Veľká noc v Piešťanoch

Raz som mal to šťastie, že som zbadal už v neskorších hodinách z okna Veľkonočnú procesiu. Nemal som hneď poruke potrebnú techniku, ale výsledok podľa mňa stojí za pozretie. Na fotografiách vidno, že sprievod obkolesil celý kruhový objazd, pekne sa okolo neho obtočil a pokračoval naspäť smerom ku kostolu, odkiaľ prišiel.

Once, I was fortunate enough to witness the Easter procession in the late hours from my window. I didn’t have the necessary equipment immediately at hand, but, in my opinion, the result is worth seeing. In the photos, you can see that the procession encircled the entire roundabout, elegantly wound around it, and continued back towards the church from where it originated.

Einmal hatte ich das Glück, die Osterprozession in den späten Stunden aus meinem Fenster heraus zu beobachten. Ich hatte nicht sofort die notwendige Ausrüstung zur Hand, aber das Ergebnis ist meiner Meinung nach sehenswert. Auf den Fotos ist zu sehen, dass der Umzug den gesamten Kreisverkehr umrundet hat, sich elegant darum gewunden hat und dann in Richtung der Kirche zurückgegangen ist, von wo er gekommen ist.

Text: Kornel Duffek Je neskorý večer, skoro noc – Veľká noc. Z diaľky zaznieva tiahly spev. Spieva množstvo ľudí, veľký spevácky zbor. Melódia je povedomá, áno je to Alleluja. Na ulici ide procesia – vpredu miništranti, za nimi kňaz s monštranciou a veriaci. Oslavujú sviatok Zmŕtvychvstania. Piešťanská procesia, ktorá vychádza z Kostola sv. Cyrila a Metoda, sa líši od ostatných v tom, že prechádza dvoma okružnými križovatkami. Pri oboch stoja policajti a zastavujú premávku, aby procesia mohla nerušene prejsť. Medzitým stále spievajúci veriaci sa otáčajú na druhej okružnej križovatke a pomaly sa uberajú späť ku kostolu.

The melody is familiar; yes, it’s the Alleluia. A procession is moving down the street – altar boys in the front, behind them a priest with the monstrance, and the faithful. They are celebrating the Resurrection feast. The Easter procession in , originating from the Church of St. Cyril and Methodius, is different from others in that it passes through two roundabouts. At both, police officers stand, stopping traffic so the procession can pass undisturbed. Meanwhile, the continuously singing faithful turn at the second roundabout and slowly make their way back to the church.

Text: Kornel Duffek Es ist spätabends, fast Nacht – Osternacht. In der Ferne ist ein langgezogener Gesang zu hören. Viele Menschen singen, ein großer Chor. Die Melodie ist vertraut, ja, es ist das Halleluja. Eine Prozession bewegt sich die Straße entlang – Ministranten vorneweg, dahinter ein Priester mit der Monstranz und die Gläubigen. Sie feiern das Fest der Auferstehung. Die Osterprozession in Piešťany, die von der Kirche St. Cyril und Methodius ausgeht, unterscheidet sich von anderen darin, dass sie durch zwei Kreisverkehre führt. An beiden stehen Polizisten und stoppen den Verkehr, damit die Prozession ungestört passieren kann. Währenddessen drehen sich die ununterbrochen singenden Gläubigen am zweiten Kreisverkehr um und machen sich langsam auf den Rückweg zur Kirche.

Dušičky a sviatok Všetkých svätých

Kresťanský sviatok Všetkých svätých pripadá na 1. november. 2. november prislúcha Spomienke na všetkých verných zosnulých – Dušičkám. Latinsky In commemoratione omnium fidelium defunctorum (Wikipedia.cz). V oba tieto dni častejšie navštevujeme , hroby zdobíme kvetmi, vencami, zapaľujeme sviečky na pamiatku. Je to symbol viery na večný život (Vlk). Spomienkou na našich zosnulých blízkych im vzdávame úctu a vyjadrujeme, že ostávajú žiť v našich srdciach (teraz.sk). Na východe sa od 4. storočia slávi sviatok všetkých mučeníkov (Wikipedia CZ). Slávnosť Všetkých svätých vychádza z historickej udalosti zasvätenia rímskeho Pantheónu Panne Márii a všetkým svätým mučeníkom 13. mája 609 (katolik.cz). V 8. storočí sa v Írsku a Anglicku začal sláviť sviatok Všetkých svätých 1. novembra, v Ríme od 9. storočia (Wikipedia CZ). 1. novembra snáď z dôvodu, že Ketli začínali v tento deň nový rok (katolik.cz). Obyvateľstvo keltského pôvodu sa v z 31. októbra na 1. novembra a druidi lúčili s letom patriacim bohyni života a vítali vládu kniežaťa smrti Samhaina, ktorý vládol zime (teraz.sk). Pamiatka všetkých zosnulých (Dušičky) je spomienkou na zosnulých. Modlitba za zomretých patrí ku najstarším kresťanským tradíciám a spomienka na mŕtvých je súčasťou každej omše. Pamiatka sa objavuje po roku 998 vo francúzskom benediktínskom kláštore Cluny. Od roku 1915, kedy v prvej svetovej vojne zahynulo veľké množstvo ľudí, môžu kňazi celebrovať v tento deň tri omše. V minulosti sa na niektorých dedinách českého a moravského vidieka pieklo zvláštne pečivo nazývané „dušičky“, ktorým sa obdarovávali pocestní, žobráci a chudobní (katolik.cz). Sviatok All hallow even znamená doslovne predvečer všetkých svätých. Z neho vznikol najmä v s obľubou slávený sviatok Halloween. Jeho pôvod je spájaný s keltským sviatkom Samhain (čítaj „souin“, „sauin“). V tento deň mohol aj živý človek navštíviť podsvetie. zvykli chystať pre duše pohostenie. Celý rituál mal zaistiť obyvateľom domu pokoj od zlých duchov a ochranu dobrými duchmi. Masky stríg a oheň mali pomôcť zahnať démonov viesť dobré duše do ríše smrti. Írska legenda hovorí o Jackovi O`Laternovi, ktorý bol opilec, ktorého nebo odvrhlo pre podlé . Peklo ho však nesmelo prijať, pretože od diabla podvodom dostal špeciálny sľub. Jeho duch odvtedy putuje po celom svete s lampášom z tekvice. Takto vznikol zvyk dávať na a rímsy tekvice. Ľudia veria, že Jack si vezme a ochráni ich pred zlými duchmi (diva.sk).

Christian holiday All Saints‘ Day falls on November 1st. November 2nd is dedicated to the Memory of All the Faithful Departed – All Souls‘ Day. In Latin, it is called „In commemoratione omnium fidelium defunctorum“ (Wikipedia.cz). On both of these days, we more often visit cemeteries, decorate graves with flowers and wreaths, and light candles in their memory. It is a symbol of faith in eternal life (Vlk). By remembering our deceased loved ones, we pay them respect and express that they continue to live in our hearts (teraz.sk). In the East, the feast of all martyrs has been celebrated since the 4th century (Wikipedia CZ). The celebration of All Saints‘ Day originates from the historical event of the consecration of the Roman Pantheon to the Virgin Mary and all the holy martyrs on May 13, 609 (katolik.cz). In the 8th century, the feast of All Saints began to be celebrated on November 1st in Ireland and England, and in Rome from the 9th century (Wikipedia CZ). Perhaps on November 1st because the Celts started the new year on this day (katolik.cz). The Celtic population bid farewell to the goddess of life and welcomed the rule of the prince of death Samhain on the night of October 31st to November 1st, marking the beginning of winter (teraz.sk). The commemoration of all the deceased (All Souls‘ Day) is a remembrance of the departed. Prayer for the deceased is one of the oldest Christian traditions, and the remembrance of the dead is part of every Mass. The commemoration appeared after 998 in the French Benedictine monastery of Cluny. Since 1915, when a large number of people died in World War I, priests can celebrate three Masses on this day. In the past, in some villages in the Czech and Moravian countryside, a special pastry called „dušičky“ (little souls) was baked, which was given to travelers, beggars, and the poor (katolik.cz). The holiday All Hallow Even literally means the eve of All Saints. From it, the holiday Halloween, especially celebrated in the USA, originated. Its origin is associated with the Celtic festival Samhain (pronounced „souin“, „sauin“). On this day, a living person could visit the underworld. The Celts used to prepare a feast for the souls. The whole ritual was to ensure the inhabitants of the house peace from evil spirits and protection by good spirits. Masks of witches and fire were supposed to help drive away demons and lead good souls to the realm of death. The Irish legend tells of Jack O’Lantern, a drunkard who was rejected by both heaven and hell for his vile behavior. However, hell could not accept him because he had received a special promise from the devil through deceit. Since then, his spirit has been traveling around the world with a pumpkin lantern. This is how the custom of placing pumpkins on windows and sills originated. People believe that Jack takes the light and protects them from evil spirits (diva.sk).

Ona a on – najstaršie stromy v Piešťanoch

Dva topole čierne (Populus nigra) stoja na ľavom brehu Váhu. Sú to najstaršie v Piešťanoch. Ich odhadovaný vek je 100 rokov. Obvod ich kmeňov je 557 a 610 cm. Ich koruny dosahujú 25 a 29 metrov. Vyhlásené za chránené boli v roku 2006. Sú dvojdomé, jemu dorastajú samčie, jej samičie . Chránené sú u viacerých dôvodov, vedeckého, ekologického a krajinotvorného (piestanskydennik.sk).

Two black poplars (Populus nigra) stand on the left bank of the River. They are the oldest trees in . Their estimated age is 100 years. The circumference of their trunks is 557 and 610 cm. Their crowns reach 25 and 29 meters. They were declared protected in 2006. They are dioecious, with male flowers growing on him and female flowers on her. They are protected for various reasons, including scientific, ecological, and landscape preservation (piestanskydennik.sk).

V posledných rokoch sa letecké dni konajú na Sliači.

Rok 2009

13.6 – 14.6.2009 sa konali Národné letecké dni opäť v Piešťanoch. Tentoraz som sa ho zúčastnil konečne takmer od začiatku programu v sobotu. Škoda, že začiatok bol zúfalý. Veľké množstvo ľudí čakalo pridlho na lístky, to organizátori nezvládli. Ja som si odstál asi 20 minút a to som bol asi 20 metrov od lavice, kde bol predaj lístkov. Za mnou bola halda. Nevšimol som si, žeby organizátorov tlačila niekde topánka, skôr som mal pocit, že im to bolo fuk.

On June 13 – 14, 2009, the National Air Days were held again in . This time, I finally attended it almost from the beginning of the program on Saturday. It’s a pity that the start was desperate. A large number of people waited too long for tickets, which the organizers couldn’t handle. I stood in line for about 20 minutes, and I was about 20 meters from the ticket counter. There was a heap behind me. I didn’t notice that the organizers were under pressure anywhere; rather, I felt like they didn’t care.

14. – 15.6.2008 sa konali Národné letecké dni v Piešťanoch pod názvom „Dni národnej hrdosti„. Ich prvý ročník sa konal 16.-17.6.2007. z oboch podujatí nájdete nižšie.

On June 14 – 15, 2008, the National Air Days took place in Piešťany under the name „Days of National Pride.“ The first edition of this event was held on June 16-17, 2007. You can find photographs from both events below.

25.10.2009 po 18-ej večer sa konala výstava fotografií spojená s vyhlásením výsledkov. Jednotliví „súťažiaci“ v nej odovzdávali svoje v papierovej forme, z ktorých porota vybrala fotografie na výstavu. Porota bola v zložení: Jozef Keppert, Štefan Čambal a Peter Ertl. Do „Fotokursalonu“ sa prihlásilo 26 autorov s 130-imi fotografiami. Víťazom sa stal František Halás, ďalšie ceny si odniesli Karol Belas, Roman Tibenský,  čestné uznania si odniesli Márius Sordel, Richard Hesko a Roman Bučko. Cenu primátora získal . Výstava týchto fotografií trvala viac ako mesiac.

Mimochodom celá nedeľa 25.10 sa niesla v silnom fotografickom duchu, pretože od desiatej ráno sme fotili v súvislosti s inou akciou, ktorú pripravil Piešťanský fotoklub. Fotili sme nedeľný život v Piešťanoch, z čoho sa vyberú fotky na niektorú z nasledujúcich výstav – viď 6. Fotosession.

On the evening of October 25, 2009, after 6 PM, a photo exhibition was held along with the announcement of the results. Participants submitted their photographs in paper form, from which the jury selected images for the exhibition. The jury consisted of Jozef Keppert, Štefan Čambal, and Peter Ertl. Twenty-six authors with 130 photographs entered the „Fotokursalon.“ The winner was František Halás, with additional awards going to Karol Belas, Roman Tibenský. Honorable mentions were awarded to Márius Sordel, Richard Hesko, and Roman Bučko. Peter Kaclík received the Mayor’s Prize. The exhibition of these photographs lasted for more than a month.

By the way, the entire Sunday, October 25, was filled with a strong photographic spirit because, starting at 10 AM, we were taking photos in connection with another event organized by the Photoclub. We captured the Sunday life in Piešťany, and selected photos will be used for one of the upcoming exhibitions – see 6th Fotosession.
