Lekná – starodávne rastliny

Hits: 588

predstavujú jednu z najstarších línií kvitnúcich rastlín, čo z nich robí dôležitý model pre štúdium evolúcie kvetov a prechod medzi primitívnymi a pokročilejšími krytosemennými rastlinami (Kerry A. Ford et all).

Lekná – rody Nymphaea a Nuphar medzi močiarne rastliny s plávajúcimi listami a nápadnými kvetmi. Klimatické zmeny, výrazné zmeny teplôt a výšky vodných hladín narúšajú vývoj kvitnutia a rozmnožovania lekien (Wikipedia).

V strednej Európe sú bežné druhy: Nymphaea alba, Nuphar lutea, Nymphaea candida a Nuphar pumila. Lekná patria do čeľade Nymphaeaceae.

Vyhovuje im dostatok slnečného žiarenia a teplá . Potrebujú minimálne 4 – 6 hodín priameho slnka denne (upjs.sk). Substrát musí byť bohatý na živiny. pH vody je ideálne mierne kyslé až zásadité, okolo 6 – 7. Stabilné chemické podmienky, bez prudkých kolísaní prispievajú k hojnému kvitnutiu. Menším druhom Nymphaea candida, Nymphaea pumila vyhovuje chladnejšia voda a vyššia nadmorská výška (pfaf.org).

Nymphaea alba malo významný duchovný a liečivý charakter v starovekom Egypte (Wikipedia). V európskej tradícii sú lekná symbolom čistoty a nevinnosti. Kultivar Nymphaea alba rosea – červené lekno z Fagertärnu – bolo dokonca takmer vyhubené kvôli zberu (Wikipedia). Červené listy žltého lekna sú heraldickým symbolom Frízie (Holandsko) a dokonca sa motív lekna objavuje v katedrálnej architektúre (Bristol, Westminster) (Wikipedia).

Listy lekien tlmia a tým regulujú teplotu vody, zároveň poskytnú úkryt obojživelníkom, rybám i hmyzu. Niektoré druhy lekna majú gastronomický význam, napr. hľuzy a semená sú jedlé. Extrakty z lekna sa tradične využívali v ľudovom liečiteľstve, majú sedatívne či mierne halucinogénne účinky (gardenersworld.com).

Water lilies represent one of the oldest lineages of flowering plants, making them an important model for studying the evolution of flowers and the transition between primitive and more advanced angiosperms (Kerry A. Ford et al.). Water lilies are typical hydrophytes with floating leaves, adapted through the reduction of mechanical tissues, a high proportion of parenchyma, and the ability to tolerate hypoxic sediments. Photosynthesis takes place primarily in leaves floating on the water surface.

They reproduce through entomophily, involving beetles, flies, and bees. Protogyny is common – the stigma matures before the pollen, which reduces the likelihood of self-pollination. Water lilies stabilize sediments and provide microhabitats, playing an important role in food chains.

Water lilies – genera Nymphaea and Nuphar – are aquatic plants with floating leaves and conspicuous flowers. They provide ecological services such as shading and shelter for aquatic organisms (gardenersworld.com). They are threatened by habitat degradation and pollution (Wikipedia). Deforestation, wetland drainage, river regulation, and dam construction all negatively affect water lilies. Eutrophication can lead to excessive growth of algae and cyanobacteria, which thicken water bodies and cover floating leaves. Chemical pollution directly damages plants or reduces water quality. The introduction of non-native species also contributes to their decline. Climate change, including fluctuations in temperature and water levels, disrupts flowering and reproduction cycles (Wikipedia).

In Central Europe, common species include Nymphaea alba, Nuphar lutea, Nymphaea candida, and Nuphar pumila. Water lilies belong to the family Nymphaeaceae. The genus Nymphaea contains more than 50 species, and related taxa include Nymphoides peltata (Wikipedia). In tropical regions, species such as Nymphaea lotus and Nymphaea japonica occur.

Water lilies are characterized by an underground rhizome from which roots and leaves emerge (Wikipedia). They overwinter in the form of this rhizome. In spring, new leaves and flowering stems develop from rhizome buds. The shoots produce leaves that gradually float to the surface. After flowering, a water fruit develops containing floating seeds that disperse through water.

Water lilies can also reproduce vegetatively by rhizome division. They prefer standing or slowly flowing freshwater habitats such as lakes, pools, oxbow lakes, slow channels, and ponds with stable water levels. They favor deeper water, with an optimal depth of approximately 0.7–2.5 m (gardenersworld.com). They require sufficient sunlight and warm water, with at least 4–6 hours of direct sunlight daily (upjs.sk). The substrate should be nutrient-rich. The optimal water pH is slightly acidic to neutral, around 6–7. Stable chemical conditions without abrupt fluctuations support abundant flowering. Smaller species such as Nymphaea candida and Nymphaea pumila prefer cooler water and higher altitudes (pfaf.org).

Nymphaea alba occurs throughout Europe, parts of North Africa, and Asia from the Middle East to the western Himalayas (kew.org). Nuphar lutea is distributed from the Atlantic across Europe to Siberia and North Africa. Outside their native range, water lilies have been introduced as ornamental plants and have spread to North America and Oceania. Nymphaea alba and Nuphar lutea are native species in Central Europe, occurring mainly in lowland areas such as the Danubian and Eastern Slovak Lowlands and in river basins (Wikipedia). Nymphaea candida and Nymphaea pumila are very rare or historically recorded in Slovakia (kew.org).

Water lilies have appeared in the cultures of many civilizations. Nymphaea alba had spiritual and medicinal significance in ancient Egypt (Wikipedia). In European tradition, water lilies symbolize purity and innocence. The cultivar Nymphaea alba ‘rosea‘ – the red water lily from Fagertärn – was nearly exterminated due to overcollection (Wikipedia). The red leaves of the yellow water lily are a heraldic symbol of Friesland (Netherlands), and water lily motifs appear in cathedral architecture (Bristol, Westminster) (Wikipedia).

Water lily leaves reduce light penetration and regulate water temperature while providing shelter for amphibians, fish, and insects. Some species have gastronomic value, as their tubers and seeds are edible. Extracts from water lilies have traditionally been used in folk medicine and may have sedative or mildly hallucinogenic effects (gardenersworld.com).

Stromy okrem iného poskytujú potravu a úkryt pre mnohé a tiež regulujú mikroklimatické podmienky v lese. samozrejme produkujú organickú hmotu a kyslík vďaka fotosyntéze.

lesa môžu zachytiť túto atmosféru a preniesť ju divákom. Tieto panoramatické zábery môžu priniesť pocit hĺbky a rozsahu lesa a umožniť divákom cítiť sa, akoby boli súčasťou tohto úžasného prostredia.

Forests are places where nature meets in all its diversity, where seasons change, and the richness of flora and is displayed. The forest is where you feel part of nature and find peace and relaxation. Forests are complex ecosystems, communities of plants, animals, microorganisms, and other organisms that together form an interconnected ecosystem. Forests are of great importance not only from an environmental perspective but also from a cultural and economic perspective.

Trees, among other things, provide food and shelter for many animals and also regulate microclimatic conditions in the forest. Plants, of course, produce organic matter and oxygen through photosynthesis. Forests are home to many animals, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and other invertebrates. These animals have adapted to various aspects of the forest environment and play an important role in the forest ecosystem. Some of them are important for decomposing organic matter and recycling nutrients, while others serve as food for higher levels of the food chain.

Forests also have economic significance. They provide timber used in furniture production, construction materials, and firewood. Forests are an important recreational and cultural space for people, where they can relax, engage in sports, hiking, and explore nature. However, forests are important for preserving biodiversity, maintaining soil and water quality, and regulating the climate.

It is important to realize that forests are vulnerable ecosystems threatened by various human activities such as excessive logging, deforestation, agricultural expansion, and air and soil pollution. Therefore, it is important to protect and maintain forest ecosystems for future generations.

Forest photography can capture this atmosphere and convey it to viewers. Each forest photograph is unique because each forest has its own charm and unique features. When photographing a forest, it is important to play with lighting and angles to capture different aspects of its beauty. Morning light can create beautiful color shades and peculiar contrasts, while sunsets can depict the forest in romantic or mysterious light. Forest photographs can be not only beautiful but also powerful and emotional. They can evoke a sense of reverence for nature.

One way to capture the beauty of the forest is to photograph details. You can focus your lens on the texture of tree bark, colorful leaves, or blooming plants in the forest. These detailed shots can provide viewers with a deeper look into the interior of the forest and its life. Another way to capture the beauty of the forest is to photograph its wide panorama. You can try to capture the entire expanse of the forest and its surrounding landscapes. These panoramic shots can bring a sense of depth and scope to the forest and allow viewers to feel like they are part of this amazing environment.
