Nová Polianka je najmladšia z tatranských osád, vznikla v roku 1956 vo výške 1040 metrov nad morom. Je v nej vojenský liečebný ústav pre liečbu respiračných ochorení a tuberkulózy. Osada je prísne liečebná, nie je východiskom pre turistiku, nemá ubytovacie, ani stravovacie zariadenia. Jej názov je odvodený od neďalekej Tatranskej Polianky. Medzi týmito dvoma obcami pôvodne stála poľovnícka chata Daniela Rolanda Diergardta, ktorý v rokoch 1898 – 1929 vlastnil okolité lesy. Samotu nazývali aj Danielovo. Dnes je tam samota s lesovňou TANAPu Danielov dom (vysoketatry.sk). Celý charakter osady bol od začiatku určený liečebným účelom, a preto tu neexistujú bežné turistické služby ako hotely, reštaurácie či rekreačné zariadenia pre širokú verejnosť. Hlavnou funkciou je poskytovanie špecializovanej zdravotnej starostlivosti v horskom prostredí (Vysoké Tatry). V Novej Polianke stojí rozsiahly liečebný komplex (tatryakoliek.sk). Zaujímavosťou osady je existencia plavecko-rekreačného bazéna, s dĺžkou 13 m umiestneného v nadmorskej výške 1 060 m n. m. Bazén je umiestnený pod holým nebom. Nová Polianka is the youngest of the Tatra settlements, founded in 1956 at an altitude of 1,040 meters above sea level. It houses a military medical facility specializing in the treatment of respiratory diseases and tuberculosis. The settlement is strictly a medical zone – it is not a starting point for hiking, and it does not offer accommodation or dining services. Its name is derived from the nearby settlement of Tatranská Polianka. Between these two locations, there once stood a hunting lodge owned by Daniel Roland Diergardt, who possessed the surrounding forests between 1898 and 1929. The area was also known as Danielovo. The overall character of the settlement has been medical from the beginning, and therefore standard tourist services such as hotels, restaurants, or recreational facilities for the general public do not exist. Its primary purpose is to provide specialized healthcare in a mountain environment (High Tatras). A large medical complex stands in Nová Polianka (tatryakoliek.sk). An interesting feature of the settlement is the existence of a 13-meter-long swimming and recreational pool, located at an altitude of 1,060 meters above sea level.
