Žehra – lokalita UNESCO a zároveň cesta do minulosti

Hits: 316

Žehra je zložená z troch lokalít: vlastnej obce Žehra, Sídliska Dreveník a miestnej časti Hodkovce. V roku 1869 v Žehre žilo 408 obyvateľov. V roku 1991 1126, v roku 2021 2616 obyvateľov (obeczehra.sk). Interiéry kostola svätého Ducha tvoria vzácne gotické fresky svetového významu. On samotný už z diaľky púta pozornosť bielou farbou kostola a charakteristickým dreveným cibuľovitým zakončením veže.

Jedinečný exkurz do minulosti.

Žehra is composed of three locations: the village of Žehra itself, the Dreveník Housing Estate, and the local part of Hodkovce. In 1869, Žehra had 408 inhabitants. In 1991, it had 1,126, and in 2021, it had 2,616 inhabitants (obeczehra.sk). The interiors of the Church of the Holy Spirit feature rare Gothic frescoes of global significance. The church itself stands out from a distance with its white color and characteristic wooden onion-shaped tower. Moreover, it towers over the village on a hill. The church was completed in 1275 and has been modified several times over the centuries. Since 1985, it has been a national cultural monument, and since 1993, it has been listed in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List (obeczehra.sk).

Žehra is located in the Slovak Paradise region. It combines historical charm with natural beauty, offering a unique excursion into the past. Žehra boasts a rich history reflected in its preserved landmarks. The Romanesque Church of St. Stephen features unique fresco decoration. Žehra maintains its folk character, hosting traditional events and preserving local folklore activities. It offers the chance to experience the atmosphere of local festivals, where traditions, music, and the flavors of homemade cuisine come together. Žehra is a place where culture merges with unforgettable nature. A visit to this picturesque village is like a journey into the past. The Slovak Paradise National Park is within easy reach. The Kysel Trail passes through a magical canyon with numerous wooden bridges, offering an unforgettable experience.

Barokový Schlosshof

Hits: 2059

Schlosshof slúžilo ako prázdninové sídlo Habsburgovcov. Nachádza sa neďaleko od Devínskej Novej Vsi. Odporúčam prechádzku cez Cyklomost Slobody, bude to príjemná polhodinka.

Schlosshof served as a holiday residence for the Habsburgs. It is located near Devínska Nová Ves. I recommend taking a walk through the Cyklomost Slobody (Cyclist Bridge of Freedom), it will be a pleasant half-hour stroll.

Schlosshof is a settlement of the town of Engelhartstetten. In the 12th and 13th centuries, the Hof Castle is mentioned as the fortress Hof, belonging to the Eckarstau Castle (Wikipedia). The complex is the largest in Central Europe – spanning over 50 hectares. There are rich gardens, everywhere is full of greenery. In addition, there is a mini zoo, space for a farm, horses, and farm animals. Hof Castle is the largest Baroque building in Austria. Its modern history dates back to 1726 when it fulfilled the wish of Eugene of Savoy. The architect was Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt. Maria Theresa received this castle as a gift in 1755. At the end of the 19th century, Emperor Franz Joseph handed the property over to the imperial army. During World War II, the building served the German army and since 1945, the Soviet army. Reconstruction began only after 2002. Since 2005, the castle has been open to the public (schlosshof.cestovanie.biz).

Rieka Morava

Hits: 3280

Niva rieky Morava je vzácne územie, patrí medzi najzaujímavejšie lokality v Strednej Európe, niva Moravy patrí medzi významné vtáčie územia Bird Life International.

The Morava River floodplain is a rare territory, counted among the most interesting locations in Central Europe. The Morava floodplain is recognized as a significant bird area by Bird Life International. It is easily accessible from the town of Stupava. The area is traversed by cycling routes that showcase, among other things, the riparian forests that once dominated this landscape (stupava.sk). The river flows through the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Austria. Its German name is March. It originates in the Northern Moravia on the southern slope of Králický Sněžník at an altitude of 1380 meters above sea level. It flows into the Danube River directly beneath Devín Castle. The river covers a distance of 329 km (Wikipedia).

The name of the river is one of the oldest Old European hydronyms, predating even the Celts, with its original meaning as water or swamp. The historical region of Moravia also derives its name from the river. The highest flow occurs in spring. In summer, the water level decreases, rising again in autumn (Wikipedia). The river is used for irrigation and hydroelectric power generation. In 1997, the river experienced floods caused by abnormal precipitation in the Jeseníky Mountains. These floods claimed 49 lives, with over 250 villages evacuated, and the damages exceeded 63 billion CZK (Wikipedia CZ).

Rastliny samozrejme produkujú organickú hmotu a kyslík vďaka fotosyntéze.

Fotografie lesa môžu zachytiť túto atmosféru a preniesť ju divákom. Tieto panoramatické zábery môžu priniesť pocit hĺbky a rozsahu lesa a umožniť divákom cítiť sa, akoby boli súčasťou tohto úžasného prostredia.

Forests are places where nature meets in all its diversity, where seasons change, and the richness of flora and fauna is displayed. The forest is where you feel part of nature and find peace and relaxation. Forests are complex ecosystems, communities of plants, animals, microorganisms, and other organisms that together form an interconnected ecosystem. Forests are of great importance not only from an environmental perspective but also from a cultural and economic perspective.

Trees, among other things, provide food and shelter for many animals and also regulate microclimatic conditions in the forest. Plants, of course, produce organic matter and oxygen through photosynthesis. Forests are home to many animals, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and other invertebrates. These animals have adapted to various aspects of the forest environment and play an important role in the forest ecosystem.
