Ruins are rem­nants of the past, hol­ding the­ir own sec­rets and sto­ries to tell. They bear wit­ness to bygo­ne eras, from ancient cast­les to for­tres­ses. Ruins pro­vi­de us with a win­dow into his­to­ry, remin­ding us of the tales and mys­te­ries of our ances­tors. They are a uni­que con­nec­ti­on bet­we­en the past and the pre­sent, an integ­ral part of our cul­tu­ral heri­ta­ge that deser­ves pro­tec­ti­on and reve­ren­ce. Many ruins are accom­pa­nied by legends, ran­ging from spo­oky ghost sto­ries to mys­te­ri­ous disap­pe­a­ran­ces — each ruin car­ries its own myt­hi­cal elements.

Zima je obdo­bie, kto­ré pri­ná­ša so sebou svo­je jedi­neč­né čaro. Je to čas, keď prí­ro­da spo­ma­lí svoj hek­tic­ký ryt­mus a pre­chá­dza do sta­vu vege­tač­né­ho poko­ja. Je to veľ­mi dôle­ži­té pre zem, prí­ro­du. Zima je obdo­bím, kedy sa zvie­ra­tá a nie­kto­ré rast­li­ny stiah­nu do úkry­tov, hľa­da­júc prí­le­ži­tosť na oddych a obno­ve­nie sily. V tom­to obdo­bí sú nie­kto­ré dru­hy rast­lín v sta­ve vege­tač­né­ho poko­ja, kedy ich rast a vývoj dočas­ne utí­cha­jú. Je to ako­by prí­ro­da zadr­ža­la svoj vlast­ný dych, pri­pra­ve­ná na obno­ve­nie živo­ta v ďal­šom cyk­le. Win­ter is a sea­son that brings with it its uni­que charm. It is a time when natu­re slo­ws down its hec­tic rhythm and enters a sta­te of vege­ta­ti­ve rest. This is cru­cial for the Earth, for natu­re itself. Win­ter is a peri­od when ani­mals and some plants retre­at to shel­ters, see­king an oppor­tu­ni­ty for rest and reju­ve­na­ti­on. During this time, cer­tain plant spe­cies enter a sta­te of vege­ta­ti­ve rest, tem­po­ra­ri­ly quie­ting the­ir gro­wth and deve­lop­ment. It’s as if natu­re is hol­ding its own bre­ath, rea­dy for the rene­wal of life in the next cycle.

Win­ter can be chal­len­ging for ani­mals and plants, making envi­ron­men­tal pro­tec­ti­on cru­cial. Some­ti­mes, snow des­cends from the sky, bre­a­king the light into thou­sands of dia­monds that dan­ce on the ground. The win­ter sea­son also brings a plet­ho­ra of joys and acti­vi­ties for peop­le. Cross-​country ski­ing, down­hill ski­ing, sled­ding, and buil­ding sno­wmen are just some of the acti­vi­ties that cha­rac­te­ri­ze win­ter. Win­ter is not just a sea­son of cold weat­her; it is a time of beau­ty, tra­nqu­ili­ty, and a uni­que per­spec­ti­ve on the world around us. It tea­ches us about the impor­tan­ce of rest and rene­wal, not only for natu­re but also for our­sel­ves. In the hus­hed lands­ca­pes cove­red by snow, we can find a cer­tain magic that trans­forms the ordi­na­ry into the extraordinary.

Na Hva­re som strá­vil krát­ky čas v máji 2010. Samoz­rej­me, prís­pe­vok uka­zu­je len veľ­mi malú časť dru­ho­vej diver­zi­ty rast­lín na tom­to krás­nom chor­vát­skom ostro­ve. Hvar je domo­vom pôso­bi­vej fló­ry. Hvar sa vyzna­ču­je typic­kým stre­do­mor­ským pod­ne­bím s tep­lý­mi suchý­mi leta­mi a mier­ny­mi zima­mi. Slneč­né svet­lo a dosta­tok tep­la tvo­ria ide­ál­ne pod­mien­ky pre rast a kvit­nu­tie mno­hých dru­hov rast­lín. Pôda na ostro­ve je však čas­to kame­nis­tá a chu­dob­ná na živi­ny. Bio­di­ver­zi­ta fló­ry Hva­ru je dôle­ži­tá nie­len pre este­tic­ký záži­tok náv­štev­ní­kov, ale aj pre udr­ža­nie eko­sys­té­mov a zacho­va­nie gene­tic­ké­ho bohat­stva rôz­nych dru­hov. Ochra­na tej­to fló­ry je pre­to kľú­čo­vým aspek­tom envi­ron­men­tál­nej poli­ti­ky a úsi­lia o udr­ža­teľ­ný roz­voj ostrova.

Hvar je domo­vom pre nie­koľ­ko ende­mic­kých rast­lín. Jed­ným z prí­kla­dov je Hvar­ski lju­tić (Nigel­la cro­ati­ca), kto­rý zdo­bí sva­hy ostro­va svo­ji­mi pôso­bi­vý­mi kvet­mi. Ďal­ším ende­mic­kým dru­hom je Hvar­ski šaf­ran (Cro­cus hva­ren­sis), kto­rý kvit­ne v jar­nej sezó­ne a vytvá­ra fareb­né kober­ce v nie­kto­rých čas­tiach ostro­va. I spent a short time on Hvar in May 2010. Of cour­se, this con­tri­bu­ti­on sho­ws only a very small part of the spe­cies diver­si­ty of plants on this beau­ti­ful Cro­atian island. Hvar is home to an impres­si­ve flo­ra. The island is cha­rac­te­ri­zed by typi­cal Medi­ter­ra­ne­an cli­ma­te with warm, dry sum­mers and mild win­ters. Sun­ny weat­her and suf­fi­cient warmth cre­a­te ide­al con­di­ti­ons for the gro­wth and blo­oming of many plant spe­cies. Howe­ver, the soil on the island is often sto­ny and nutrient-​poor. The bio­di­ver­si­ty of Hva­r’s flo­ra is impor­tant not only for the aest­he­tic expe­rien­ce of visi­tors but also for main­tai­ning eco­sys­tems and pre­ser­ving the gene­tic wealth of vari­ous spe­cies. The pro­tec­ti­on of this flo­ra is the­re­fo­re a key aspect of envi­ron­men­tal poli­cy and efforts towards sus­tai­nab­le island development.

Hvar is home to seve­ral ende­mic plants. One exam­ple is Hvar­ski lju­tić (Nigel­la cro­ati­ca), which adorns the slo­pes of the island with its impres­si­ve flo­wers. Anot­her ende­mic spe­cies is Hvar­ski šaf­ran (Cro­cus hva­ren­sis), which blo­oms in the spring and cre­a­tes color­ful car­pets in some parts of the island. Vine­y­ards and oli­ve gro­ves are other ico­nic ele­ments of the lands­ca­pe, with oli­ve tre­es pla­y­ing a sig­ni­fi­cant role in the islan­d’s tra­di­ti­onal cul­tu­re and economy.

Na Hva­ru sam pro­veo krat­ko vri­je­me u svibn­ju 2010. Narav­no, ovaj pri­log pri­ka­zu­je samo vrlo mali dio bilj­nog diver­zi­te­ta na ovom pre­kras­nom hrvat­skom oto­ku. Hvar je dom impre­siv­ne flo­re. Otok se odli­ku­je tipič­nom sre­do­zem­nom kli­mom s top­lim suhim lje­ti­ma i bla­gim zima­ma. Sun­ča­no vri­je­me i dovolj­no top­li­ne stva­ra­ju ide­al­ne uvje­te za rast i cvje­tan­je mno­gih bilj­nih vrs­ta. Među­tim, tlo na oto­ku čes­to je kame­ni­to i siro­maš­no hran­ji­vim tva­ri­ma. Bio­raz­no­li­kost flo­re Hva­ra važ­na je ne samo za estet­sko iskus­tvo posje­ti­tel­ja već i za odr­ža­van­je eko­su­sta­va i čuvan­je genet­skog bogat­stva raz­li­či­tih vrs­ta. Zašti­ta ove flo­re sto­ga je ključ­ni aspekt eko­loš­ke poli­ti­ke i nasto­jan­ja pre­ma odr­ži­vom raz­vo­ju otoka.
