Vodná nádrž Nosice – priehrada mládeže

Vodná nádrž je nádržou rieke pred mestom . Postavená bola v roku 1949 až 1957 ako  (Wikipedia). Je najstaršou priehradou na rieke Váh. Počas jej vytryskol prameň uhličitej z hĺbky 67.5 metra. sa agresívne chovala voči železu a betónu, preto sa stavba natiahla na dlhší (teraz.sk). Na horninový podklad museli navŕšiť čadičové kocky, ktoré zaliali betónom (Miro Mikáč). Prameň bol liečivý, vďaka čomu vznikli liečebné . Prehradením Váhu došlo k zatopeniu a časti obce (teraz.sk), presídlení boli aj obyvatelia obce . Pred výstavbou muselo byť preložených 12 km železníc a 35 km ciest (Maroš Trnik). 

Rozloha Nosickej je 5.7 km2, 36 miliónov m3, maximálna hĺbka je 18 metrov, priehradný múr je 36 metrov vysoký a 472 metrov dlhý (Wikipedia). V najširšom mieste sú od seba vzdialené 1.5 km (Maroš Trnik). Nosice sú súčasťou Vážskej . Od roku 1957 je súčasťou nádrže je vodná elektráreň (Wikipedia), ktorá má funkciu týždenného vyrovnávania prietokov (seas.sk). Nádrž Nosice je aj miestom letnej , je tu možnosť kúpania, surfovania, člnkovania, plachtenia a rybolovu (slovakianguide.sk). Na úpätí Hradiska nad priehradným múrom je postavená vežička – rozhľadňa. Možno tu pozorovať 160 druhov vtákov (Maroš Trnik).

The water reservoir is located on the Váh River, upstream of the town of Púchov. was constructed between 1949 and 1957 and was initially named the „Priehrada mládeže“ or „Youth Dam“ (). It stands as the oldest dam on the Váh River. During its construction, a carbonated water spring erupted from a depth of 67.5 meters. The water exhibited aggressive behavior towards iron and concrete, leading to an extended construction period (teraz.sk). Basalt blocks had to be piled onto the bedrock, which were then covered with concrete (Miro Mikáč). The spring was therapeutic, contributing to the establishment of the healing spa, Nimnica. The damming of the Váh River resulted in the flooding of the village of Okrut and a section of the village of Nosice, leading to the relocation of the inhabitants of the village of Milochov. Prior to construction, 12 km of railways and 35 km of roads had to be rerouted (Maroš Trnik).

The surface area of Nosice Reservoir is 5.7 km2, with a volume of 36 million m3. Its maximum depth is 18 meters, and the dam wall is 36 meters high and 472 meters long (Wikipedia). Since 1957, it has housed a hydroelectric power plant (Wikipedia), serving the purpose of weekly flow regulation (seas.sk).
