V roku 2011 sa ČSOB Marathon konal 25.- 27.3.2011. Pred ním a počas neho sa v areáli Eurovea konalo množstvo iných podujatí, dalo sa zabaviť rôznym spôsobom.
In 2011, the ČSOB Marathon took place from the 25th to the 27th of March. Before and during the marathon, numerous other events were held in the Eurovea area, providing various entertainment options.
25.3.2011 sa konal v súvislosti s ČSOB Marathonom beh čašníkov. V Bratislave, pred Euroveou. Bolo to výrazne viac o zábave ako o športe a bolo to na môj vkus trochu bez šťavy. Predovšetkým účastníkov bolo málo a ich prístup bol zväčša čisto amatérsky. Výzvy moderátora podujatia do okolitých reštaurácií na účasť a verbovanie medzi divákmi tesne pred štartom podujatia boli pre mňa silná káva. Prístup „oficiálnych“ fotografov, ktorí sa cpali, aby nafotili asi nejaké unikátne fotografie sú tiež mimo môjho vkusu, navyše ich bolo ako hadov. Navyše viacnásobné pokrikovanie Slava Jurka ako moderátora na súťažiaceho, že mu padajú gate mi prišlo úbohé. Ktovie, pre niekoho je to asi veľká prča.
Pre účastníkov bola pripravená prekážková trať, s tým, že sa súťažilo v pároch. Pripravil sa miešaný nápoj a s ním bolo treba prejsť prekážky a potom nájsť niekoho ďalšieho, aby pripravený nápoj vypil. Vypitie bol trochu chuťový problém, pretože veľká snaha a tlak zapríčinil, že nápoje boli trochu príkre :-). Každopádne niečo som nafotil a som s tým celkom spokojný.
On the 25th of March 2011, a waiter race took place in connection with the ČSOB Marathon. It happened in Bratislava, in front of Eurovea. It was much more about entertainment than sports, and, for my taste, it lacked a bit of excitement. Above all, there were few participants, and their approach was mostly purely amateurish. The challenges from the event’s host to nearby restaurants for participation and recruiting among the audience just before the start of the event were a bit too much for me. The approach of the „official“ photographers, who were pushing to take some unique photos, was also not to my liking, especially since there were so many of them. Furthermore, the repeated shouting of Slava Jurka, the host, at the contestants about their falling pants seemed poor to me. Perhaps, for some, it’s a big laugh.
A challenging obstacle course was prepared for the participants, with the competition taking place in pairs. A mixed drink was prepared, and the task was to navigate the obstacles with the drink and then find someone else to drink the prepared beverage. Drinking posed a bit of a taste problem because the great effort and pressure made the drinks a bit intense :-). Nevertheless, I took some photos, and I’m quite satisfied with them.
V hlbokých lesoch, pod korunami stromov sa skrýva fascinujúci svet húb. Okrem toho aj lúky sú bežne domovom pre množstvo druhov húb. Huby tvoria dôležitú súčasť mnohých kuchýň na celkom svete. Dodávajú špecifickú chuť a vôňu. Huby v prírode rozkladajú hmotu, organický materiál. Mykoriziálne druhy žijú v symbióze s koreňmi rastlín. Existuje približne 100 000 známych druhov, avšak ich skutočný počet je pravdepodobne oveľa vyšší. Štruktúra húb je osobitá, tvorí ich mycélium, množstvo tenkých vlákien, ktoré sú schopné rastu a šírenia. Huby sa rozmnožujú výtrusmi. Mnohé huby sú liečivé, sú zdrojom enzýmov, antibiotík a biologicky aktívnych látok. V mykoremediácii sa využívajú na čistenie kontaminovaných pôd, v potravinárskom priemysle a v biotechnologických procesoch. Ich biologická diverzita čaká na objavovanie a výskum.
In the deep forests, beneath the canopies of trees, hides a fascinating world of mushrooms. Additionally, meadows are commonly home to various mushroom species. Mushrooms constitute a crucial part of many kitchens worldwide, imparting a distinctive taste and aroma. In nature, mushrooms play a vital role in decomposing matter, breaking down organic material. Mycorrhizal species live in symbiosis with plant roots. There are approximately 100,000 known species, but the actual number is likely much higher. The structure of mushrooms is unique, consisting of mycelium—numerous thin threads capable of growth and spreading. Mushrooms reproduce through spores. Many mushrooms have medicinal properties, serving as a source of enzymes, antibiotics, and biologically active compounds. They are utilized in mycoremediation for cleansing contaminated soils, in the food industry, and in biotechnological processes. Their biological diversity awaits exploration and research.
Engelhartstetten je obec Dolného Rakúska, neďaleko od Bratislavy (Wikipedia). Leží v najnižšie položenom mieste Moravského poľa. Naprieč ním pretekajú potoky Rußbach a Stempfelbach (Wikipedia CZ). Slovenský názov je Poturno. Žije tu 1909 obyvateľov. Leží v nadmorskej výške 143 metrov nad morom. Nachádzajú sa tu zámky Hof a Niederweiden. S Bratislavou ju spája Cyklomost Slobody (Wikipedia). Delí sa na viacero katastrálnych území: Engelhartstetten, Groißenbrunn, Loimersdorf, Markthof, Stopfenreuth. V obci Engelhartstetten je viacero kolónií Charvátov. V katastrálnom území Loimersdorf žila ešte v polovici 20. storočia silná skupina obyvateľov chorvátského pôvodu. Aj dnes sú bežné chorvátske priezviská (Wikipedia CZ).
Engelhartstetten patrí do okresu Gänserndorf. Obec leží blízko hraníc s Maďarskom a Slovenskom.

It has a population of 1,909 residents and is located at an elevation of 143 meters above sea level. The castles Hof and Niederweiden are situated in the area. The Cycle Bridge of Freedom connects Engelhartstetten with Bratislava (Wikipedia). The municipality is divided into several cadastral territories: Engelhartstetten, Groißenbrunn, Loimersdorf, Markthof, Stopfenreuth. In the village of Engelhartstetten, there are several colonies of Charvát (Croatian) families. In the cadastral territory of Loimersdorf, there was a strong group of residents of Croatian origin in the mid-20th century. Even today, Croatian surnames are common (Wikipedia CZ).

Kôň – Equus ferus caballus je jedným z najvznesenejších a najdôležitejších spoločníkov, ktoré človek má. Tieto nádherné stvorenie zdieľajú s ľuďmi dlhú históriu a ovplyvnili ich kultúrne, ekonomicky a aj vojensky. História koňa siaha tisíce rokov dozadu. Divoký prapredok tarpan obýval rozsiahle územia Európy a Ázie. Ľudia si veľmi skoro uvedomili ako mu kone uľahčia život. Prvá domestifikácia prebehla pravdepodobne okolo roku 4000 pred naším letopočtom v strednej Ázii. V rôznych kultúrach boli využívaní ako spoľahlivý spoločníci v boji, v prieskume a v poľnohospodárstve.
Dnes existuje veľké množstvo druhov a plemien koní, od malých až po veľké a ťažké. Každá forma má svoje jedinečné vlastnosti a schopnosti, čo umožňuje vybrať si podľa svojich potrieb a preferencií. Dnes mnohé ich úlohy prevzali technológie, kone si však stále udržujú svoj význam. Sú využívané aj k rekreačnému jazdeniu, na šport, či dokonca terapiu. Ich citlivá povaha, schopnosť budovať si vzťahy s ľuďmi prináša prospech aj v oblasti fyzického a emocionálneho zdravia. Starostlivosť o kone si vyžaduje znalosti a vôľu. Vyžadujú si správnu výživu, pravidelný pohyb a veterinárnu starostlivosť. Kôň je považovaní za hrdé, krásne, silné a elegantné zviera.
The Horse – Equus ferus caballus is one of the most majestic and crucial companions that humans have. These beautiful creatures share a long history with people and have influenced them culturally, economically, and even militarily. The history of the horse spans thousands of years. The wild ancestor, the tarpan, inhabited extensive territories in Europe and Asia. People soon realized how horses could make their lives easier. The first domestication likely took place around 4000 BCE in Central Asia. In various cultures, horses were used as reliable companions in warfare, exploration, and agriculture.
Today, there is a vast variety of horse breeds, ranging from small to large and light to heavy. Each breed has its unique characteristics and abilities, allowing people to choose horses based on their needs and preferences. While many of their roles have been taken over by technology, horses still maintain their significance. They are used for recreational riding, sports, and even therapy. Their sensitive nature and ability to build relationships with humans bring benefits in both physical and emotional health. Caring for horses requires knowledge and commitment. They need proper nutrition, regular exercise, and veterinary care. Horses are considered proud, beautiful, strong, and elegant animals.
