles IV. During the reign of Přemysl Otakar II, it extended beyond the Alps to the Adriatic Sea. Wenceslaus II acquired territories through Poland to the Baltic Sea, while Wenceslaus III gained Hungarian territories. Charles IV annexed Brandenburg, Lusatia, and Silesia (Wikipedia.cs).

The victory at the Battle of White Mountain in 1620 contributed to the final elimination of the last remnants of independence.
