Zakopane – goralské aj lyžiarske stredisko Vysokých Tatier

Hits: 3452

V 19. storočí bolo centrom ťažobného a hutníckeho priemyslu. Zakopane hostilo viackrát majstrovstvá sveta v klasickom lyžovaní, v biatlone, svetový pohár v lyžovaní, zimnú univerziádu apod. (Wikipedia.en). Býva prezývané zimným hlavným mestom Poľska. Zároveň je najvyššie položeným mestom v Poľsku. Poprad a Vysoké Tatry sú partnerskými mestami (Wikipedia.cz).

Zakopane is a well-known tourist resort in southern Poland. It can be said that it serves as the gateway to the High Tatras. The town is famous for its ski resort and bridge. I noticed, not only here but also in other towns in Poland, that people live differently than just a few kilometers away in Slovakia. The houses are more generously built, and the density is not as high as it is with us. There is a consideration for people to live here and not just survive. I didn’t see as many high walls, gates; everything seemed more open and accessible to me. It caught my eye a lot, probably because I was returning to Slovakia from there through Orava. I also noticed that people here are calmer, probably more tolerant, at least behind the wheel. It is located in the Podhale region. It is the center of the highland culture, a popular destination for mountaineering, skiing, and hiking. In the 17th century, it was mentioned as Zakopisko. In the 19th century, it was a center of mining and metallurgical industry. Zakopane hosted several world championships in classical skiing, biathlon, the Ski World Cup, the Winter Universiade, etc. (Wikipedia.en). It is known as the winter capital of Poland and, at the same time, is the highest-located city in Poland. Poprad and the High Tatras are partner cities (Wikipedia.cz). The most frequented street is Krupówki, where you can taste traditional smoked oscypek cheese (Repta). In the 19th century, Polish intellectual and artistic elites gathered in the wooden cafes of Zakopane. It was advantageous to show up in Zakopane – the natural and rural counterpart to Krakow and Warsaw (sme.sk).

Zakopane to znane ośrodek turystyczny w południowej Polsce. To centrum kultury góralskiej, popularny cel wspinaczek, narciarstwa i turystyki.
