Najstaršie významné osídlenie Braunsbergu je z doby halštatskej, v 7. až 6. storočí pred naším letopočtom. Kedysi bol osídlený Keltmi. Na západnej strane kopca je napodobenina strážnej keltskej veže (Haratíková). Je jedným z troch keltských hradísk v oblasti Uhorskej . Vrch dosahuje 376 metrov nad morom. Devín ako ďalšie hradisko sa nachádza necelé 2 km severovýchodne. Najvýznamnejším bolo oppidum na Bratislavskom hrade. Predpokladá sa, že vybudovali pred 2000 rokmi Bójovia (Urban). Na Braunsbergu často chodia modelári so svojimi modelmi lietať. Je zaujímavé sledovať túto ich vášeň.

Berg a Königswarte

Obec Berg je obec Dolného Rakúska v okrese Bruck an der Leitha v nadmorskej výške 154 metrov nad morom (Wikipedia) na úpätí vrchu Königswarte (gemeindeberg.at). Chorvátsky názov pre obec je Pierga. Na ploche 9.47 km2 tu žije 757 obyvateľov. Neďaleko sa nachádza Bratislava, resp. jej miestna časť Petržalka. Do roku 1996 tvorila s obcou Wolfsthal jednu obec Wolfsthal-Berg. Je obľúbeným cieľom cyklistov (Wikipedia). Berg sa označuje za agrárnu a vinohradnícku obec (gemeindeberg.at).

Prví usadlíci, ktorí položili základy boli z Bavorska v roku 800. Obec ležala aj v minulosti na pohraničí, veľakrát bola zničená, a znovu vybudovaná (gemeindeberg.at). Prvá písomná zmienka o obci je z roku 862 pod pomenovaním Pagus ad Pergo. Nachádza sa tu stĺp svätej Márie – morový stĺp, ktorý stojí na bývalom okraji obce, na hranici s Burgenlandom, čo bola v minulosti hranica medzi Rakúskom a Uhorskom. Bol pravdepodobne postavený na pamiatku morovej epidémie z roku 1679 (Wikipedia).

Königswarte – je východnou časťou Hundsheimských vrchov. Nachádza sa tu vyhliadková veža (gemeindeberg.at). Leží v nadmorskej výške 344 metrov nad morom. Má výšku 22.7 metra. Vyhliadková plošina je vo výške 19.2 metra. Hore vedie 120 schodov (Róbert Pintér), stojí tu od roku 2001 (citylife.sk). Od roku 1958 sa tu nachádza vojenský objekt. Za čias Habsburgovcov Königswarte slúžila ako pozorovateľňa. Medzi obcami Kittsee, Berg, tu nechávali Habsburgovci pochodovať vojsko a organizovali vojenské prehliadky. Napr. cisár František I., ale aj Napoleon (Róbert Pintér).
