Čachtické Karpaty cestou na Čachtický hrad

Hits: 3322

Čachtické Karpaty do sústavy chránených území NATURA 2000. Prevažnú časť územia európskeho významu pokrývajú lesné , najmä teplomilné panónske dubové , menej zastúpené sú vápnomilné bukové lesy a najmenej lipovo-javorové sutinové lesy. Významný je výskyt xerotermných nelesných biotopov, rastie tu napr. klinček včasný Lumnitzerov – Dianthus praecox subsp. lumnitzeri, ktorý tu dosahuje severnú hranicu svojho rozšírenia. Ďalej viaceré druhy vstavačov – Orchidaceae. So živočíchov napr.: Saga pedo, jašterica zelená – Lacerta viridis, užovka stromová – Zamenis longissimus, syseľ pasienkový – Spermophilus citellus. Územie je ohrozované zarastaním travinno-bylinných spoločenstiev drevinami, intenzívnou turistikou a nepôvodnou borovicou čiernou – Pinus nigra (sopsr.sk).

The surroundings of Čachtice are quite interesting for a photographer. On my way to Čachtice Castle, I took some photographs. Nearby is the protected area of Veľký Plešivec, and in the Nedzovský Karst, there are caves inaccessible to the public (Information board). Čachtice Carpathians are one of the four subunits of the Little Carpathians, being their northernmost part. To the south, they connect to the Pezinok Carpathians, separated from them by the Podkylavský stream and Holeška. They are distinctly separated from the Danubian Hills by a fault line. They are further divided into Plešivec and the more northern Nedze. Four protected areas are represented here: Čachtická Cave, Čachtice Castle Hill, Málová, and Plešivec. In the central part of the Čachtice Carpathians lies the Čachtický Karst (Wikipedia).

The Čachtice Carpathians are part of the NATURA 2000 system of protected areas. The predominant part of the European significance area is covered by forest biotopes, especially warm Pannonian oak forests, less represented are calcareous beech forests, and the least represented are lime-maple scree forests. The occurrence of xerothermic non-forest biotopes is significant; for example, the early pink – Dianthus praecox subsp. lumnitzeri, which reaches the northern limit of its distribution here. Also, several species of orchids – Orchidaceae, and various animals such as Saga pedo, European green lizard – Lacerta viridis, Aesculapian snake – Zamenis longissimus, and European ground squirrel – Spermophilus citellus. The area is threatened by the overgrowth of grass and herb communities by trees, intensive tourism, and the non-native black pine – Pinus nigra (sopsr.sk).

Višňové is a village situated beneath Čachtický hrad (Čachtice Castle). The castle is visible from almost the entire village, and the journey to it can be accomplished in about thirty minutes. The village has been known since 1392 (Source: Informational plaque). In 1392, the village is mentioned as Bysnew, later as Wisnyowe, Visnove, Visnyó, Alsóvisnyó. In 1715, there were 21 households, and by 1787, the number had increased to 58 houses with 403 inhabitants (obecvisnove.sk). The village is home to a bell tower from 1899, and there is also a cave in the vicinity, not yet accessible to the public (Source: Informational plaque). The village is said to have derived its name from wild cherries, or alternatively, from the word „viššie,“ meaning higher (obecvisnove.sk). As of December 31, 2005, the village had 186 inhabitants (obecvisnove.sk). Above Višňové is Čachtický hrad (Čachtice Castle), and the quickest route to reach it is from Višňové, as the castle ruins can be seen on the hill in photographs.
