medzi pôsobivé a esteticky príťažlivé techniky. Objekty by mali byť jasne definované a ľahko rozpoznateľné podľa obrysov.

Silhouettes are among impressive and aesthetically appealing photography techniques. They involve photographing objects or people as dark contours against a bright background. This style is particularly popular due to its ability to emphasize shapes and lines, create dramatic atmospheres, and evoke emotions. The photographed subject appears as a dark shape against a significantly brighter background. The subject is often underexposed, capturing only its outer outline. Faces, details, and textures are usually hidden in shadows, while the surroundings are properly exposed. The best time to create silhouettes is during sunrise or sunset, or in strong backlighting conditions. Subjects should have clearly defined shapes and be easily recognizable by their outlines.

Korunovali tu 11 uhorských kráľov a 8 kráľovských manželiek (bratislava.sk). Po nedávnej rekonštrukcii korunu už naspäť nevrátili.

Dóm Svätého Martina (St. Martin’s Cathedral)

The three-nave Gothic church is one of the largest Gothic sacral buildings in Slovakia. It was built on the site of the original Romanesque church. Construction began at the beginning of the 14th century, and it was consecrated in 1452. The church tower was built simultaneously with the three aisles of the church, serving as part of the city fortification and defense. Its total height reaches 85 meters, and at the top, it is crowned with a gilded cushion measuring 2 x 2 meters, topped by a 1-meter high replica of the Hungarian royal crown weighing 300 kg. From 1563 to 1830, the cathedral witnessed the coronations of Hungarian kings. It saw the coronation of 11 Hungarian kings and 8 royal consorts (bratislava.sk). After a recent reconstruction, the crown has not been returned.

A háromhajós gótikus templom a legnagyobb gótikus szakrális épületek közé tartozik Szlovákiában.

It is the only preserved gate of the medieval city fortification. Originally a Gothic gate through which the long-distance road from Moravia entered the city, it is mentioned in 1411, but it was built in the first half of the 14th century. In the years 1511-13, it was raised by an octagonal superstructure, and in the years 1753-58, it was reconstructed into its current form, when a statue of St. Michael was placed on top of the 51-meter-high baroque tower. A protective barbican was added to the tower during the strengthening of the city fortification. Today, the tower houses an exhibition of weapons and city fortifications (bratislava.sk).

Sošky anjelov nad balkónom v centrálnej časti fasády držia dve písmená I – Iusticia = spravodlivosť a C – Clementia = Láskavosť – osobné heslo kardinála.

Primatial Palace

This neoclassical palace is one of the most representative palace buildings in Bratislava. It was built between 1778 and 1781 for the Archbishop Jozef Bathyány of Esztergom. The attic of the roof features allegorical statues and vases. At the top of the tympanum, the coat of arms of Jozef Bathyány and a cardinal’s hat weighing 150 kg are placed. In the tympanum, instead of the original fresco, there is now a mosaic. The angel statues above the balcony in the central part of the facade hold two letters, I – Iustitia (Justice), and C – Clementia (Clemency) – the personal motto of the cardinal. In the entrance hall of the palace, on the right side, there is a memorial plaque commemorating the so-called Bratislava (Pressburg) Peace, a document signed here on December 26, 1805, after the Battle of the Three Emperors near Slavkov. In the courtyard of the palace, there is a Renaissance fountain of Saint George, and in the corner of the courtyard is the entrance to the chapel of Saint Ladislaus. On the upper floor, there is the Mirror Hall, which witnessed the signing of the Bratislava Peace in 1805 between Napoleonic France and Habsburg Austria after the Battle of Slavkov. In 1848, King Ferdinand I signed a document abolishing serfdom in Hungary here. The representative spaces house the collections of the Bratislava City Gallery, including a unique collection of six tapestries from the 17th century depicting the tragic love of Hero and Leander, from the English royal weaving workshop in Mortlake. Since 1903, the palace has been owned by the city and currently serves as the residence of the mayor of the city (bratislava.sk). City council meetings take place in the Mirror Hall of the Primatial Palace.

Primatialpalais

A homlokzat központi részén lévő erkély felett lévő angyalszobrok két betűt tartanak, I – Iustitia (igazságosság) és C – Clementia (Jóság) – a bíboros személyes mottóját. 1848-ban I. Ferdinánd király itt írta alá a jobbágyság eltörléséről szóló dokumentumot Magyarországon. A reprezentatív terekben látható a Bratislava Galéria gyűjteménye, amelynek része a 17. századból származó hat faliszőnyeg egyedülálló gyűjteménye, amely Hero és Leander tragikus szerelmét ábrázolja, a Mortlake angol királyi szövőműhelyből. A palota 1903 óta a város tulajdona, jelenleg a város polgármesterének rezidenciája (bratislava.sk). A városházi tanács ülései a Prímási palota Tükrös termében zajlanak.

Fountain of St. George and the Dragon

According to legend, George was an officer in the Roman army. One day, he came to a town terrorized by a dragon. Initially, the dragon was satisfied with a daily supply of livestock, but later, it began demanding young girls. Desperate, the people selected victims by drawing lots. George arrived in the town when the lot fell on the king’s daughter. He killed the dragon with his spear and became a symbol of a knight triumphing over evil (bratislava.sk).

Először a sárkány a mindennapi marhahús-szállítmánnyal megelégedett, később azonban fiatal lányokat kezdett követelni. A kétségbeesett emberek a sorsolás útján választották az áldozatokat. György akkor érkezett a városba, amikor a király leánya esett ki a sorsolásból. Megölte a sárkányt lándzsájával, és a lovagot szimbólummá vált, aki legyőzi a gonoszt (bratislava.sk).

Rolandova fontána pred Starou radnicou – kamenná renesančná fontána s kruhovou nádržou ozdobenou maskarónmi a so stredovým pilierom na ktorom stojí postava stredovekého rytiera v brnení.

Old Town Hall

In the 14th century, there was a house with a tower on the site of today’s Old Town Hall, built by the mayor Jakub. The Old Town Hall was formed in the 15th century by merging several neighboring bourgeois houses on the Main Square, and over the centuries, it underwent several reconstructions. After the earthquake in 1599, it was rebuilt in the Renaissance style, and the town hall tower was reconstructed in the Baroque style after a fire in the 18th century. In 1912, a rear wing was added in the Neo-Renaissance style from the courtyard side and in the Neo-Gothic style from Primaciálne Square. The town hall tower served a defensive purpose. When looking at the tower from the Main Square, you will find several interesting features – on the plinth, there is a plaque with the date February 1850, reminding of the water level during a flood when the Danube overflowed its banks. To the left of the Gothic window, at the level of the 1st floor, there is a walled cannonball reminding of the attacks by Napoleon’s armies in 1809. On the corner of the tower stands a statue of the Madonna from 1676. From the tower balcony, decisions of the parliament, royal decrees, and city council regulations were announced in the past. On the facade to the right of the Renaissance arcade, you can notice a fresco of an old man – a usurer from 1533. The City Museum is one of the oldest museums in Central Europe, founded in 1868. In the courtyard corner, there is an entrance to the exhibition of feudal justice and the history of the city. Concerts and theater performances take place on the Renaissance arcade courtyard in the summer (bratislava.sk).

Roland Fountain in front of the Old Town Hall – a stone Renaissance fountain with a circular basin adorned with mascarons and a central pillar on which stands the figure of a medieval knight in armor. The statue depicts the legendary guardian of municipal rights, Roland. In the lower part of the pillar, there is a smaller shell-shaped basin into which water sprays from the mouths of fish held by figurines – the so-called putti. Water was originally brought to the fountain through wooden pipes. The fountain was created for practical reasons at a time when there was a noticeable shortage of water in the city, as a direct response to a major fire that broke out during the coronation celebration of Maximilian and devastated a large part of the homes in the city. It is assumed that the author depicted the face of the then ruler on the statue of Roland (bratislava.sk).

Altes Rathaus

A városháza tornya védelmi célt szolgált.

A szobor Rolandot, a városi jogok őrzőjét ábrázolja. Az oszlop alsó részén egy kisebb kagylós medence található, amelybe víz spriccel a putti nevű halalakok szájából. A vizet eredetileg fa csöveken keresztül vezették a kúthoz.

Blue Church – Church of St. Elizabeth

The single-nave Secessionist Blue Church of St. Elizabeth with a cylindrical tower was built between 1910 and 1913 according to the design of Budapest architect Edmund Lechner. The church was constructed by the Pittel and Brausewetter company, which pioneered the use of reinforced concrete structures in the church’s architecture, supporting both the church vault and the organ loft. The church’s floor plan follows traditional styles, incorporating many elements borrowed from them. However, a completely new feature is the ornate plasterwork that imitates oriental ornamentation. The central element of the church’s front facade is a mosaic featuring the figure of St. Elizabeth holding roses in her cloak. Roses are also a fundamental element of the interior ornamentation. With this construction, Lechner created a new Hungarian national architectural style. The dedication of the Church of St. Elizabeth also reflected Hungarian national sentiment. St. Elizabeth was a native Hungarian saint from the royal Arpad dynasty (likely born in Bratislava Castle), and the church was intended to serve as a symbolic mausoleum for Empress Elizabeth (Sissi), the wife of Franz Joseph I (bratislava.sk).

A templom alaprajza a hagyományos stílusokat követi, sok elemet kölcsönöz tőlük. A rózsák a belső díszítés alapvető elemei is. A Szent Erzsébet-templom felszentelése is tükrözte a magyar nemzeti érzelmeket. Szent Erzsébet egy született magyar szent volt az Arpád-dinasztia királyi családjából (valószínűleg Pozsony várán született), és a templom szimbolikus mauzóleumként is szolgált Erzsébet császárné (Sissi), I. Ferenc József felesége számára (bratislava.sk).

Slovenské národné – historická budova

Pôvodne na mieste SND stálo tzv. Stavovské divadlo postavené v rokoch 1774 až 1776. Budova slúžila obecenstvu s viacerými neskoršími úpravami až do roku 1884, teda viac než sto rokov. V súčasnosti v ňom sídlo opera a balet.

Obvod kamennej fontány lemujú korytnačky, žaby a raky a podopierajú ju postavičky štyroch detí, ktoré držia štyri druhy dunajských rýb – kapra, sumca, zubáča a šťuku. Z papulí rýb strieka voda a padá do nádrže (bratislava.sk).

Slovak National Theatre – Historical Building

Originally, at the location of the Slovak National Theatre (SND), there stood the so-called Stavovské Theatre, built from 1774 to 1776. The building served the audience with several later modifications until 1884, more than a hundred years. After unfortunate fires in theater buildings in other cities, especially after the Vienna theater fire in 1881, the city of Prešporok (now Bratislava) decided to build a new theater building. It was constructed from 1885 to 1886. The operation in the new building opened on September 22, 1886, with a performance of the opera Bánk Bán by composer Ferenc Erkel, who himself conducted the first performance. Even after World War I, performances were held in the new building in both Hungarian and German. Gradually, actors from the Slovak National Theatre also took to its stage. Throughout the theater’s long history, it hosted the most significant personalities of the global opera scene, including F. Shalyapin, P. Mascagni, R. Strauss, G. Filip, M. Freni, P. Cappuccilli, R. Reznikov, J. Obrazcovová, and dancers like M. Fonteyn, A. Alonso, V. Vasiliev, and many others. Currently, it houses the opera and ballet. It nurtured many prominent figures in the opera scene, such as Peter Dvorský, J. Kundlák, J. Galla, E. Jenisová, E. Grúberová, L. Poppová, who performed on the most famous world stages (bratislava.sk).

The Ganymede Fountain in front of the Slovak National Theatre dates back to 1888. The eagle with the boy represents Zeus transformed into a bird of prey, carrying the beautiful boy Ganymede to Olympus, the abode of the gods. The perimeter of the stone basin of the fountain is adorned with turtles, frogs, and crayfish, supported by small figures of four children holding four types of Danube fish – carp, catfish, pikeperch, and pike. Water sprouts from the fish papules and falls into the basin (bratislava.sk).

Fokozatosan a Szlovák Nemzeti Színház társulatának színészei is megjelentek a színpadon. A színház hosszú története során a globális operaszínház legjelentősebb személyiségei léptek fel itt, köztük F. Salyapin, P. Mascagni, R. Strauss, G. Filip, M. Freni, P. Cappuccilli, R. Reznikov, J. Obrazcovová, és olyan táncosok, mint M. Fonteyn, A. Alonso, V. Vasiliev, és sokan mások. Jelenleg opera és balett működik itt. Sok jelentős operaszínházi személyiséget nevelt ki, például Peter Dvorský, J. Kundlák, J. Galla, E. Jenisová, E. Grúberová, L. Poppová, akik a világ legismertebb színpadain léptek fel (bratislava.sk).

A Ganymede-kút a Szlovák Nemzeti Színház előtt 1888-ból származik.

Pred tržnicou sa nachádza fontána Lev s erbom, ktorú zložili zo súčastí starších fontán a renovovali ju v roku 1937 (bratislava.sk).

Old Market Hall

Originally, at the location of the Old Market Hall, there was a bastion that belonged to the city fortifications since the 15th century. In 1910, a building in the eclectic style was constructed on this site – the first covered market in Bratislava, which served until 1960. After years of neglect, this technical monument was renovated, and by 1999, it was once again functioning as a market. In front of the market, there is a fountain with a lion and the city’s coat of arms, assembled from parts of older fountains and renovated in 1937 (bratislava.sk).

Alte Markthalle

Myšlienka usporiadať Silvestrovský beh v Piešťanoch vznikla na roku 1965, keď traja nadšenci atletiky – Anton Javorka, Walter Schwarz a František Rašla – rozhodli zorganizovať prvý ročník tohto .

New Year’s Eve in , as I remember, was usually celebrated with an „official – grand“ fireworks display. In the past, it was mostly launched from the banks of the River, approximately at the level of the EVA swimming pool. Therefore, most spectators watched it from the Colonnade Bridge. It had its charm, and the fiery effects over the water were more beautiful in such a setting. In 2010, the fireworks were launched from the roof of the Aupark in a closed area. This was quite an unfortunate decision. The view was really limited, and its potential was significantly reduced. Smaller fireworks displays also took place in 2010 and in the past at various locations across the city.

The New Year’s Eve Run in Piešťany is one of the oldest and most prestigious running events in Slovakia, with a rich history dating back to 1965. It is held annually on December 30th on the Spa Island, with the route crossing the Piešťany bridges – the Colonnade Bridge and the Country Bridge. This run has become an inseparable part of the city’s sports calendar and attracts runners even from abroad. The idea to organize the New Year’s Eve Run in Piešťany was conceived in the autumn of 1965 when three athletics enthusiasts – Anton Javorka, Walter Schwarz, and František Rašla – decided to hold the first edition of this event. They were inspired by the popular New Year’s Eve Run in São Paulo, Brazil. The first edition took place on December 30th, 1965, with 30 competitors. Since then, the event has been held annually, with a few exceptions (silvestrovskybeh.sk).

The New Year’s Eve Run offers several categories for different age and performance groups. The main course is 10 kilometers long and is certified by the Slovak Athletics Association. For less experienced runners, a 4-kilometer course is prepared. Additionally, the event includes children’s races. For those who prefer team spirit, a 10-kilometer relay race is available, allowing teams with up to five members to participate (silvestrovskybeh.sk). Competitor registration takes place at the Napoleon Spa House on the Spa Island. Participants have access to changing rooms, showers, and the opportunity to use the outdoor thermal water pool at the Eva swimming pool. Each participant receives a commemorative medal upon finishing the race (silvestrovskybeh.sk). In 2024, a record number of participants was recorded when the capacity of one thousand competitors was filled even before the event. Matúš Hujsa won the overall ranking with a time of 32:54 minutes (pnky.sk). During the race, approximately 270 liters of hot tea are consumed, and about 63 volunteers ensure its smooth progress (facebook.com).

Stromy čelia rôznym hrozbám, vrátane odlesňovania, klimatických zmien a chorôb. Odlesňovanie znižuje biodiverzitu a zvyšuje množstvo oxidu uhličitého v atmosfére.

stromov majú schopnosť zachytiť nádheru a pôsobivosť prírody v jedinom snímku.

Ich výrazné črty môžu vyprávať príbehy o histórii a živote v ich okolí. Kombinácia techniky, kreativity a vnímania krásy v každom jednotlivom strome môže viesť k tvorbe úžasných a dojemných fotografií.

Trees, with their distinctive trunks and branching crowns, stand as remarkable masterpieces of nature and serve as fundamental building blocks of ecosystems worldwide. These living organisms are incredibly efficient, resilient, and enduring. However, trees face various threats, including deforestation, climate change, and diseases. Deforestation reduces biodiversity and increases the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Climate changes may lead to the spread of diseases and unwanted species that can harm trees. Protecting trees involves maintaining their natural habitats, sustainable timber harvesting, and supporting research to address diseases and pests. Trees represent a key element of nature; their conservation and sustainable management are essential not only for their preservation but also for humanity.

Trees have a complex structure that enables them to thrive in various conditions. Their basic parts include roots, trunk, branches, leaves, and fruits. Roots anchor the tree in the soil and absorb nutrients, while the trunk provides support and houses the transport system for water and nutrients. Branches and leaves facilitate photosynthesis, the process by which trees use sunlight to produce energy and generate oxygen. Fruits contain seeds used for reproduction. Trees form extensive ecosystems that provide shelter and food for numerous organisms. Their trunks and branches serve as habitats for birds, insects, and other creatures. Trees help maintain soil quality and create a microclimate in their surroundings. Their significance in ecosystems also lies in capturing and storing carbon dioxide. Trees have economic importance, providing wood used in various industries, from construction to furniture production. Additionally, they supply raw materials for the paper industry, and many plants and medicinal compounds come from trees, contributing to cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications.

Photographing trees allows for the capture of the beauty and grandeur of nature in a single frame. Each tree, with its unique shape and character, offers photographers endless creative possibilities. The photographic interpretation of trees can showcase their majesty, resilience, and relationship with the environment. Composition and perspective play a crucial role in tree photography. Creating contrasts between trees and other elements of nature, such as mountains, lakes, or the sky, can add drama to the photograph. Experimenting with different angles, including low shots or capturing multiple branches, can yield unusual and captivating results. Light is a key factor in tree photography. Early morning or evening hours can create warm and soft lights that highlight the texture of the bark and the colors of the leaves. Contrastive light creates shadow play, adding drama to the image. Shots with striking sunlight rays or reflections can provide a beautiful and impactful effect. Fog can separate spaces and make even something as large as a tree stand out.

Tree photography sometimes captures not only the trees themselves but also the diversity of their surroundings. Including various plant species, flowers, or natural elements in the composition can add another dimension and color contrast. Likewise, capturing birds, insects, or other wildlife associated with tree life enhances the richness of the photograph. Many tree species stand out for their uniqueness and interest. Bonsai, sequoias, or ancient trees with distinctive shapes and age can be excellent subjects. Their remarkable features can tell stories about history and life in their environment. The combination of technique, creativity, and appreciation of beauty in each individual tree can lead to the creation of fascinating and poignant photographs.

Z halštatskej doby železný sekeromlat a skýtske strelky. Neďaleko hradiska na južnom svahu Marhátu sa našlo osem otvorených nákrčníkov so stočenými očkami na koncoch, otvorený nákrčník so zašpicatenými koncami, dva kosáky s jazykovitou rukoväťou, sekerka s tuľajkou a postranným uškom, dláto s tuľajkou, dva tyčinkovité náramky s geometricky rytou výzdobou a plechový špirálovitý náramok bez výzdoby z doby 8. storočia p.n.l.. Nález spadá do lužickej kultúry. Z doby laténskej pochádza strieborná bójska minca s okrídleným koníkom z polovice 2. st. pnl., fragmenty spôn a strelky so spätným háčikom a spona s voľnou pätkou.

Z nich som pokračoval cez Výtoky, Moravany až do Piešťan.

Peak Marhát is the highest point of the Krahulčie vrchy, situated at an elevation of 748.2 meters above sea level. The summit hosted prehistoric settlements, including a hillfort from the late Bronze Age and early Iron Age. The Hallstatt hillfort was fortified with an embankment and stone structure, serving as a crucial guard point for the trade route across Považský Inovec from Ponitria to Považie. Terraced settlements have been preserved on the southeast slopes (idnes.cz). The name Marhát is derived from the names „Marharii, Mereheni,“ which referred to ancient Moravian tribes (rotundajurko.sk). As the trade route shifted over time, the significance of the hillfort as a guard post diminished. Ceramics and occasional findings of iron and bronze objects from the late Bronze Age and Iron Age have been discovered in the vicinity. Noteworthy artifacts include an Iron Age axe-hammer and Scythian arrows. Eight open neck rings with coiled ends, a neck ring with pointed ends, two sickles with tongue-shaped handles, an axe with a socket, a chisel with a socket, two rod-shaped bracelets with geometrically incised decorations, and a spiral-like metal bracelet without ornamentation from the 8th century BCE were found near the hillfort. This discovery is associated with the Lusatian culture. From the La Tène period, a silver Boii coin with a winged horse from the mid-2nd century BCE, fragments of buckles, and arrows with a barbed hook and a buckle with a free heel have been unearthed. Approximately half of the settlements from the Hallstatt period in the vicinity are located around the Marhát hillfort (nitrianskablatnica.sk). In the 9th century, a hillfort refuge was established on Marhát (Marek).

Marhát forms a barrier primarily protecting the villages of Nitrianska Blatnica, Vozokany, and Lipovník. Due to geological conditions, the terrain is very rugged. The historical context, majesty, and proximity of Marhát likely inspired the tradition of New Year’s Eve hikes, which began around 1947. On October 28, 1947, the people of Blatnica erected a large iron cross on the summit as thanks to God for protection during World War II (mana2.sk). The initiative for the construction came from the then-priest of Blatnica, Ján Laktiš (mana2.sk). The cross bore the inscription „God, protect the tourists.“ Later, an observation tower was built on Marhát, offering a beautiful view of the surroundings. Since the fall of 2008, a new 17-meter-high observation tower has been in place. It provides a view of the castles Tematín, Čachtice, Uhrovec, Gymeš, and Oponice (Piešťanský týždeň). Supposedly, under ideal conditions, the borders of the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Austria can be seen from Marhát (rotundajurko.sk). A new cross has now been placed at the highest point.

Climbs are always organized on December 31. Since 1971, these climbs have been organized under the auspices of organized tourists. Today, the climbs are organized by the Slovak Tourist Club TJ Bezovec Piešťany. Participants receive a diploma, primarily appreciated by children. An interesting idea was the Marhát euro-ducat in 2008. A small refreshment awaits tourists at the summit – bacon, sausages, tea. Fireplaces are prepared. Many find it useful to replenish their strength, have some fun, or at least greet and wish each other a happy New Year. Some even sing together. Many only meet this way on New Year’s Eve. Every year, a group photo is taken under the banner. These and other similar photos are a nice memory. Some of these photos from the past are on the shelters under the observation tower. The Bezovec club also has a chronicle of such photos. Summit books, containing many interesting references, are also archived under the observation tower. They offer a diverse picture of who comes to Marhát and from where. The event officially ends at lunchtime. Nevertheless, many continue to visit Marhát later. In recent years, attendance has exceeded a thousand participants.

I dare say that the behavior of people coming here is changing. They are more considerate each year. Due to the lower capacity of Marhát, people tend to separate into smaller groups at the summit and just below. Many come in groups. Participants also respect the request to refrain from using pyrotechnics in the mountains. Noise is allowed only in the form of bursts of laughter and sect shots.

The landscape on Marhát is always different from the lower elevations where the climb usually begins. It undoubtedly possesses a charm for which many are willing to tread the hills. It happens that there is mud at the bottom and a snowy blanket on top. Occasionally, there are innovations on the trees. Sometimes, it blows strongly; other times, the landscape is bathed in sunlight. Marhát can be reached by various routes, each slightly different. Shorter, easier routes suitable for bicycles and cross-country skis can be chosen. Most likely, many will opt for the route from Nitrianska Blatnica. On this route, you pass through „Jurko,“ a Romanesque rotunda of St. George, the second oldest structure from Great Moravia in our region. Pilgrimages are regularly held here several times a year. A slightly different character is provided by the shortest route from Vozokany or Lipovník. The route from Výtoky is very common. Especially downhill from Marhát to Výtoky can be done on sleds very quickly. Less common routes are from Modrá horárna, Stara Lehotka, Bezovec, Havran, Zlatý vrch, and Tematín. Of course, you can drive by car to Jelenie jamy and go only from there.

I consider the most beautiful route to be from Modrá horárna and Stara Lehotka. Usually, however, I take the bus to Vozokany, climb to Marhát, and then continue back through Jelenie jamy, Gonove lazy, to Výtoky. I pass by Striebornica, through Moravany, where I sometimes stop for a meal. Then I cross the spa island to Piešťany. Upon arrival, I am pleasantly tired after the kilometers walked, and I feel that I have done something good for myself and others. In 2009, the weather was the most beautiful I had experienced during my climbs. In the lower altitudes, the forests were shrouded in fog, while higher up, the sun peeked out, shining on the solid snow cover beneath a blue sky with clouds. I hope I have inspired you with a way to celebrate the last day of the year.

At the end of 2007, the bus took us from Piešťany to Nitrianska Blatnica. Then my journey upwards began on my own :-). This year, a lot of people came to the “ summit.“ I arrived around 11 AM. I wandered through the beautiful, snowy landscape. Organizers had prepared a bonfire at the top, where people grilled, warmed up, registered, and received tea, sausages, and bacon. Gradually, since I was also cold, I set off back, but by a different route. I went to Jelenie jamy, to the crossroads, and from there, I descended to Gonove lazy. From there, I continued through Výtoky, Moravany, all the way to Piešťany.

Trasa – Marhát – Piešťany – rok 2010

V roku 2010 som na Marhát prišiel veľmi neskoro, na vrchu už nebol skoro nikto. Pre fotografovanie to bolo svojím spôsobom veľmi vhodné. Navyše krajina bola v ten deň naozaj kvalitne zasnežená.
