Podkylava je oblasť pri obci Krajné. Kopaničiarska obec Podkylava sa v roku 1709 spomína ako súčasť Čachtického panstva (Informačná tabuľa). Podkylava má dve časti: Zbehy a Podkylavu. Meno je odvodené od rovnomenného potoka. V minulosti bolo toto územie zalesnené, zlom nastal kopaničiarskym životom v 16. storočí. Vtedy sa začal les klčovať a vypaľovať s cieľom zisku úrodnej pôdy. Ženy sa paličkovaniu čipiek venovali ešte v polovici 20. storočia (podkylava.sk). O obci sa nachádza súbor hlinených domov, ojedinele aj so slamenou strechou. Vstupy do domov sú riešené výpustkom, steny sú vypletané prútím (Wikipedia).
Podkylava is an area near the village of Krajné. The hamlet of Podkylava was mentioned as part of the Čachtice estate in 1709 (Information Board). Podkylava consists of two parts: Zbehy and Podkylava. The name is derived from the stream of the same name. In the past, this area was forested, but a significant change occurred with the lifestyle of the „kopaničiari“ (settlers) in the 16th century. At that time, the forest began to be cleared and burned to obtain fertile land. Women were still engaged in lace bobbin-making in the mid-20th century (podkylava.sk). The village features a collection of clay houses, some with thatched roofs. The entrances to the houses are designed with a small protruding section, and the walls are woven with twigs (Wikipedia).
