Zdravie je veľmi chúlostivá vec. Často sa ľudom želá v prvom rade zdravie, a potom šťastie. Asi preto, že zdravie sa ťažko „získava“ a rýchlo a ľahko stráca. Ja s tým nesúhlasím. Sú ľudia, ktorí sú zdraví ako buk, ale šťastní nie sú. Iní majú podlomené zdravie, ale cítia sa šťastní. Známy je vtip, že tí na Titanicu boli všetci zdraví, ale nemali šťastie. Vo svojom živote som snáď iba raz počul, že si ktosi dovolil postaviť šťastie pred zdravie. Bol to kňaz. Veľmi mi imponuje, keď sa človek prejavuje. Žiadna sivá myška. Keď je na ňom vidieť, či sa raduje, či súhlasí, či je smutný, namrzený atď. Najlepšie keď to vidím cez jeho oči. Exupéry tvrdil, že len deti vedia čo hľadajú, vraj majú šťastie. Musím sa priznať, že mám zjavné gnozeologické sklony. Poznanie je pre mňa radosť, učenie sa stalo pocitom.
Health is a very delicate matter. People are often wished health first and then happiness. Perhaps because health is hard to ‚achieve‘ and is quickly and easily lost. I disagree with that. There are people who are as healthy as an oak, but they are not happy. Others have compromised health, but feel happy. There’s a joke that everyone on the Titanic was healthy, but they weren’t lucky. In my life, I’ve heard maybe only once that someone dared to prioritize happiness over health. It was a priest. I’m very impressed when a person expresses themselves. No gray mouse. When you can see if they’re rejoicing, agreeing, sad, upset, etc. Best when I see it through their eyes. Exupéry claimed that only children know what they’re looking for; they have happiness, supposedly. I must admit that I have apparent gnoseological tendencies. Knowledge is joy for me; learning has become a feeling.
Šport je úžasná vec. Naše správanie pri športových aktivitách je podobné ako kedysi prejavoval človek predátor v dobe, kedy človek lovil. Vzrušenie pri športe je veľmi podobné vzrušeniu, ktoré pravdepodobne pociťovali predchodcovia Homo sapiens z obdobia pred naším letopočtom. Je to pudová záležitosť. Pri športe pociťujem jednoduchú radosť z pohybu, vyplavujú sa endrorfíny, nadobúdam dobrý pocit. Už mnoho ľudí šport zmenil k lepšiemu. Aj mňa naučil byť náročný na druhých, a na seba. Ja sám som kedysi aktívnejšie lyžoval a hral basketbal. Ak by som sa mal dnes začínať, rozhodoval by som sa kvôli zdraviu medzi cyklistikou a plávaním. Plávania je snáď najvšestrannejší šport a cyklistika je výborná na vytrvalosť a tréning výrazne podporuje srdce. Sám dnes už športujem menej, občas pestujem cyklistiku, plávanie, korčuľovanie a posilňovanie.
Sports is an amazing thing. Our behavior during sports activities is similar to how humans used to behave as predators in the time when humans hunted. The excitement in sports is very similar to the excitement that our Homo sapiens ancestors probably felt in the period before our era. It’s an instinctual matter. In sports, I feel the simple joy of movement, endorphins are released, and I get a good feeling. Sports have changed many people for the better, including myself. It taught me to be demanding of others and myself. I used to be more active in skiing and playing basketball. If I were to start today, I would choose between cycling and swimming for the sake of health. Swimming is perhaps the most versatile sport, and cycling is excellent for endurance, significantly supporting heart training. Today, I engage in sports less frequently, occasionally practicing cycling, swimming, ice skating, and strength training.

Nemám rád, keď ľudia vravia, že nemali šťastie. Po zápase niekedy fanúšik jedného z mužstiev začne tvrdiť, že „oni“ vyhrali, pretože mali šťastie. Že brankár mal napríklad šťastie, pretože to bola tyčka. Omyl – ten strelec bol proste slabší – netrafil do brány. Keď brankár chytí ťažkú strelu, nie je to v jeho šťastí, ale v jeho schopnostiach a v schopnostiach útočiaceho hráča brankára prekonať. Za slabosť považujem, keď sa ktosi začne vyhovárať na šťastie. Aby som to rozdelil, ako sa vraví, niekedy by som skôr koňa naučil hrať na klavír, ako sa dohodol s hlúpym. Skúste hlúpemu vysvetliť, že je hlúpy. Ani múdreho nie je ľahké presvedčiť o tom, že je múdry. Veľmi často sa borím aj s neinformovanosťou. O čo ľahšie by sa komunikovalo, pracovalo, keby sme boli správne informovaný. Základom je informácia, ostatné je technológia.
I dislike it when people say they were unlucky. After a match, sometimes a fan of one of the teams starts claiming that „they“ won because they were lucky. That the goalkeeper, for example, was lucky because it hit the post. Mistake – that shooter was just weaker – he didn’t hit the goal. When a goalkeeper catches a hard shot, it’s not luck but his skills and the ability of the attacking player to overcome the goalkeeper. I consider it a weakness when someone starts blaming luck. Happiness is in how we feel; it cannot be possessed like money or some material thing; it is a state. I don’t like lotteries. Games where, in my opinion, human foolishness is exploited, a bit of greed. You can argue that someone wins, but tell me how many percent? Calculate the probability? The words about wisdom having its limits and stupidity being infinite may be a bit exaggerated, but they have something to them. Communicating with someone foolish is very difficult. To split hairs, as they say, sometimes I would rather teach a horse to play the piano than make a deal with a fool. Try explaining to a fool that they are foolish. It’s not easy to convince a wise person that they are wise either. I often struggle with ignorance as well. How much easier communication and work would be if we were well-informed. Information is the basis; everything else is technology.
Neznášam telefonické ponuky. Vytrvale a rýchle ich odmietam. A tým rýchlejšie, čím počujem v telefóne hlas „čítajúceho robota“. Človek na druhej strane linky vtedy buď je slabý, alebo lenivý. Moja odpoveď na ponuky je: „Ďakujem, dopočutia“. Hlboko sa mi bridia superlatívy, predovšetkým v televíznych správach. Keď počujem slová ako brutálne, najväčší apod., tak som si skoro istý, že príspevku nemám veriť. Obsluha čašníkov v našich reštauráciách je často zlá. Vôbec, poskytovanie služieb je na Slovensku jeden veľký prúser. Som zvedavý, kedy konečne z toho „vyrastieme.“ Nemám rád nerozhodnosť, najmä vo veciach pracovných.
