Vcho­dy sú mies­ta urče­né na vstup ale­bo výstup z budo­vy ale­bo iné­ho uzav­re­té­ho pries­to­ru. Kľú­čo­vé sú pre izo­lá­ciu budov, pre ochra­nu pred von­kaj­ší­mi vplyv­mi. Na nie­kto­rých ste­nách sa rea­li­zu­je ume­nie stre­et art a gra­fit­ti. Tak sa zo stien môžu stať pôso­bi­vé ume­lec­ké die­la a sú vyjad­re­ním myš­lie­nok a názo­rov. Ste­ny sú aj kľú­čo­vý prvok pre dizajn, archi­tek­tú­ru. Far­ba, tex­tú­ra a mate­riál tvo­ria špe­ci­fic­kú atmo­sfé­ru. Otvo­re­né ste­ny sú dnes moder­né a pris­pie­va­jú ku otvo­re­nos­ti a vzduš­nos­ti priestoru.
