Stretnutie Európskej kryptokorynárskej spoločnosti vo Viedni

Hits: 4130

Keď to zhrniem, ja, Milo Pešek, Palo Sedlák a Jožko Kutálek sme si pozreli prednášky v piatok. Jožko Somogyi a Štefan Matuška absolvovali kompletný program, Jožko dokonca aj prednášal.

Napr. do nejakej pestiarne rastlín, do chovne rýb, nejakému akvaristovi, pestovateľovi vodných rastlín apod.

V piatok a v sobotu sa mali prezentovať Kai Erik Witte, Stephan Karlick, Heinz Schöpfel, Alfred Waser, Peter Babics, Jozef Somogyi, Niels Jacobsen, Romeo Herr, Josef Bogner, Claus Kettner, Jan Bastmeijer.

From October 17th to 19th, 2008, a meeting of cryptocoryne enthusiasts” – the European Cryptocoryne Society (ECS) – took place in Vienna. Since we learned about it, and Vienna is very close to Bratislava, we decided to attend such an event. Among the aquarium hobbyists, or rather botanists, there are acquaintances of ours who were willing to travel to Switzerland for a similar event in the past. ECS organizes these events in various countries. In summary, Milo Pešek, Palo Sedlák, Jožko Kutálek, and I attended the lectures on Friday. Jožko Somogyi and Štefan Matuška completed the entire program, and Jožko even gave a lecture.

The complete program was not entirely known to me, and it was also a social event. The weekend program always included lectures from 8:00 PM to midnight. During the day at such events, there is usually an excursion planned, such as visiting a plant nursery, a fish farm, an aquarist, a water plant cultivator, etc. Alternatively, a visit to the Botanical Garden or the zoo is planned. Participants have lunch, dinner, etc., together. Accommodation is provided for the participants. This year, 35 – 40 enthusiasts from all over Europe attended the event, and we even saw some exotic faces, perhaps of Indian, Filipino, or Thai origin.

The lectures were in German, possibly in English. On Friday and Saturday, presentations were scheduled by Kai Erik Witte, Stephan Karlick, Heinz Schöpfel, Alfred Waser, Peter Babics, Jozef Somogyi, Niels Jacobsen, Romeo Herr, Josef Bogner, Claus Kettner, Jan Bastmeijer. Lecture topics covered Sarawak, Thai Cryptocorynes, evolution, fertilization of Cryptocorynes, Cryptocoryne retrospiralis, C. nevilii, C. crudasiana, C. crispatula. Jozef Somogyi, who had a lecture at the Aquarium Winter 2007, spoke about cultivating Cryptocorynes. At the end of Friday’s program, we said goodbye, especially to Stephan Karlick, and received nice gifts. We learned that ECS was very pleased to see new faces. If you are more interested in Cryptocorynes, you would certainly please the European Cryptocoryne Society with your interest. We left Vienna late at night, satisfied. I was very curious about specialists who are able and willing to come together and organize something meaningful. Considering that our klub.akva.sk is organizing an event dedicated to aquatic plants on November 29 – 30, 2008, we invited ECS members to our event.

Hits: 13255

Rok 2006

Výstava sa konala v dňoch 28.9. až 1.10.2006DK města Ostravy, Třída 28. října 124. V rámci nej sa uskutočnilo záverečné 7. kolo ME Guppy, medzinárodné a české majstrovské súťaže akvaristov v kategóriách Guppy, Xipho-Molly, Betta splendens, expozícia teráriových živočíchov, hmyzu, hlodavcov.

Vedúcim výstavy v rámci ME Guppy bol Milan Hrubý, medzinárodným posudzovateľom Krysztof Synowski. Posudzovateľmi boli Gernot Kaden, Jaromír Kubina, Boguslaw Micinski, Gerhard Ostrzil a Milan Stieranka.

The exhibition took place from September 28th to October 1st, 2006, at the Cultural Center in Ostrava, Třída 28. října 124. As part of it, the final 7th round of the European Championship in Guppy took place, along with international and Czech championship competitions for aquarists in the categories of Guppy, Xipho-Molly, Betta splendens, as well as an exhibition of terrarium animals, insects, rodents. The event also featured the sale of fish, aquatic and marsh plants, feeds, equipment, tools, natural materials, and literature. I attended the exhibition on September 28, 2006, with the expectation that a meeting would be held to discuss the creation of an international organization similar to IKGH. IKGH is an organization that coordinates clubs and exhibitions dealing with guppies, and the new organization would bring together friends” of Xipho-Molly. Unfortunately, nothing came of it.

Something pleasant happened to me in Ostrava. Together with a friend, we were looking at fish and discussing them. A visitor overheard us, smiled, and said, Do you have your fish somewhere around here?” We told him, Yes, we do.” He was delighted, and it also pleased me that it could be interesting for someone to see beautiful fish and their keepers. The exhibition was a success, and I met people of a similar interest group again, exchanging a few words. I didn’t stay in Ostrava for long, but I consider my 8‑hour stay to be beneficial.

The head of the exhibition within the European Guppy Championship was Milan Hrubý, and the international judge was Krysztof Synowski. The judges included Gernot Kaden, Jaromír Kubina, Boguslaw Micinski, Gerhard Ostrzil, and Milan Stieranka.

Leider kam nichts dabei heraus.

Mir passierte etwas Angenehmes in Ostrava.

Nepokladám za vhodné poslúchnuť trendy modernej akvaristiky, prípadne obchodný záujem predajcu akvaristickej techniky a nakúpiť výkonné a zázračné“ technické a iné pomôcky. Prirovnal by som to napr. k postupu v práci – veľa najmä mladých ľudí chce byť čo najrýchlejšie manažérmi, ale nič poriadne nevedia urobiť.

What does aquarium keeping mean? I will try to write briefly about it. More experienced hobbyists surely remember how it was when they decided to keep their first fish at home long ago. The motivations that led us to this were often emotional, which was suitable in any case, but these were living beings, so some knowledge would have been useful. More experienced hobbyists might be interested in my perspective, which aims to be objective, inspiring, and understandable. The photos used in this article illustrate the results of the efforts of many hobbyists and serve as a demonstrative example of the various purposes of tanks – from functional to aesthetic.

So, let’s get to it! :-)) Let’s imagine the situation: I want an aquarium, what’s next? It doesn’t matter what age you are; it’s always good to be familiar with the issue. If the idea of having a piece of nature at home crosses your mind, it’s essential to take this thought seriously. One needs to realize that it’s not a toy or an item that can be used and discarded – fish, aquatic plants, shrimp, snails, and even microorganisms in the aquarium are living beings that should be respected and protected. Colorful fish appeal to almost everyone, and I don’t see anything wrong with developing a relationship with them. A young hobbyist should cultivate admiration for fish, aquatic plants, and the aquarium as a whole and its individual components. This means visiting various aquarium stores or, if lucky, breeders. I do not recommend relying too much on the Internet. I encourage cultivating admiration not only for some red” or blue fish” but for the potential enthusiast to gain at least a bit of an overview. Visiting a zoo or botanical garden is suitable, even one without aquariums. I believe that if someone shows affection for fish, it will manifest towards other animals. I recommend places like ZOO Lešná, Tropicarium Budapest, ZOO Budapest, Arboretum Tesárske Mlyňany. If interest persists, or deepens, and the potential hobbyist insists on having an aquarium at home, I would look for information. I would turn first to classical aquarium literature, possibly something older. I don’t think it’s appropriate to follow modern aquarium trends or the commercial interest of an aquarium equipment seller, buying powerful and miraculous” technical tools. You may ask why? The technology is advanced and efficient, but it tempts people not to delve into how it works. Besides, initial failures with expensive equipment can be discouraging. Many tools are more like marathon runners” – for example, an external filter is an excellent thing, but it works well after a relatively long time. Some other tools are supposed to have the opposite effect – to get the aquarium into good condition very quickly – I am not a fan of these super conductors and accelerators. I would compare it, for example, to a career – many young people want to become managers as quickly as possible, but they don’t know how to do anything properly. Similarly, in aquarium keeping, it’s better to start from the beginning, experience everything patiently, understand it, and later, if necessary, move on to more expensive and efficient technology.

I would like to remind you that a good book doesn’t necessarily have to be found in a bookstore or an aquarium store. It doesn’t even have to be bought right away – books can be borrowed from libraries – and I dare say the selection there will be more extensive and probably of better quality. Personally, I would recommend finding a book by Stanislav Frank, Rufolf Zukal, Zdeněk Drahotušský, or Jindřich Novák. I would recommend today’s books full of beautiful photos for the first phase, which I mentioned earlier – for the admiration phase. In any case, I would handle information carefully. If you don’t have experience, it’s challenging to judge if the information source is suitable. As for the Internet, it is a very broad medium, but generally very untrustworthy. It provides an incredible amount of information, including many high-quality ones that are not available elsewhere, but one must separate the wheat from the chaff, and this is undoubtedly a problem for beginners. I would like to point out that you shouldn’t believe every source; it’s always advisable to verify the information. I would dare to recommend one source that I am convinced is excellent, although it is more suitable for advanced enthusiasts and is in English – www.fishbase.com If you learn what you need, you can proceed to realize your plan. You will inevitably need to address:

  • Tank, its selection, placement
  • Setting up the aquarium
  • Lighting
  • Filtration
  • Aquarium maintenance
  • Obtaining fish, plants, equipment, materials

In any case, the information on these pages will help you. It may all sound complicated, but it can be handled quite easily. Don’t stress about it; it’s better to have the will and desire, and your beautiful aquarium and healthy fish will surely thank you for it. Exactly as seen in the used photos. I wish you a lot of success in your aquarium endeavors.

Was bedeutet Aquaristik eigentlich?

Also, legen wir los!

Ihnen viel Erfolg in Ihren aquaristischen Unternehmungen.

Schmetterlinghaus vo Viedni

Hits: 3051

Okrem toho sú motýľom poskytované ovocné šťavy a med (schmetterlinghaus.at).

Schmetterlinghaus is located in Vienna near Burgarten. It houses butterflies and is referred to as an insectarium.

Just 100 meters from Albertina and 200 meters from the State Opera, there is a tropical oasis of peace and relaxation – the Butterfly House. Approximately 500 freely living butterflies can be found here throughout the year (schmetterlinghaus.at), representing around 40 species originally from Costa Rica, Suriname, Thailand, and the Philippines. The temperature is maintained at 26°C, with air humidity at 80% (schmetterlinghaus.at). Attractive exotic plants are chosen based on the needs of the butterflies. Blooming plants produce nectar, which serves as the main food source for the butterflies. In addition, the butterflies are provided with fruit juices and honey (schmetterlinghaus.at).

Hits: 2305

Námestia majú v histórii a kultúre mesta výnimočné miesto.

Squares hold a unique place in the history and culture of a city. They are spaces that embody the past, culture, and urban life. Squares serve as the true heart of every city, with their historical significance, cultural value, contributions to the community, and urban impact making them an integral part of urban life. These public spaces have the ability to bring people together, serving as meeting places and venues for celebrations, while also providing a space for relaxation and leisure.

Most historic squares originated as the central point of a city, where traders, artists, citizens, and politicians would converge. In many cases, squares are the focal points of urban architecture, acting as platforms for cultural events and art. Concerts, festivals, art exhibitions, and other activities are often organized in these public spaces.Squares offer a larger area where people can meet, converse, and share their joys and concerns. This public interaction is conducive to building community and strengthening social bonds. Squares not only have historical and cultural significance but also contribute to the urban and architectural quality of a city. Well-designed squares can create a pleasant environment that inspires and acts as a magnet for residents and visitors alike. Additionally, they can serve as transportation hubs and pedestrian zones, improving overall accessibility and safety.
