Schmetterlinghaus vo Viedni

Hits: 3671

Okrem toho sú motýľom poskytované ovocné šťavy a med (schmetterlinghaus.at).

The Schmetterlinghaus is located in Vienna near the Burggarten. It houses butterflies—it’s an insectarium.

Just 100 meters from the Albertina and 200 meters from the State Opera, there is a tropical oasis of peace and relaxation—the Butterfly House. It is home to around 500 free-flying butterflies year-round (schmetterlinghaus.at), with about 40 species originating from Costa Rica, Suriname, Thailand, and the Philippines. The temperature is maintained at 26 °C with 80% humidity (schmetterlinghaus.at). Exotic plants, chosen according to the needs of the butterflies, are a major attraction. Flowering plants produce nectar, the main food source for butterflies. Additionally, fruit juices and honey are provided for the butterflies (schmetterlinghaus.at). The exhibition also includes a waterfall with a pond. The viewing path leads through a fallen tree and a cave behind the waterfall (mojerakusko.sk).

Patria medzi hmyz a článkonožce.

Butterflies rank among the most beautiful and fascinating creatures on Earth. Their vibrant patterns and graceful flight captivate both the scientific community and nature enthusiasts. Butterflies play a significant role in ecosystems as pollinators of plants. As they sip nectar, they touch flowers and transfer pollen from one flower to another, facilitating the fertilization of plants. Their contribution to biodiversity and the preservation of ecological systems is invaluable. Belonging to the order Lepidoptera, butterflies are classified as insects and belong to the group of arthropods.

Butterflies have a unique anatomy consisting of three main parts: the head, thorax, and abdomen. The head contains complex eyes, antennae for sensing the environment, and mouthparts adapted for sipping nectar from flowers. The thorax is where muscles and the wings of the butterfly are located, enabling it to fly. The abdomen serves for digesting food and houses reproductive organs.

One of the most astonishing aspects of butterfly biology is their metamorphosis. Their life cycle progresses through several stages: egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa, and adult butterfly (imago). During the pupal stage, transformative processes occur inside the chrysalis until a beautiful adult butterfly emerges. With over 150,000 known species of butterflies categorized under the order Lepidoptera, the basic categories include diurnal butterflies (Rhopalocera) and nocturnal moths (Heterocera). Each species boasts unique and intricate color patterns, serving not only for attracting mates but also for warding off predators.

Unfortunately, some butterfly species face threats, including the loss of their natural habitat and the impact of pesticides and climate change. Conservation efforts are crucial to preserving these delicate and valuable natural treasures for future generations. The presence of butterflies in nature enriches biodiversity and serves as a reminder of the fragility and rarity of natural treasures that we should strive to protect and conserve.
