Horné Považie je región na západe Slovenska, ktorý sa rozprestiera v okolí rieky Váh. Medzi významné mestá v regióne patrí napríklad Trenčín, Považská Bystrica a Ilava. Na severe sa nachádza pohorie Malá Fatra, vhodná na turistiku a iné outdoorové aktivity. V minulosti sa na Hornom Považí ťažila železná ruda.
Horné Považie tvoria okresy Žilina, Bytča, Považská Bystrica a severná časť okresu Púchov (slovakregion.sk). Geograficky je Horné Považie charakteristické hornatým reliéfom – územie pokrývajú pohoria ako Malá Fatra, Javorníky, Strážovské vrchy či Súľovské vrchy, ako aj časti Kysuckej vrchoviny a Žilinskej pahorkatiny. Najvyšším vrcholom v širšom okolí je Veľký fatranský Kriváň (1 709 metrov nad morom). Centrom regiónu je mesto Žilina, dôležitý dopravný a kultúrny uzol (slovakregion.sk). Región je známy aj svojou bohatou históriou. Počas stredoveku tu vznikali dôležité pevnosti a hrady, ktoré strážili údolie Váhu a obchodné trasy – medzi najznámejšie patria Strečniansky hrad, Považský hrad, Budatínsky zámok či renesančný zámok v Bytči (Wikipedia). Horné Považie ponúka aj turistiku, cyklistiku, horolezectvo, návštevy prírodných rezervácií ako Manínska tiesňava (spoznajslovensko.eu). Zámok v Kuneráde, unikátne maľované drevenice v Čičmanoch, pohyblivý betlehem v Rajeckej Lesnej. Unikátne sú Súľovské skaly a veľký Lietavský hrad.
Upper Váh Region is a region in the western part of Slovakia, located around the Váh River. Among the most important towns in the region are Trenčín, Považská Bystrica, and Ilava. To the north lies the Malá Fatra mountain range, which is ideal for hiking and other outdoor activities. In the past, iron ore was mined in this region.

The region is also known for its rich history. During the Middle Ages, several important castles and fortresses were built to protect the Váh Valley and trade routes – among the most notable are Strečno Castle, Považský Castle, Budatín Castle, and the Renaissance manor house in Bytča (source: Wikipedia).
Upper Váh Region also offers hiking, cycling, climbing, and visits to natural reserves, such as the Manínska Gorge (source: spoznajslovensko.eu). Other attractions include Kunerad Castle, the unique painted wooden houses in Čičmany, and the mechanical nativity scene in Rajecká Lesná. The Súľov Rocks and the large Lietava Castle are also among the region’s unique landmarks.
