Čertovica je najvyššie položené slovenské cestné sedlo, vo výške 1 232 metrov nad morom. Nachádza sa medzi Bocianskou dolinou (Liptovom) a dolinou Štiavničky (Horehroním). Z geologického hľadiska je jediným miestom kde na povrch vystupuje rozhranie medzi tatrikom a veporikom – tzv. Čertovická línia (Wikipedia). Sedlo rozdeľuje Ďumbierske Tatry na západe a Kráľovohoľské Tatry na východe v rámci Nízkych Tatier (nizketatry.sk). Sedlo je dôležitým turistickým východiskovým bodom najmä pre Nízke Tatry (horehronie.sk). Na okolí je viac ako 40 km bežkárskych tratí, lyžiarske stredisko (Sedlo Čertovica).

Čertovica is the highest road mountain pass in Slovakia, situated at an elevation of 1,232 metres above sea level. It is located between the Boca Valley (the Liptov region) and the Štiavnička Valley (the Horehronie region). From a geological perspective, it is the only place where the boundary between the Tatric and Veporic tectonic units reaches the surface—the so‑called Čertovica Line (Wikipedia). The pass divides the Ďumbier Tatras in the west and the Kráľova Hoľa Tatras in the east within the Low Tatras (nizketatry.sk). It is an important starting point for tourism, especially in the Low Tatras (horehronie.sk). The surrounding area offers more than 40 km of cross‑country skiing trails as well as a ski resort (Sedlo Čertovica).

Bežkovanie, lyžovanie, sánkovanie, stavanie snehuliakov sú len niektoré z činností, ktoré sú charakteristické pre zimu.
