V 2. polo­vi­ci 13. sto­ro­čia mes­to kolo­ni­zo­va­li nemci (Wirth, Tichý). V 13. sto­ro­čí sa stal slo­bod­ným krá­ľov­ským mes­tom. V roku 1567 tu bolo 780 domov. Hra­dec Krá­lo­vé sa nachá­dza na seve­ro­vý­cho­de Čes­ka, pri­bliž­ne 100 kilo­met­rov východ­ne od Pra­hy. Je význam­ným mest­ským cen­trom. Veľ­mi výraz­nou črtou je archi­tek­tú­ra. Mes­to je domo­vom via­ce­rých gotic­kých a baro­ko­vých sta­vieb, napr. Kated­rá­la svä­té­ho Ducha a aj his­to­ric­kej rad­ni­ce. Námes­tie Vel­ké náměs­tí pôso­bí ako srd­ce mes­ta. Hra­dec Krá­lo­vé je aj kul­túr­nym cen­trom, koná sa tu Let­ná fil­mo­vá ško­la a Medzi­ná­rod­ný fes­ti­val báb­ko­vé­ho divad­la. Nachá­dza­jú sa tu krás­ne par­ky a záh­ra­dy, napr. park Zahra­da na Valech, park Let­ní lázně.

Jahr­hun­derts wur­de die Stadt von Deuts­chen kolo­ni­siert (Wirth, Tichý). Im 13. Jahr­hun­dert wur­de es zu einer fre­ien könig­li­chen Stadt. Im Jahr 1567 gab es hier 780 Häu­ser. Im Jahr 1864 wur­de das welt­be­rühm­te Kla­vier­werk Anto­nín Pet­rof geg­rün­det. In den 1880er Jah­ren wur­de das Klicper-​Theater erbaut (wiki​pe​dia​.cz).
