Obyce sa nachádzajú neďaleko od Topoľčianok, na severovýchod od Zlatých Moraviec. Ležia na rieke Žitava, ale sú takmer zo všetkých strán obkolesené horami. Nachádzajú sa tu viaceré pramene pitnej vody. Počas druhej svetovej vojny to bola partizánska obec. Žijú tu dobrosrdeční a pracovití ľudia. Prvé písomné zmienky o Obyciach sú už z roku 1075 v listine Svätobeňadického opátstva sa spomína medzi majetkom „Ebedec„. Iné historické názvy Obýc: Ebedec, Edeci, Ebeydyz, Ebedech, Ebedych, Ebdecz. Koncom 18. storočia bola v Obyciach papierňa. Zanikla asi v roku 1840, ale dodnes sa zachoval pre túto oblasť názov „Papierňa“, napriek tomu, že tam dnes stojí horáreň (obyce.eu).
Obyce is situated near Topoľčianky, northeast of Zlaté Moravce. It is located along the Žitava River but is surrounded by mountains from almost all sides. Several sources of drinking water can be found in the area. During World War II, Obyce served as a partisan village. The inhabitants are known for being kind-hearted and hardworking. The first written records of Obyce date back to 1075, mentioned in a document of the Svätobeňadické opátstvo abbey as part of the property „Ebedec.“ Obyce had various historical names, including Ebedec, Edeci, Ebeydyz, Ebedech, Ebedych, Ebdecz. In the late 18th century, there was a paper mill in Obyce, which ceased to exist around 1840. However, the name „Papierňa“ (Paper Mill) still persists in the area, despite the fact that there is now a mountain hut there (obyce.eu).
