Hits: 2820

(uniba.sk). Nájsť v nej možno tieto expozície skleníkové: austrálsky skleník, palmový skleník, kaktusový skleník, skleník úžitkových rastlín, Viktóriový skleník s vlhkomilnou a teplomilnou tropickou a subtropickou flórou. A vonkajšie: rozárium, andezitová skalka, vápencová skalka, travertínovo – penovcová skalka, troskovo – lávová skalka, bridlicová skalka, čadičová skalka, žulová skalka, rašelinisko, letničkové a trvalkové záhony, cudzokrajné a domáce , rododendrony a azalky, zimuvzdorné a mrazuvzdorné kaktusy, stredomorie, japonská záhrada (uniba.sk).

Nuž, ono to ani veľmi nejde.

The Botanical Garden of Comenius University (UK) in is an important scientific and educational institution. It is located at Botanická Street 3 in the Karlova Ves district, near the Danube River (sk.wikipedia.org). It was founded in 1942 (uniba.sk) on the initiative of Professor František Nábělek (sk.wikipedia.org). The chosen site for its construction was an area around the Lanfranconi Villa, covering 6.6 hectares, which had a natural water source thanks to the Vydrica stream. Greenhouses and an irrigation system were built after 1945. The garden is part of Comenius University, with a mission to maintain and expand its collection of living plants. In cooperation with other organizations, it hosts exhibitions. Various species of plants are experimentally acclimatized in the garden. Warmth-loving vegetation cultivated in the greenhouses attracts the greatest public interest (uniba.sk). The garden’s exhibitions feature more than 5,000 plant species, including a rose garden spanning 0.5 hectares, where visitors can admire nearly 150 predominantly newly cultivated varieties of roses (slovakia.travel).

The Botanical Garden is open to the public from April 1 to October 31, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It is located at Botanická Street 3 in Bratislava (uniba.sk). The greenhouse exhibitions include the Australian greenhouse, the Palm greenhouse, the Cactus greenhouse, the Useful Plants greenhouse, and the Victoria greenhouse, which houses humidity- and heat-loving tropical and subtropical flora. The outdoor exhibitions feature a rose garden, andesite rockery, limestone rockery, travertine-tufa rockery, slag-lava rockery, slate rockery, basalt rockery, granite rockery, a peat bog, annual and perennial flower beds, foreign and domestic woody plants, rhododendrons and azaleas, frost-hardy and winter-hardy cacti, Mediterranean flora, and a Japanese garden (uniba.sk). The area of the garden was reduced due to the construction of the Lanfranconi Bridge in the 1980s (Wikipedia).

Having graduated as an environmentalist from the faculty situated on the hill opposite the garden, and having lived nearby for my entire five years of study, I often visited the Botanical Garden. We had free access with our student IDs, and I occasionally visited the garden even outside the public opening period. Sometimes, I would go there to study. In the rear section, near the Lanfranconi Bridge, there is a rather romantic pond, and not far from it, an area with swings and similar playground equipment for children. Over the long period since I first got to know the garden in 1991, I can confidently say that its marketing has been nearly non-existent. I do not understand this because, although the garden is not favored by those in power, it certainly has the potential to be better promoted. There are occasional investments, and maintenance is carried out. As I frequently visit the garden for photography, I have also encountered the notice warning against earning money from photography within the garden grounds. Well, making money from photography there is not exactly easy—unless one focuses on weddings, which is an exhausting task. No, the garden should be grateful for the publicity, for people who appreciate its work and the efforts of its predecessors, and who are willing and eager to promote it in this way. I wish for the Botanical Garden that the responsible authorities would radically change their approach to this potentially outstanding institution, also from the perspective of tourism.

A botanikus kertben különféle növényfajokat próbálnak akklimatizálni.

A címe: Botanická utca 3., Pozsony (uniba.sk). A kert területe az 1980-as években csökkent, a Lanfranconi híd építése miatt (Wikipedia).

Mivel környezetvédelmi szakemberként a szemközti dombon található karon végeztem tanulmányaimat, és öt évig a közelben laktam, gyakran látogattam a botanikus kertet. A diákigazolványunkkal ingyenes belépésre volt lehetőségünk, és néhányszor a hivatalos nyitvatartási időn kívül is bejutottam. Néha ide jártam tanulni is.

Stromy čelia rôznym hrozbám, vrátane odlesňovania, klimatických zmien a chorôb. Odlesňovanie znižuje biodiverzitu a zvyšuje množstvo oxidu uhličitého v atmosfére.

stromov majú schopnosť zachytiť nádheru a pôsobivosť prírody v jedinom snímku.

Ich výrazné črty môžu vyprávať príbehy o histórii a živote v ich okolí. Kombinácia techniky, kreativity a vnímania krásy v každom jednotlivom strome môže viesť k tvorbe úžasných a dojemných fotografií.

Trees, with their distinctive trunks and branching crowns, stand as remarkable masterpieces of nature and serve as fundamental building blocks of ecosystems worldwide. These living organisms are incredibly efficient, resilient, and enduring. However, trees face various threats, including deforestation, climate change, and diseases. Deforestation reduces biodiversity and increases the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Climate changes may lead to the spread of diseases and unwanted species that can harm trees. Protecting trees involves maintaining their natural habitats, sustainable timber harvesting, and supporting research to address diseases and pests. Trees represent a key element of nature; their conservation and sustainable management are essential not only for their preservation but also for humanity.

Trees have a complex structure that enables them to thrive in various conditions. Their basic parts include roots, trunk, branches, leaves, and fruits. Roots anchor the tree in the soil and absorb nutrients, while the trunk provides support and houses the transport system for water and nutrients. Branches and leaves facilitate photosynthesis, the process by which trees use sunlight to produce energy and generate oxygen. Fruits contain seeds used for reproduction. Trees form extensive ecosystems that provide shelter and food for numerous organisms. Their trunks and branches serve as habitats for birds, insects, and other creatures. Trees help maintain soil quality and create a microclimate in their surroundings. Their significance in ecosystems also lies in capturing and storing carbon dioxide. Trees have economic importance, providing wood used in various industries, from construction to furniture production. Additionally, they supply raw materials for the paper industry, and many plants and medicinal compounds come from trees, contributing to cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications.

Photographing trees allows for the capture of the beauty and grandeur of nature in a single frame. Each tree, with its unique shape and character, offers photographers endless creative possibilities. The photographic interpretation of trees can showcase their majesty, resilience, and relationship with the environment. Composition and perspective play a crucial role in tree photography. Creating contrasts between trees and other elements of nature, such as mountains, lakes, or the sky, can add drama to the photograph. Experimenting with different angles, including low shots or capturing multiple branches, can yield unusual and captivating results. Light is a key factor in tree photography. Early morning or evening hours can create warm and soft lights that highlight the texture of the bark and the colors of the leaves. Contrastive light creates shadow play, adding drama to the image. Shots with striking sunlight rays or reflections can provide a beautiful and impactful effect. Fog can separate spaces and make even something as large as a tree stand out.

Tree photography sometimes captures not only the trees themselves but also the diversity of their surroundings. Including various plant species, flowers, or natural elements in the composition can add another dimension and color contrast. Likewise, capturing birds, insects, or other wildlife associated with tree life enhances the richness of the photograph. Many tree species stand out for their uniqueness and interest. Bonsai, sequoias, or ancient trees with distinctive shapes and age can be excellent subjects. Their remarkable features can tell stories about history and life in their environment. The combination of technique, creativity, and appreciation of beauty in each individual tree can lead to the creation of fascinating and poignant photographs.

Autumn is a beautiful and colorful season that captivates us with its palette of subtle shades and symbolizes the transition from warm summer days to cooler months. It manifests not only in the visual transformations of the landscape but also in people’s activities. One of the most striking signs of autumn nature is the colorful change in tree leaves. Green leaves gradually shift to shades of red, orange, and yellow. This phenomenon entices people into nature to admire this ever-changing beauty. The decrease in chlorophyll and the higher concentration of xanthophylls and carotenoids are responsible for this.

Autumn is a period of contrasts and transitions, showcasing nature’s magnificent transformation. This season provides us with an opportunity to pause, appreciate the beauty around us, and acknowledge the fruits of nature’s labor. Harvesting is another crucial aspect of autumn. Throughout the summer, fruits and crops, such as apples, grapes, blueberries, and pumpkins, ripen. Autumn is also a time when nature prepares for rest and the winter months. Trees shed their leaves, birds migrate to warmer places, and most plants begin to enter a dormant period. This period is often perceived as a time to don warmer clothing and prepare for colder days ahead.
