Astro­no­tus ocel­la­tus (Agas­siz, 1831) – oce­lá­ty sú pomer­ne veľ­ké a sil­né ryby, kto­ré majú množ­stvo foriem. Pri­jí­ma­jú aj väč­šiu potra­vu, extré­mom sú malé myš­ky. For­my: Red Oscar, Tiger Oscar.

Astro­no­tus ocel­la­tus je ozna­čo­va­ný aj ako ​“Oskar.” Má robust­né telo a schop­nosť meniť far­bu. Má rôz­ne fareb­né varian­ty v závis­los­ti od gene­ti­ky a pro­stre­dia.
