Vyštudoval som Prírodovedeckú fakultu UK v Bratislave, odbor environmentalistika, špecializácia ekosozológia a fyziotaktika. Okrem toho mám hudobné vzdelanie. Absolvoval som dychové nástroje na Ľudovej škole umenia, čiastočne som sa naučil sám hrať na klavír. Zaujíma ma okrem iného kultúra vo všeobecnosti, história, prírodné vedy, cestopisy … Kedysi som chcel ísť študovať chémiu, krátko – pred vojnou som pracoval ako poštár, následne som začal pracovať pre mesto Bratislava. Bolo to blízke GIS-om na oddelení informatiky. Po návrate z vojny som prestúpil na „čistú“ informatiku, kde som čiastočne fungoval aj pre GIS. Takmer po 20 rokoch som sa vrátil „ku koreňom“ a fungujem ako priestorový a dátový analytik. Ako GIS admin. Už desaťročia ma láka umenie, cestovanie.

I graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Comenius University in Bratislava, majoring in Environmental Science, with specialization in Ecosozology and Physiotics. In addition, I have a musical education—I completed wind instrument studies at the Elementary Art School, and partially taught myself to play piano. Among other interests, I’m drawn to culture in general, history, natural sciences, travel writing, and more. Long ago, I wanted to study chemistry. Shortly before my military service, I worked as a mail carrier, and afterward, I started working for the City of Bratislava, in a position related to GIS within the IT department. After returning from military service, I transitioned into pure IT, still partly involved with GIS. Nearly twenty years later, I’ve returned to my roots, currently working as a spatial and data analyst and GIS administrator. For decades, I’ve been drawn to art and traveling.

Akvaristické úspechy a výstavy – bol som medzinárodný posudzovateľ rýb Poecilia reticulata.  V rokoch 2003-2008 som organizoval stretnutia akvaristov v Bratislave v rámci www.akva.sk. Od vzniku klubu.akva.sk do roku 2008 som bol členom rady tohto občianskeho združenia, kde som sa v tom čase aktívne podieľal na činnosti klubu.

Aquarium successes and exhibitions – I have been an international judge for Poecilia reticulata fish. From 2003 to 2008, I organized meetings of aquarium enthusiasts in Bratislava within www.akva.sk. From the establishment of klub.akva.sk until 2008, I was a member of the board of this civic association, actively participating in the club’s activities during that time.

Dnes nám pomáha do značnej miery výpočtový výkon, ktorý dokáže využiť umelá inteligencia. Ona tu je už dávno, len jej schopnosti neboli také silné a dostupné aj laickej verejnosti. Prelom nastal cca po roku 2023. Svojho času som si dal vygenerovať nejaký text, ktorý ma opisuje. Je pravda, že ja by som o sebe tak pekne nenapísal, som pomerne náročný a aj pokorný, ale musím uznať, že to čo vytiahla a pospájala AI je takmer všetko pravda. Výstup som upravil.

Today, we are significantly assisted by computing power, effectively utilized by artificial intelligence. AI has been around for a long time, but its capabilities haven’t always been so powerful or accessible to the general public. A significant breakthrough occurred around 2023. At one point, I had some text generated that described me. It’s true that I wouldn’t have described myself in such flattering terms—I’m quite demanding and also humble—but I must admit that nearly everything the AI extracted and put together was true. I have modified the output.

Peter Kaclík sa špecializuje na geografické informačné systémy – GIS. Vo svojom profesionálnom živote sa výrazne podieľal na digitalizácii priestorových údajov Bratislavy od 90-tych rokov a na budovaní moderných geoportálov pre verejnú správu. Je známy svojou dlhoročnou prácou na Magistráte hlavného mesta SR Bratislavy, kde je súčasťou inovatívnych mapových technológií a prepájal dáta rôzneho charakteru do ucelených GIS riešení. Podieľal na zavádzaní pokročilých GIS softvérov, od prvých verzií ESRI ArcView, ArcGIS Pro až po ArcGIS Enterprise do praxe Magistrátu​ Bratislava. Okrem svojej práce v samospráve pôsobí aj v GIS komunite na Slovensku ako organizátor GIS podujatí a popularizátor GIS technológií. Čerpá aj zo svojho environmentálneho vzdelania, počas štúdia sa zameriaval na územné systémy ekologickej stability (ÚSES) a krajinársky prístup k plánovaniu​. Medzi hlavné projekty patrí budovanie a správa mestského geoportálu Bratislavy. Spravuje kompletnú GIS infraštruktúru – od desktopových riešení až po webové mapové aplikácie​, prezentácie. Za jeho pôsobenia získalo mesto Bratislava cenu za profesionálnu tvorbu a vizualizáciu priestorových údajov.

Jedna z tém, ktorú spracováva sú adresné body – kde spracováva celoplošné spracovanie adresných bodov Slovenska a ich využitie aj v krízovej infraštruktúre​. Vo svojej práci využíva aj 3D modelovanie a koncept digitálnych dvojčiat mesta. Virtuálny model mesta poskytuje experimentovanie a umožňuje porovnávanie súčasného stavu mesta s historickými údajmi. Digitálne modely „Twin City“ slúžia na vizualizáciu priestorových zmien a plánovanie rozvoja mesta v koncepte Smart City. Posúva tak mestský GIS od dvojrozmerných máp k interaktívnym 3D scenériám, čo prináša nové možnosti analýzy a prezentácie dát pre odborníkov aj verejnosť. Na GIS konferenciách, ale aj vo svojej práci sa snaží opísať GIS ako kľúčový nástroj pre rozvoj.

Od apríla 2019 pôsobí ako GIS administrátor Hlavného mesta Bratislava. Jeho dlhoročné pôsobenie na Magistráte Bratislava znamená, že pozná dobre procesy, čo mu umožňuje efektívne prepájať GIS s potrebami mesta Bratislava. Snaží sa zapojiť aj akademický sektor, PRIF UK, STU a mestské organizácie. V jeho portfóliu je aj organizácia GIS konferencie GIS Slovakia, uskutočnili sa dva ročníky. Snaží sa spájať ľudí, informácie, technológie, pretože to je užitočné.

Peter Kaclík specializes in geographic information systems (GIS). Throughout his professional career, he has significantly contributed to the digitization of spatial data for Bratislava since the 1990s and has played a crucial role in developing modern geoportals for public administration. He is well-known for his extensive work at the Bratislava City Hall, where he has been involved in innovative mapping technologies and integrating various types of data into comprehensive GIS solutions. He participated in implementing advanced GIS software, ranging from early versions of ESRI ArcView and ArcGIS Pro to ArcGIS Enterprise at Bratislava City Hall.

In addition to his municipal work, he actively contributes to the Slovak GIS community as an organizer of GIS events and promoter of GIS technologies. His expertise also draws on his environmental education, where he specialized in territorial systems of ecological stability (ÚSES) and landscape-oriented planning approaches during his studies. Among his key projects is the creation and management of Bratislava’s municipal geoportal, where he oversees the entire GIS infrastructure—from desktop solutions to web-based map applications and presentations. Under his leadership, Bratislava has been recognized for professional creation and visualization of spatial data.

One of the topics he addresses is address points—comprehensively managing Slovakia’s address points and their utilization in critical infrastructure. His work also involves 3D modeling and the concept of digital city twins. Virtual city models allow experimentation and enable comparison of the city’s current state with historical data. The „Twin City“ digital models serve as visualization tools for spatial changes and urban planning within the Smart City concept, thus advancing municipal GIS from two-dimensional maps to interactive 3D scenes, providing new possibilities for analysis and data presentation to both professionals and the public. At GIS conferences and in his daily work, he consistently describes GIS as a key tool for development.

Since April 2019, he has been working as a GIS administrator for the City of Bratislava. His long-standing experience at Bratislava City Hall means he has an in-depth understanding of the city’s processes, allowing him to effectively align GIS with municipal needs. He actively seeks cooperation with the academic sector, such as Comenius University (PRIF UK), Slovak University of Technology (STU), and city organizations. His portfolio also includes organizing the GIS Slovakia conference, which has had two editions so far. Peter focuses on connecting people, information, and technologies, recognizing their collective benefit.

Peter Kaclík bol aktívny pri vzniku a činnosti bratislavského klubu.akva.sk Slovenska, ktorý bol založený v roku 2006​. Podieľal sa na organizovaní akvaristických podujatí v Bratislave – Akvaristická jar, leto, jeseň a zima v Bratislave“, kde sa konali aj niekedy aj výstavy a prednášky.​ Aj tieto akcie prispeli k prepájaniu chovateľov, výmene skúseností a popularizácii akvaristiky na Slovensku. Peter Kaclík sa venuje a venoval chovu rôznych druhov rýb a pestovaniu vodných rastlín. Nejaký čas sa aktívne zúčastňoval aj na medzinárodných súťažiach. Aktívne sa venuje vzdelávaniu a šíreniu informácií v akvaristike. Publikuje články a príspevky na akvaristických weboch a na svojich stránkach. Zhromažďuje množstvo informácií o akvaristike – od biológie rýb a rastlín, cez praktické návody, až po reportáže z akcií. Na stránke zdieľa napríklad detailné materiály o získavaní a chove živej potravy pre ryby. Vo svete akvaristiky bol činný aj ako organizátor výstav a súťaží, pravidelných búrz. Tým podporuje nielen hobby chovateľov pri získavaní nových druhov, ale aj drobné aktivity v komunite – predaj vlastných odchovov a výpestkov. Zároveň aj dnes ešte čiastočne udržiava kontakty so širšou akvaristickou scénou – spolupracuje aj s akvaristami zo zahraničia.

Vo fotografickej tvorbe Petra Kaclíka sa prejavuje cit pre atmosféru miesta. Svoje fotografie prezentoval na rôznych výstavách a aj v online komunite. Často sa zameriava na kultúru civilizácie v mestách a obciach, krajinu a prírodu. Mnohé z jeho záberov vynikajú nostalgickou náladou, autentickou atmosférou. Dosiahol viacero úspechov na fotografických súťažiach a prehliadkach: Víťaz Park Foto 2008, Cena primátora Piešťan 2009 (Fotokursalon), Čestné uznanie Fotopark 2011. Významným počinom bola jeho autorská výstava „Piešťany a okolie“ v piešťanskom Kursalone na jar 2009​. Zúčastňoval kolektívnych prezentácií – Park Foto Piešťany, Fotopark Bratislava, Fotozáhrada v Bratislave. Na druhej strane priznáva, že nie všetky svoje fotografie považuje za umelecky výnimočné a sám seba neustále kriticky hodnotí​. Po jednej výstave poznamenal, že len jedinú z vystavených fotiek považuje za naozaj vydarenú a že chce na sebe ďalej pracovať​. Má na konte viaceré úspechy a jeho cesta ilustruje, že vášeň pre fotografiu sprevádzaná vytrvalosťou prináša ovocie. Zároveň otvorene hovorí o výzvach, čím inšpiruje nevzdávať sa a neustále sa zlepšovať.

Peter Kaclík’s photographic work showcases his keen sense for capturing the atmosphere of a place. He has presented his photographs at various exhibitions and within online communities. His work often focuses on cultural aspects of urban and rural areas, landscapes, and nature. Many of his images stand out due to their nostalgic mood and authentic atmosphere. Peter has achieved notable success in photography competitions and exhibitions, including winning Park Foto 2008, the Mayor of Piešťany Award in 2009 (Fotokursalon), and an honorable mention at Fotopark 2011. A significant milestone was his solo exhibition „Piešťany and Surroundings“ held in Piešťany’s Kursalon in spring 2009. He has also participated in collective exhibitions such as Park Foto Piešťany, Fotopark Bratislava, and Fotozáhrada in Bratislava.

On the other hand, he openly acknowledges that not all of his photographs are artistically exceptional and continuously evaluates his work critically. After one exhibition, he remarked that he considered only one of the displayed photos genuinely successful and expressed his desire to continue improving his skills. His accomplishments illustrate that passion for photography, coupled with persistence, yields results. At the same time, he openly discusses challenges, inspiring others to persevere and consistently strive for improvement.

Otvorenie letnej kúpeľnej sezóny v Piešťanoch

Každoročne sa v Piešťanoch otvára kúpeľná sezóna v prvý júnový víkend. Organizátori vždy pripravia spoločenský a kultúrny program.

Otvorenie letnej kúpeľnej sezóny v Piešťanoch je podujatie, ktoré symbolizuje začiatok letnej turistickej sezóny v Piešťanoch. Táto slávnosť je považovaná za najvýznamnejšiu udalosť roka v regióne. Tradícia otvárania letnej kúpeľnej sezóny v Piešťanoch siaha až do začiatku 19. storočia, keď sa miestne kúpele začali tešiť medzinárodnej popularite. Oficiálne oslavy, ako ich poznáme dnes, sa však začali organizovať od roku 1992. Cieľom podujatia je nielen privítať návštevníkov, ale aj vzdať vďaku za liečivé pramene, ktoré mestu priniesli slávu a prosperitu. Hlavný program podujatia prebieha v sobotu a zahŕňa rôzne kultúrne a spoločenské aktivity. Neodmysliteľnou súčasťou je slávnostné požehnanie prameňov na Kúpeľnom ostrove, po ktorom nasleduje sprievod mestom (Pic Piešťany). Okrem hlavného programu sú pre návštevníkov pripravené aj rôzne sprievodné podujatia, ako sú výstavy, trhy s remeselnými výrobkami, gastronomické festivaly a športové aktivity. Pre deti sú organizované špeciálne programy, vrátane hier, tvorivých dielní a divadelných predstavení (piestany.sk). Podujatie každoročne priláka tisíce návštevníkov z domova i zo zahraničia, podujatie posilňuje komunitného ducha a poskytuje platformu pre prezentáciu miestnej kultúry, tradícií a talentov (ttkraj.sk).

Rok 2012 – Súčasťou podujatia boli aj preteky dračích lodí medzi mostami. Starým a Kolonádnym mostom.

Rok 2009 – V roku 2009 sa v prvý júnový víkend konali voľby do európskeho parlamentu, preto sa tentokrát Otvorenie konalo týždeň predtým ako obvykle.

Every year, the spa season in Piešťany opens on the first weekend of June. The organizers always prepare a social and cultural program.

The opening of the summer spa season in Piešťany is an event that symbolizes the beginning of the summer tourist season in Piešťany. This celebration is considered the most significant event of the year in the region. The tradition of opening the summer spa season in Piešťany dates back to the early 19th century when the local spa gained international popularity. However, official celebrations, as we know them today, have been organized since 1992. The aim of the event is not only to welcome visitors but also to express gratitude for the healing springs that have brought fame and prosperity to the town.

The main program of the event takes place on Saturday and includes various cultural and social activities. An integral part is the ceremonial blessing of the springs on the Spa Island, followed by a procession through the town (Pic Piešťany). In addition to the main program, various accompanying events are prepared for visitors, such as exhibitions, craft markets, gastronomic festivals, and sports activities. Special programs are organized for children, including games, creative workshops, and theater performances (piestany.sk).

The event attracts thousands of visitors from home and abroad every year. It strengthens the community spirit and provides a platform for showcasing local culture, traditions, and talents (ttkraj.sk).

Year 2012 – Part of the event was also dragon boat races between the bridges – the Old Bridge and the Colonnade Bridge.

Year 2009 – In 2009, the European Parliament elections were held on the first weekend of June, so the opening was held a week earlier than usual.

Jedes Jahr wird die Badesaison in Piešťany am ersten Juniwochenende eröffnet. Die Organisatoren bereiten immer ein gesellschaftliches und kulturelles Programm vor.

Die Eröffnung der Sommer-Badesaison in Piešťany ist eine Veranstaltung, die den Beginn der sommerlichen Tourismussaison in Piešťany symbolisiert. Diese Feier gilt als das bedeutendste Ereignis des Jahres in der Region. Die Tradition der Eröffnung der Sommer-Badesaison in Piešťany reicht bis ins frühe 19. Jahrhundert zurück, als das örtliche Bad internationale Popularität erlangte. Offizielle Feierlichkeiten, wie wir sie heute kennen, werden jedoch erst seit 1992 organisiert. Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es nicht nur, Besucher willkommen zu heißen, sondern auch Dankbarkeit für die heilenden Quellen auszudrücken, die der Stadt Ruhm und Wohlstand gebracht haben.

Das Hauptprogramm der Veranstaltung findet am Samstag statt und umfasst verschiedene kulturelle und gesellschaftliche Aktivitäten. Ein wesentlicher Bestandteil ist die feierliche Segnung der Quellen auf der Kurinsel, gefolgt von einem Umzug durch die Stadt (Pic Piešťany). Neben dem Hauptprogramm gibt es für die Besucher zahlreiche Begleitveranstaltungen wie Ausstellungen, Handwerksmärkte, gastronomische Festivals und Sportaktivitäten. Für Kinder werden spezielle Programme organisiert, darunter Spiele, kreative Workshops und Theateraufführungen (piestany.sk).

Die Veranstaltung zieht jedes Jahr Tausende von Besuchern aus dem In- und Ausland an. Sie stärkt den Gemeinschaftsgeist und bietet eine Plattform zur Präsentation der lokalen Kultur, Traditionen und Talente (ttkraj.sk).

Jahr 2012 – Ein Teil der Veranstaltung waren auch Drachenbootrennen zwischen den Brücken – der Alten Brücke und der Kolonnadenbrücke.

Jahr 2009 – Im Jahr 2009 fanden am ersten Juniwochenende die Wahlen zum Europäischen Parlament statt, daher wurde die Eröffnung eine Woche früher als üblich abgehalten.

Silvester v Piešťanoch

Silvester sa v Piešťanoch, čo si ja pamätám zvyčajne oslavoval aj „oficiálnym – veľkým“ ohňostrojom. Najmä v minulosti sa odpaľoval najmä z brehov Váhu, zhruba v úrovni kúpaliska EVA. Preto väčšina divákov sa naň pozerala z Kolonádneho mostu. Malo to svoje čaro, aj ohnivé efekty nad vodou boli v takomto prostredí krajšie. V roku 2010 sa ohňostroj odpaľoval zo strechy Auparku, v uzavretej zástavbe. Čo bolo dosť nešťastné rozhodnutie. Výhľad naň bol naozaj obmedzený a jeho potenciál sa razom znížil. Menšie ohňostroje prebiehali aj v roku 2010 a aj v minulosti na rôznych miestach po celom meste.

Silvestrovský beh v Piešťanoch je jedným z najstarších a najprestížnejších bežeckých podujatí na Slovensku, s bohatou históriou siahajúcou až do roku 1965. Každoročne sa koná 30. decembra na kúpeľnom ostrove, pričom trasa vedie cez piešťanské mosty – Kolonádový a Krajinský. Tento beh sa stal neoddeliteľnou súčasťou športového kalendára mesta a láka bežcov aj zo zahraničia. Myšlienka usporiadať Silvestrovský beh v Piešťanoch vznikla na jeseň roku 1965, keď traja nadšenci atletiky – Anton Javorka, Walter Schwarz a František Rašla – rozhodli zorganizovať prvý ročník tohto podujatia. Inšpirovali sa populárnym Silvestrovským behom v brazílskom Sao Paule. Prvý ročník sa konal 30. decembra 1965 a zúčastnilo sa ho 30 pretekárov. Odvtedy sa podujatie koná každoročne, s výnimkou niekoľkých prestávok (silvestrovskybeh.sk).

Silvestrovský beh ponúka niekoľko kategórií pre rôzne vekové a výkonnostné skupiny. Hlavná trať má dĺžku 10 kilometrov a je certifikovaná Slovenským atletickým zväzom. Pre menej skúsených bežcov je pripravená 4-kilometrová trať. Okrem toho sú súčasťou podujatia aj detské behy. Pre tých, ktorí preferujú tímový duch, je k dispozícii štafetový beh na 10 kilometrov, kde sa môžu zapojiť tímy s maximálne piatimi členmi (silvestrovskybeh.sk). Prezentácia pretekárov prebieha v Kúpeľnom dome Napoleon na kúpeľnom ostrove. Účastníci majú k dispozícii šatne, sprchy a možnosť využiť vonkajší bazén s termálnou vodou na kúpalisku Eva. Každý pretekár po dobehnutí do cieľa obdrží účastnícku medailu na pamiatku (silvestrovskybeh.sk). V roku 2024 bol zaznamenaný rekordný počet účastníkov, keď sa kapacita tisíc pretekárov naplnila ešte pred podujatím. V absolútnom poradí zvíťazil Matúš Hujsa s časom 32:54 minúty (pnky.sk). Počas behu sa vypije približne 270 litrov teplého čaju a na jeho hladkom priebehu sa podieľa okolo 63 dobrovoľníkov (facebook.com).

New Year’s Eve in Piešťany, as I remember, was usually celebrated with an „official – grand“ fireworks display. In the past, it was mostly launched from the banks of the Váh River, approximately at the level of the EVA swimming pool. Therefore, most spectators watched it from the Colonnade Bridge. It had its charm, and the fiery effects over the water were more beautiful in such a setting. In 2010, the fireworks were launched from the roof of the Aupark in a closed area. This was quite an unfortunate decision. The view was really limited, and its potential was significantly reduced. Smaller fireworks displays also took place in 2010 and in the past at various locations across the city.

The New Year’s Eve Run in Piešťany is one of the oldest and most prestigious running events in Slovakia, with a rich history dating back to 1965. It is held annually on December 30th on the Spa Island, with the route crossing the Piešťany bridges – the Colonnade Bridge and the Country Bridge. This run has become an inseparable part of the city’s sports calendar and attracts runners even from abroad. The idea to organize the New Year’s Eve Run in Piešťany was conceived in the autumn of 1965 when three athletics enthusiasts – Anton Javorka, Walter Schwarz, and František Rašla – decided to hold the first edition of this event. They were inspired by the popular New Year’s Eve Run in São Paulo, Brazil. The first edition took place on December 30th, 1965, with 30 competitors. Since then, the event has been held annually, with a few exceptions (silvestrovskybeh.sk).

The New Year’s Eve Run offers several categories for different age and performance groups. The main course is 10 kilometers long and is certified by the Slovak Athletics Association. For less experienced runners, a 4-kilometer course is prepared. Additionally, the event includes children’s races. For those who prefer team spirit, a 10-kilometer relay race is available, allowing teams with up to five members to participate (silvestrovskybeh.sk). Competitor registration takes place at the Napoleon Spa House on the Spa Island. Participants have access to changing rooms, showers, and the opportunity to use the outdoor thermal water pool at the Eva swimming pool. Each participant receives a commemorative medal upon finishing the race (silvestrovskybeh.sk). In 2024, a record number of participants was recorded when the capacity of one thousand competitors was filled even before the event. Matúš Hujsa won the overall ranking with a time of 32:54 minutes (pnky.sk). During the race, approximately 270 liters of hot tea are consumed, and about 63 volunteers ensure its smooth progress (facebook.com).

Silvester wurde in Piešťany, soweit ich mich erinnere, üblicherweise mit einem „offiziellen – großen“ Feuerwerk gefeiert. Besonders in der Vergangenheit wurde es meistens von den Ufern der Waag abgefeuert, ungefähr auf Höhe des Schwimmbads EVA. Daher sahen die meisten Zuschauer es von der Kolonnadenbrücke aus. Es hatte seinen besonderen Charme, und die Lichteffekte über dem Wasser waren in einer solchen Umgebung noch schöner. Im Jahr 2010 wurde das Feuerwerk vom Dach des Auparks in einer geschlossenen Umgebung abgefeuert. Dies war eine ziemlich unglückliche Entscheidung. Die Sicht darauf war wirklich eingeschränkt, und sein Potenzial wurde sofort gemindert. Kleinere Feuerwerke fanden ebenfalls im Jahr 2010 und auch in der Vergangenheit an verschiedenen Orten in der Stadt statt.

Der Silvesterlauf in Piešťany ist eines der ältesten und prestigeträchtigsten Laufevents in der Slowakei, mit einer reichen Geschichte, die bis ins Jahr 1965 zurückreicht. Er findet jährlich am 30. Dezember auf der Kurinsel statt, wobei die Strecke über die Piešťany-Brücken – die Kolonnadenbrücke und die Landesbrücke – führt. Dieser Lauf ist ein unverzichtbarer Teil des Sportkalenders der Stadt geworden und zieht auch Läufer aus dem Ausland an. Die Idee, den Silvesterlauf in Piešťany zu organisieren, entstand im Herbst 1965, als drei Leichtathletik-Enthusiasten – Anton Javorka, Walter Schwarz und František Rašla – beschlossen, die erste Ausgabe dieser Veranstaltung abzuhalten. Sie ließen sich vom populären Silvesterlauf in São Paulo, Brasilien, inspirieren. Die erste Ausgabe fand am 30. Dezember 1965 mit 30 Teilnehmern statt. Seitdem wird die Veranstaltung jährlich abgehalten, mit wenigen Ausnahmen (silvestrovskybeh.sk).

Der Silvesterlauf bietet mehrere Kategorien für verschiedene Alters- und Leistungsgruppen. Die Hauptstrecke ist 10 Kilometer lang und vom Slowakischen Leichtathletikverband zertifiziert. Für weniger erfahrene Läufer steht eine 4-Kilometer-Strecke zur Verfügung. Zusätzlich umfasst die Veranstaltung auch Kinderläufe. Für diejenigen, die den Teamgeist bevorzugen, gibt es einen Staffelwettbewerb über 10 Kilometer, bei dem Teams mit bis zu fünf Mitgliedern teilnehmen können (silvestrovskybeh.sk). Die Registrierung der Teilnehmer erfolgt im Napoleon-Kurhaus auf der Kurinsel. Den Teilnehmern stehen Umkleideräume, Duschen und die Möglichkeit zur Nutzung des Außenbeckens mit Thermalwasser im Schwimmbad Eva zur Verfügung. Jeder Teilnehmer erhält nach dem Zieleinlauf eine Erinnerungsmedaille (silvestrovskybeh.sk). Im Jahr 2024 wurde eine Rekordzahl an Teilnehmern verzeichnet, als die Kapazität von tausend Läufern bereits vor der Veranstaltung ausgeschöpft war. Matúš Hujsa gewann die Gesamtwertung mit einer Zeit von 32:54 Minuten (pnky.sk). Während des Laufs werden etwa 270 Liter heißer Tee konsumiert, und rund 63 Freiwillige sorgen für einen reibungslosen Ablauf (facebook.com).

Vodný mlyn sa dnes nachádza na brehu Malého Dunaja, v jeho blízkosti sa nachádza skanzen zameraný na poľnohospodársku minulosť obce Jelka. Pôvodný charakter mlynu bol lodný, na kolový bol prestavaný v roku 1905 (muzeum.sk). Je pozoruhodnou technickou pamiatkou juhozápadného Slovenska. Zrekonštruovaný je od 18. mája 2019. V minulosti boli v Jelke mlyny štyri. Je sprístupnený verejnosti, pôvodne patril Jozefovi Némethovi, neskôr jeho synovi Vincentovi a do roku 1973 vnukovi Ernestovi. V mlyne mleli prevažne raž. Mlyn fungoval do apríla 1951 (jelka.sk). Jeho mlynské koleso je funkčné, poháňané je však elektromotorom (cestujzamenej.sk).

V areáli mlynu sa nachádzajú ukážky rôznych poľnohospodárskych strojov a zariadení. Napr. sekačku na repu, pluhy, lis na ľan, sane, váhy, sedliacky voz, rajtár (cestujzamenej.sk).

Vodný mlyn slúžil na výrobu múky. Jeho architektonické riešenie spája funkčnosť s estetikou. Tradičné prvky mlynského kolesa, drevená konštrukcia a kamenné steny vytvárajú harmóniu, ktorá kontrastuje s okolitou krajinou. Každý detail, každá časť, rozpráva príbeh o dávnych časoch, cez ktoré prešiel. Miestni obyvatelia chránia a udržiavajú tento unikátny mlyn ako pamäť pre budúce generácie. Dnes je vodný mlyn turistickou atrakciou aj pre mnohých bratislavčanov. Občasne sa tu konajú kultúrne udalosti, festivaly a koncerty.

The water mill is located on the bank of the Small Danube, near which there is a museum focusing on the agricultural history of the village of Jelka. The original character of the mill was maritime, converted to a wheel mill in 1905 (muzeum.sk). It is a remarkable technical monument of southwestern Slovakia. It has been reconstructed since May 18, 2019. In the past, there were four mills in Jelka. It is open to the public, originally owned by Jozef Németh, later his son Vincent, and until 1973 his grandson Ernest. The mill mainly ground rye. The mill operated until April 1951 (jelka.sk). Its mill wheel is functional, but it is powered by an electric motor (cestujzamenej.sk).

In the mill complex, there are demonstrations of various agricultural machines and equipment. For example, a sugar beet mower, plows, flax press, sledges, scales, a farmer’s cart, a carter (cestujzamenej.sk).

The water mill served for flour production. Its architectural solution combines functionality with aesthetics. Traditional elements of the mill wheel, wooden construction, and stone walls create harmony that contrasts with the surrounding landscape. Every detail, every part, tells a story of ancient times through which it has passed. Local residents protect and maintain this unique mill as a memory for future generations. Today, the water mill is a tourist attraction even for many residents of Bratislava. Occasionally, cultural events, festivals, and concerts are held here.
